The big game is now exactly 14 days and counting. That's a long duration of time(a week to long, if you ask me) in between the conference championship games, and the Superbowl.

In here we discuss the teams, the events, the season highlights of both Superbowl teams, musical talent that will be performing at the big game, etc. Basically, a pseudo-social leading up to, during, and post game discussion. happy

Our Contenders

NFC Champions

Chicago Bears
Regular season 13-3
Postseason 2-0

Vs.

AFC Champions

Indianapolis Colts
Regular Season 12-4
Postseason 3-0

The best of the best, this season, have made it to the finish line. Who shall cross it first?

historically, 2 week break games have been middling at best, often featuring blowouts.

This one's got some great potential. Now that he's gotten that monkey off his back, I'm not so sure betting against Peyton in this one is such a hot idea.

Who ever said that Peyton Manning could never win the big games!?

Manning > Brady cool

GO COLTS!

I would rather have seen the Saints go than the Bears...but I want the Colts to win!

Blah, I hate this matchup. I can't stand Dungy or Manning, but I hate when stupid flash-in-the-pan teams win the Super Bowl, and Rex Grossman's Bears don't strike me as a team for the ages. I'm holding out hope on some sort of historic tie game resulting from unprecedented extraordinary circumstances tongue

I also agree the Super Bowl bye week should be done away with. Especially since more often than not the teams in the Super Bowl had the first round bye, so they're rested enough.

I'm a Packer fan so I can't say I'm happy to see the Bears in the Superbowl, despite the fact that two of my best friends are fans. On the other hand they did save us two weeks of "New Orleans going to the Superbowl is going to heal the city stories."

Then again, it would be kind of cool to see Rex Grossman have as many rings as Lord Brett Favre.

No matter who plays in the game, we're always going to get over-pounded with a storyline. You just have to accept it.
