As a temporary thing yes but I still want to see Pie successfully become our lead-off hitter

I don't see where Lou has put this guy as the lead off hitter for the Cubs. And really, who the leadoff hitter is is sort of pointless because they are only batting first in the first inning. After that they come up whenever they come up.

I've been a Cubs fan since '83 and Maddux is my favorite Cub. Infact he and Ripken are probably my two favorite players all time.
Given the way Clemens career ended (steroid speculation), I think that just shows how great Maddux was. 20+ years, 350 wins and counting and he did it all without a 98 mph fastball. I hope he pitches 2 more years (till he's 45) and cracks 370+ wins putting him in the top 5 all time, which would be amazing considering starters only get 33-35 starts a year nowadays.

How do you get those Blue Numbers in brackets after thread titles to appear??? The Bureaucracy is expanding to meet the needs of the expanding Bureaucracy

I still hope that by some miracle or change of heart that he ends his career as a Cub. I appreciate that he wants to be in California to see his kids grow up but man I would love to see Mad Dog in Cubbie blue for that third time.

Cubs take the series against the Pirates in a well played finale pitched by the so-so Marquis. We got to Houston who has really shown that they aren't to be taken lightly. Ward was placed on the DL and Mitch Hoffpair who was outstanding in Spring Trainning took his roster spot. I see this guy being our future long term 1B when D-Lee is out of the eguation(Damn I would hate for that to happen though lol)

Cubs swept the Dodgers! I saw the second and third game, and thought they were actually really good baseball. Zambrano was a bit shaky last night though. That was not the Big Z we've seen in most outings this season.

I agree. That was a phenomenal game. To come back from being down 9-1 to win it 10-9 is incredible. I am not sure I remember the last time a Cubs game felt that good.

Wrigley Field's first throwback game!
This looks like it will be a lot of fun. I'd very much like to go to it. The fact that the CUbs were able to get Atlanta to wear Boston Braves uniforms is really fun too
