Well playing the giants is a good cure for what ails you. DeRosa was a monster tonight! Good thing it was Zito on the mound. maybe i should quit whining, it's still early. i need to learn to keep the faith Hopefully hendry can do some more trading and get a few guys too help the rotation, too.

That was quite the game. Nobody seemed to have a clear advantage. Tim Lincecum is pitching tonight and I have to say I don't see the Cubbies beating him

Wood blows a Cub victory in the 9th. Yes he's had a good year but I can't fully open my heart to him. I'm on a "What has he done for the Cubs lately" relationship with my Kerry Wood fandom

Cubbies pulled off a trade with Oakland today for Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin for Sean Gallagher, outfielders Matt Murton and Eric Patterson and minor league catcher Josh Donaldson. Hopefully Harden can stay of the DL and the Cubbies can keep rolling to the playoffs!

Wow. Oakland made a killing. It's not a bad trade for the Cubbies, but wow! Four really good young players, and one of them has already played well at the major league level (Murton).

Yeah, I think both clubs will come out better for this trade - Chicago gets more help for this year, to counter the Sabathia trade by the Brewers, while Oakland gets a few players for the future.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Harden is injury prone but we desperatly needed help with starting pitching and Hendry was right about the fact that when Harden is healthy he is a world class hitter.

Marmol has taken Kerry Wood's spot on the All Star roster. I really don't know what to think about this, I don't see Carlos getting any playing time in the game. He has been far too erratic in his delievery as of late. As much as I hate to say it, I think he needs a demotion to Triple A Iowa to get his head in order

Ankiel wasn't even in the MLB when he took it. He's one of the great comeback stories in MLB, plus he's been cleared by the MLB. Promise, if he was a Cubby, it wouldn't be an issue. Hell, Edmonds (the Cubby killer, and Zambrano's best friend) is a fan fav now.

Ankiel is awesome defensively. That arm he has is terrific, I could see him winning the Gold Glove in the near future
As for Edmonds being a Cub fan favorite, I still feel a little weird rooting for him
