That doesn't explain why the Superbowl has never been held at Texas Stadium, yet Houston got to host one.

But remember, to the NFL and the host city, the SB is not all about the game. It's an entire week of festivities and events. Sure the game is indoors, but in a cold-weather location everything else will have to be as well. People won't be walking around, taking in the other sites the city has to offer, they'll be bundled up fighting each other for cabs to get from facility to another.

Will the RCA Dome be torn down by then?

I disagree. If I'm going to the SB, I don't care what the weather is like. I'm taking in all of the sights and sounds. You wear a coat, hat, and gloves and you're fine. It isn't going to kill you to walk around outside in Indiana for a bit.

I could never understand that either. Even back in the 60's and 70's Dallas has always had the Cotton Bowl, which seats over 70,000 fans (more than Texas Stadium).

Hasn't Jones already been promised a SB when the Cowboys new stadium opens up in a couple of years?

Yes, they'll get it in 2011 a year or two after the new stadium is scheduled to open. It's just always baffled me that they've never had one here before because as huge as the football market is, you'd have thought they'd have gotten at least one or two over the years.

Anyways, wasn't trying to derail this thread. tongue

Let's go ahead and move this thread back to being Peyton- and Colts-centric, and move general NFL, Superbowl, and Superbowl location talk to the NFL thread.

K?

Dallas new Stadium > Colts new Stadium.

It is a good time for both teams to build the stadiums. Payton brings in the cash and it is sweet to watch games in an updated stadium. Seahawks stadium is nice. Best of all of them is Lambeau field though. If I was a Colts fan now would be the time to get in on season tickets.

hugs

And gersh, the new Cowboys stadium isn't better than the new Colts stadium. They are basically building a larger Texas Stadium with a gazillion levels of suites to segregate the rich from the poor. tongue

It's a way better time watching the games with the blue collar worker anyways. Rich people spend too much time on their cell phones, eating foo foo food and, sipping wine.
