Games Policy for The Arena
The purpose of The Arena is to give a place for members of the JC to discuss sports big and small from around the world. It is the desire of the moderation staff to allow for serious and light hearted discussion of sports in The Arena. We also value the need to build community among the members who frequent the forum.
As such, we recognize the need and desire for game threads within the forum. This allows not only the ability to build community within the members, but it also allows members to show off their creativity, and to be rewarded.
However, we do not want gaming to interfere with the primary focus of The Arena: discussion. As such, The Arena will be implementing a system of rotating our games. Currently, we will limit games to one game at a time, but as discussion and traffic in The Arena increases, this number may increase as well. Within this thread you will find links to all games that have been created, as well as a schedule for which games will be forthcoming. If you have an idea for a game, please PM one of the forum mods.
Note: Certain game threads will be exempt from the need for a one-at-a-time rotating basis. These include prediction games for specific events (such as NFL Pick'em).

I gather, then, that since the ATH Fantasy League is about to start, Jeorpady won't start again until after that game is finished? Unless another game takes its place afterwards?

Correct.
Except, Jeopardy is already slotted in to go again after ATH. Another new game would be slotted in after the second round of Jeopardy.

For the bowls or a more weekly picking? I would think we'll do a bowl pick 'em, whether officially or unofficially, like this year... but I doubt we'll have an official game for it throughout the season.

No, a weekly pick would be too difficult, Definitely want a Bowl Pick 'Em and maybe a Rivalry Week Pick 'em. it wouldnt be that hard.. I dont imagine.

Updated to put poker in the rotating games (though I think it might eventually be an on-going game) and moved "Around the Arena" from rotation to non-rotation.
