I don't follow the Indy Car series that much, but I agree about Danica. If only she was as good at driving as she is at making excuses as to why she isn't winning.

Why would anyone watch CART when there's Formula 1 out there? It's like watching Arena Football instead of the NFL.

...naw, i'd rather be watching Formula 1, too.
I'll still talk about Cart/Indy though. Heck, even Nascar. I never realized it before, but i am a huge racing fan.
Open-wheel racing in North America STILL hasn't recovered from the original split (so stupid. Good job, guys!)
Danica Patrick is darned annoying, but i do understand why she's so prominently featured. She DOES draw interest from outlets that normally wouldn't care about racing (though i've never understood her appeal. People claim she's attractive, but i just don't see it. Course, i've always been a Sarah Fisher fan.

Yes Sarah is and was the only chick (except maybe Katherine Legge) that I root for.
I've always been a Buddy Lazier fan realy.

I like Danica, and I think shes a good role model for young girls interested in what is considered by a large majority a "Boy's sport".

Well I was happy with the Homestad race ,although Wheldon dominated, but Danica showed us she coudent even win in good equiptment by crashing in the pits.

So, what did you guys think of Indy today? Pretty good race, a lot of lead changes. I'm glad Marco Andretti was alright, that looked like a nasty wreck.
I caught some of the rain delay coverage, and they showed highlights of the 1975(I think) 500. The track was literally flooded and cars were kicking up water with the front wings and guys were spinning out under yellow. Unbelievable.

It's interesting..No one mentions Tony George. It was his massive Ego that is responsible for the Open Wheel split in the USA. He wanted an..
1)An All American Series: check the nationality on those drivers
2)all ovals like American racing used to be: ovals, street circuits, and road courses
3)bring down the cost of racing: more expensive than ever.
All of these goals for his own series. All just Bullcrap...so he could take over CART/CHAMP and make his own series.
All it's done is make things worse.
