He struggled. If he doesn't lose to Povetkin in his next fight, I can see Haye KOing him and taking the title.

This fight was boring. Thompson was not going to win, and Klitschko looked very beatable. I fell asleep through the middle rounds and woke up in the tenth!

I was at my mate's house playing Wii Smash Bros and watching South Park DVDs. Didn't watch the fight till this morning. Agree completely on the boring-ness. Can't remember the last fight I ever watched that was this boring. (Oh wait, Lacy-Manfredo, nevermind  )

Well, in drastically important news, Hector Fitzryan won the Heavyweight Title in Fight Night Round 3 by headbutting and low-blowing his opponent to open him up for the third-round KO.

I agree with Max Kellerman, if Zab would have had this focus early on in his career, he could have been a lot better.
He has the natural gifts to be great, but not the smarts.
What are you hearing about Calzaghe's injury Spike?

Regarding Joe's injury, it's the same as always. He has very fragile hands, which have broken several times. There was a time Joe was a very heavy-hitter, but he's had to adapt his style to avoid serious hand problems. He'll be alright for the Jones Jr fight in November, I'm sure. Not sure whether I would personally advise him to fight on afterwards. A recurring injury like that is going to cause problems, so he should retire after November as was his original plan.

Hopkins-Pavlik
Jones Jr.-Calzahge
Marquez-Casamayor
Diaz-Guzman
Should make for a great year in boxing.
Also, people have been taling about a Cotto-Margarito rematch....Cotto should stay as far away from that fight as possible!!

Agreed about Cotto. He's still a good fighter, but he should try fighting some of the lesser welters if he wants to win belts.

I hope Pavlik beats Hopkins. It's not that I don't like Hopkins, but we need new young fighters to emerge.
Hopkins, Jones, De La Hoya, Calzaghe, Moseley, etc...don't have many fights left. If new stars do not come to the front of the pack, boxing could indeed be sinking....
