I doubt Sri Lanka will make it but it would be good to see them make the effort and be in with a real fighting chance.
You never know, especially with Sangakkara still there and in good form, and Jayasuriya can do anything on his day.

Well they got close, only 96 runs the difference which was not bad actually, considering how much more embarrasing it could have been.
Sangakkara was robbed of a double-century which he deserved and Malinga and Murali put on a fantastic last wicket stand!!
Marvin Atapattu retires - a shame but not surprising... Muppets...

Hmm, I didn't get to see any of this match. Good to see that it was a bit of a fight; Australia actually batted twice in a summer match for once.
So now we wait and see if Pakistan are packin' any heat this summer...

Yeah, I'm not too sure about India. Apart from Dhoni and Sreesanth their team is still pretty much the same from last series and Australia's bowling attack is in a much better state than it was when they last time they toured (Warne and McGrath were out injured and Lee was very much out of form)
Sangakkara was brilliant, although terribly unlucky. He almost won the game off his own bat.

If Aus win the next 3 tests in a row they will beat their own record of 16 consecutive Test Cricket wins...

And the Chappell-Hadley series has been written off as an Aussie demolishing due to troubles in the Kiwi camp.

I wouldn't be so sure. The Kiwi's always lift for a series against Australia, no matter how down they may appear

Gee, Twenty20 is a fun game and it's only half over.
Good score for Australia of 180 odd, but you never know.

Excellent showing by the Australians today!
We kept their total down and then Gilchrist blasted us off the blocks!
Ponting kept his form going strong with a magnificently steady century as well. Finally the nighttime cricket's back on the television screen.

I only saw the highlights of match 3 in the news, but it didn't look pretty for the Kiwis... tis a shame, but there is always next year...
Looking forward to boxing day though!

I think things off teh field and behind the scenes are ruining NZ cricket.
Bracewell for a start is such an embarassment ot the country, he needs to keep his mouth shut. His off field behaviour means that the players are paying for it on the field!.

I saw a little bit of that match. NZ looked pretty good when Australia had three out and was only in their 80's. But hah ... Ponting. As of yet, they've failed to even get him out in any match.
So the Aussies take the ODI trophy again.
Now; Boxing Day!!

Ponting is truly in a ruch vein of form, no other batsman is even close to him at the moment. And unsurprisingly comparisons are starting to be made between him and The Don
