The number 1 thing I hate in nascar happened today: freezing the field on the last lap. It makes the race feel anti-climactic.

I agree. You want to see a race not a parade.
I'm surpised that there were so few incidents; this is Talledega.

They might as well just shorten the Talladega races because the drivers are gutless for 400 miles running single file.

despite the finish, the whole race let me kind of breathless with how fast they go. I guess I'd forgotten how fast they go when they're bump-drafting a lot; especially at Talladega.
Of course, I was perfectly happy until the problems at the end with Tony and the other cars. Naturally, HE had to be in the closed hole. I just felt so bad for him since he just can't seem to avoid those darn tire issues. frustrating. and I LOVE Kyle Busch. but I think he should just focus on trying to win either the Nationwide series or the Cup; not all three, though that'd be cool but I think he could get just a little stretched out.

Kyle Busch could not have had a more disastrous weekend. First, he gets flat-out owned by Steve Wallace in their post race disagreement on Friday, and then he gets in an accident(didn't say it was his fault) with possibly the most popular driver in the history of nascar racing. Regardless of whether or not it was his fault, Earnhardt fans will defend their guy to the death and Busch will be the receiver of boos not heard since the glory days of the 1990's Jeff Gordon.
Not too good. Time for him to settle down. And I hope he learned his lesson: don't screw around with a Wallace. They'll kick your ass.

The moment Denny Hamlin deliberately brought out the caution i knew that Dale Jr was going to
lose the race. I remember saying, "Watch Kyle Busch do something stupid and give Bowyer the win." As much as I wanted to see Dale Jr end his winless drought, Bowyer is my second favorite driver... so I am happy

Yeah, I'm tired of guys intentionally bringing out cautions to help a teammate out. That kind of garbage belongs in F1.
Oh, and I couldn't help but laugh till it hurt after Chris Myers said that no other sport is as true to its fans and roots like nascar. I'm tired of Fox trying to convince us the state of the sport is just dandy. It's not.

Hamlin intentionally brought out a caution? Excuse me? That's b-s. Some help he was after he got parked for two laps.
Everyone's just mad because Toyota is beating every other make in NASCAR and JGR is starting to become even more of a threat. Some people need to get over the fact that Jr. really doesn't have as much talent as everybody claims he does; if he's so talented, he would have won more races, and possibly even a championship; tony had a winless drought last year or the year before, and he's a good driver, but he won three or more races that year. How many has Jr. won? Not nearly as many as Stewart, I assure you. It wasn't Busch's fault; he got loose and Jr. was RIGHT THERE and neither one could go anywhere.
in case anybody's forgotten, DE, Sr. bumped, pushed, etc.. everyone out of the way in order to get a win. But does anybody think of that? Oh no, that doesn't count because he was an Earnhardt. Please. If another driver does the same thing, they get booed, threatened, whatever and it's uncalled for. I like how Jr. fans conveniently forget how his daddy did the same thing. *that was drenched with sarcasm, btw*
no offense towards any Jr. Fans, but he's just famous because of his dad. Most of his fans were fans of his dad. It's sickening, to be honest. Maybe he can drive, but I'm not seeing any signs of it.
when Kyle Busch or another Gibbs car wins the Championship, I'll come back to this thread.

The 11 definitely stopped on track for a caution. Whether it was team orders to help his teammate or not, the bottom line is nascar will always penalize for you stopping on the track to bring out the caution.
The luckiest man on the face of the earth is Michael Waltrip. If Kyle Busch didn't steal the attention away at the end, he'd be the target of the week. The guy always seems so nice and funny on TV and in commercials, but throughout his entire career he's had incidents to prove that he definitely has an evil side.

Hamlin's penalty only was being parked for two laps? That is B*. I personally think he should have been parked for longer. He had many laps to pit. He ran around the track stubbornly and cost Busch the lead when Jr had to pass both at the same time. He almost wrecked Mark Martin. He slowed Carl Edwards up, and he cost Harvick two spots. After he finally wreck, he parked inches in front of the pit wall.
If Nascar was true to it's roots thier would still be a race at Rockingham, and thier would still be two races at Darlington. No driver from North Carolina won a single race last season, or this season. The last driver from North Carolina to win a race was Vickers, who wrecked a more popular driver from that state to steal the win.

when Kyle Busch or another Gibbs car wins the Championship, I'll come back to this thread.
First, I hate Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin not because they drive Toyota's, I hate them for other reasons. I have nothing against Toyota, and I happen to like Stewart, Vickers, and Blaney.
Second, I do not think anyone is afraid of Toyota because JGR is the ONLY good Toyota team. When Red Bull, Bill Davis, and Michael Waltrip Racing start to get in the top 20's and top 30's, then people may feel like Toyota is a threat. If you look at the points, Position 2-5 are Chevys, and 2nd, 4th, and 5th are the RCR cars. if anything, people should be more afraid of Burton, Bowyer and Harvick than all three of the JGR cars.
I agree with the Dale Jr. point. Plus Dale Sr would have done the same thing back in the day, heck he did it to Terry Labonte four times at Bristol. (once in the 80's, once in '95, and twice in '99) Many of the Dale Sr. fans who enjoyed the way he bumped other cars became Harvick fans after his death. I was a hardcore Dale Sr. fan, and I refuse to root for Dale Jr.

I was looking at another forum and a thread I saw was right on the money. Kyle Busch is not like Dale Earnhardt. He's like Ernie Irvan. Swervin' Irvan was reckless at times and wasn't too popular for a while but he eventually matured as a racer and he was respected by fellow drivers and fans.
There's still hope that Busch can grow up. But will that upset Mike Joy and Darrell Waltrip? They're smooching his behind every week the way he is right now. The only real Wild Thing is Ricky Vaughn from Major League.
