Wow. Yeah, that's too many promising prospects to give up for one guy...regardless of how good he is.
We got stomped today...Ted Lilly is struggling big time thus far.

Whatever.
That is not necessary. Instead of rolling your eyes at a mod, perhaps you should take some time to familiarize yourself with this list so you don't have future problems.

Didn't realize that "bastard" was no longer allowed...I've seen it used around the boards (in the context in which I used it) many times in the past without it being edited. Hmm. I suppose, in this instance, I'm wrong and I whole-heartedly apologize for the eye-roll at a mod...it was inconsiderate of me.
Anyhow, big win today...Kerry mows 'em down in the ninth to record his fourth save of the year.
EDIT: Fourth save.
Sey Edit: Please follow your own advice and take it to PM.

Can't we just discuss the Cubs? Please leave me alone--the both of you. I've done nothing wrong here.
Please, leave me be.

You really need to take this to PM. If you have an issue with horsey's moderation of your post, PM her. If you have an issue with me, it should be discussed via PM. Stop derailing this thread.

Makes you wonder about the 'what ifs' if the Cubs had put Kerry in a reliever role at an early age in his career. I remember the Red Sox had put Papelbon in as a starter during spring training two years ago and once the guy hit the third inning, he fell apart. Kerry Wood is a more focused pitcher in a controlled, supportive setup. Same with Papelbon.

A good point, though it should be noted that Papelbon had been a starter throughout his career until his rookie year with Boston. Making the transition back and forth between starter and closer isn't always very easy, and doing it successfully is pretty rare (see: John Smoltz).
One does have to wonder if that would have prevented at least some of his injuries.

Papelbon kicks ass. Speaking of kicking ass, the Cubs played well tonight. Dempster was a bit shaky but the bats were swinging like mad for the Cubbies. So many solid hits tonight. Great game, always fun to watch when the Cubs kick butt.

I watched one of the Cubs/Nats games last night on my DVR. The Cubs lost 2-0.
