I still haven't forgiven him for the way he handled Hatton-Mayweather

Word on the grapevine is that Mayweather is considering a rematch with Hatton to take place in the UK.
Also, reports are saying Wlad will fight Tony Thompson in a mandatory WBO defence.

Klitchsko-Thompson confirmed here
Reminder that Cotto-Gomez, Woods-Tarver, Johnson-Dawson and Cinton-Margito take place this Saturday.
Prediction?

Cotto-Gomez is so much more interesting than Woods-Tarver, and I'm speaking as an English fan. Woods is terrible.

I dislike Mayweather just because he acts all cocky. He is a great fighter though.

Gomez did not have the speed to keep Cotto at bay. It was obvious he lacked power, but Cotto had far superiour hand speed.
I think Margurito would beat Cotto, after the way he demolished Cintron ....again.
Spike:
Calzaghe had the best attitute, or quote, I have seen from a fighter in awhile.....
It seems the media, and fans, want to make this fight between Hopkins and Calzaghe about Country, Race, and Hopkins pre-fight trash talking....
But Calzaghe said that "This fight isn't about trash talking, Race, or country, It is about two MEN."
I actually watched a couple of Hopkins interviews...He actually respects Calzaghe quite a bit. Hopkins said the trash talk was to build hype and sell tickets a la Mayweather.
Right now...I have the Fight dead even. It will go to whomever imposes their will, which both fighters are masters at.

Aye, Calzaghe always seems modest whenever he talks. I think he'd like to be cockier but his dad slaps him down every now and again.
My opinion on the winner of the fight changes every day nearly. Right now I'm thinking Calzaghe will be the better fighter but Hopkins will do something to win it.
This may change by tomorrow, where I could think that Calzaghe will win in a 1st round, 1st minute KO (unlikely, mind)

Tonight is the night
Curry, check.
Beer, check.
My current prediction is Calzaghe, split decision.

I will do you one better....
Hopkins, by a strange, controversial, split decision!
Really though, not trying to straddle the fence, I really can't pick this one.
I can say this though, Calzaghe has made me a fan, with the way he handles himself, and his athletic ability.
It is a shame this fight did not happen 5 or 6 years ago.
I hope this fight is a good one.

I've got in just in time for Harrison versus whoever he's fighting.
What a fraud. This guy is nothing compared to David Haye, yet he thinks he can get hold of a fight at Wembley Stadium (note for the non-British, but Wembley is a famous stadium where England won the football (soccer) World Cup in 1966)). Judging by this performance, and I knew this anyway, but Fraudley (first name Audley, but the guy's a fraud) cannot be a world heavyweight champion, ever.
Oh wait, he's just won.
Pathetic fight

Close fight. I was not impressed with Hopkins' play acting during the tenth.
All in all, congrats to Joe.
And A_J, if you're looking: America 1, Britain 1.

I think Hopkins did enough to win the fight. But Calzaghe deserved the win also.
Calzaghe's pitter patter punches were un-effective during the fight. Hopkins landed the more meaningful punches.
Calzaghe was busier, but showed that he did not know how to find room to punch. He kept charging forward and getting tied up.
Calzaghe also was rabbit punching throught the fight, he hit Hopkins in the back of the head more than his face.
Hopkins did not show much toughness, and lost the fight on the cards because he did not have the stamina to keep up. He was ahead up untill the 7 or 8th round.
And his acting was disgraceful.
That being said...I give him (Calzaghe) credit for fighting in Vegas, away from his comfort zone.
I was not impressed by either fighter. I thought Calzaghe would have shown more skill.

Yeah, Joe didn't fight the way he normally fights. I put that down to Hopkins' undeniable defensive qualities. Still, you can't sniff at Joe landing 232 punches to 127.
Hopkins has said previously that this would be his last fight. Think he'll go through with it, or now that he's lost again do you think he'll fight again, wanting to retire on a high?

I think Calzaghe made things harder on himself. He should have backed off a little, instead of charging in. I think he would have dominated on the outside.
But, Hopkins does have excellent defense.
I just though I would see more from both.
All credit to Joe though. He got the decision, and might have won over some American fans with his punch volume.
I think Hopkins will fight again....for the right price. These guys are addicted to the money and spotlight.
Spike: What kind of reaction did the fight get across the pond?

Spike: What kind of reaction did the fight get across the pond?
A very mixed one. While most of the media were running out of superlatives to describe Joe's victory, a vocal minority were equally disappointed with his performance and thought that Hopkins should've won.
