Kansas State 94, Syracuse 69, Ohio State 65, Clemson 56, Connecticut 55, Butler 42, Davidson 39, Xavier 38, Alabama 31, Mississippi State 30, Florida 26, Wisconsin 21, Illinois 16, Washington 12, Brigham Young 12, Nevada 8, Bradley 7, Virginia 7, Virginia Commonwealth 5, Utah 4, Baylor 3, Old Dominion 3, Saint Joseph's 3, Fresno State 2, George Mason 2, Utah State 2, Notre Dame 1, California 1, Maryland 1.
As the College Basketball season sets to get underway, I will again start a rankings thread where everyone gets to decide what team they think should be ranked. So look over the teams and get your votes into Arena_Power_Rankings each and every week.
I will post the first week's results the Wednesday after the first week the AP Results are posted. That should be the 14th of November. The season starts the 5th of November, but almost no ranked teams play until the second week of the season. If you think that a once a month schedule of voting for the rankings would be better considering the longer schedule, then the last Wednesday of each month will be when you can send in your rankings.
Let me know which you prefer and get ready to root for your favorite team!

Probably best to keep the poll weekly, given how much can still happen in a given week... if not, then maybe twice a month at least.
Hard for me to vote preseason, without having seen any team yet this season. Thats when you have teams like ND this year in football, make you look stupid

It's gonna be hard to keep up with all these teams throughout the season. I'm not sure if I can participate...
Nice to see Cal getting a vote, but who the heck would give them it? What a waste, in my opinion.

Akin to Spurrier's penchant for putting Duke at 25 in his preseason football poll?

My questions with Clemson deal with them handling quality teams in conference - we saw them start off 17-0 (or something close to that) last year against no competition to speak of, before crumbling in ACC play. They've got some talent, though. rech, do you know who Clemson plays on their pre-conference slate?

we play Georgia, South Carolina, Purdue, Alabama with Alabama and MSU on the road. Clemson also goes to Puerto Rico for a tournamnet were they play Depaul and Ole Miss, and of course a bunch of mid majors throughout

Definitely a far more respectable slate than last years line up... maybe we'll actually see how good Clemson is before January this year.

yes but the ACC will still be very tough. All I want this year is a trip to the big dance, anything less would be dissapointing

Here's Dan's preseason poll:
1. Florida
It's about as worthwhile and accurate as all these other ones.

Because there are lots of games scheduled on Wednesday looking at the schedule, I will extend your poll rankings to be sent in no later than Thursday's at 11:59 P.M. board time. So, get your rankings sent by PM to Arena_Power_Rankings by that time this week and we'll have the first Arena Top 25 Basketball Poll on Friday. Then the next one after that will be due no later than Thursday, November 29th by 11:59 P.M. board time with the results posted on November 30th.
Once the top teams start the main part of their schedule and play other ranked teams, then we'll switch the rankings to be every week. That should be either in December or January at the latest. I'll post the AP Poll results also when those come out.
