Are you kidding with this? Can we please talk about something other than Kerry Wood?

No.

What do you suppose Kerry eats for breakfast? I like to think a bowl of Count Chocula with a glass of orange juice.

Geovanny Soto's having a big game tonight.

Kerry just mowed down the Bucs in the bottom of the ninth to help complete a Cubbies sweep! Go Kerry! Go Cubs! love

Well holy cow - Alfonso Soriano went 2/5 tonight with a stolen base and two runs scored! It's about time he started contributing to the team. And by "the team", I of course mean one of my fantasy baseball teams. wink

So does anyone think the Brian Roberts deal will get done?

Brian Roberts would be a great addition to our team, so I hope that it does.

Alfonso started off last season on the cold side as well...trust me, he'll be hot soon.

I'm really excited about Soto and Fukudome (along with Kerry, of course)...they're looking really good...and they're also on one of my fantasy teams.

I had Soriano last year too, I just didn't realize his slow start was a yearly thing... doh!

I have Soto and Wood on another team, and I'm very happy with their production so far - especially after seeing Soto hit a HR tonight. When I saw the Cubs signed Fukudome, I had two thoughts:

1.) How the heck do you pronounce that last name?
b.) I know how the fans in the bleachers will pronounce it if he doesn't do well!! laugh

Cubs are one game out of first place and are tied with the Brew crew sick

Looks like the hitting is awakinging. Two high scoring games in three days.

As for the Roberts deal, it's dead. The timeline for Opening Day was not met and Roberts and the Oriloes said they wouldn't go through with it then. Good thing two, the Oriloes asking price took five major league ready AAA players away

The Orioles were seriously asking for five MLB-ready AAA players? There must be a few guys that McPhail really likes and wants to bring with him to Baltimore...

I just hope the pitching holds up - I'm not too concerned about the offense. The fielding isn't spectacular either, but if the Cubbies can get a middle of the pack rotation as far as stats are concerned, that should be enough to win the division. It'd be nice to see the Pirates turn the corner and fight with the Brewers and Cubs for the division.

I forgot that the deal for Roberts fell through...would've been nice to have him on the team.

Man, the Phils are makin' us look bad...hopefully we can pull out a victory today on getaway day.

Absolutely incredible play by Derrek Lee defensively in the bottom of the ninth to save the game and force extras...and the we get a big win in ten.

And, most importantly of all (despite struggling a little bit), Kerry Wood gets his first win of the season! love

Damn Derrick Lee. His great defensive play stole the win from the Phils.

Derrek's play didn't make the Top 10.

Sey Edit: Can't say that word.

Here was the asking price for Roberts.

Sean Gallagher
Sean Marshall
Ronny Cedeno
Eric Patterson and one more I forget who it was.

Marshall and Gallagher have a lot of potential and Cedeno could be a very good utility man down the road.
