I'm quite enjoying this tri-series. It's nice to see ball dominate the bat for once.

Tyi-Maet_Nefer posted: Lee? Why wouldn't Lee be in there?
And Ponting will have just turned 36. He could still be there.

I'm finding the NZ v England series far more exciting than the tri-series

The tri series wouldn't even be showing over there, would it?

Yeah it is, they always show in NZ.
I'm in Canada at the mo, so relying on 'not so legal' forms of media to watch the games

I have to say, that NZ/England tie yesterday was an amazing match to watch.
In other news, the IPL auction was held. Some crazy figures floating around there, with people like Symonds and Dhoni being sold for over a million dollars each.

I'm just reviewing some of the rights bought by the IPL. Hyderabad looks like a devastating batting lineup:
Andrew Symonds (Aus), Adam Gilchrist (Aus), Herschelle Gibbs (SAf), Shahid Afridi (Pak), Scott Styris (NZ), VVS Laxman (Ind).
5 of those in the top order is crazy. If I was in the crowd when Afridi and Gilchrist were in full swing I think I'd want to wear a helmet.

More than anyone, Twenty20 was made for Afridi. I remember watching his 30-odd ball hundred, the hitting was incredible.

Yeah some of the teams have strange make ups though.
Cricinfo has good summaries of each team, gonna be interesting. I am perplexed by some of the prices for some of the players though

One that really got me was Ponting for $435,000 and David Hussey for nearly $800,000. I mean Ponting has been in poor form lately but only half as much as domestic player? Surely not.

Yeah some boggle the mind. I don't think the Indian Billionaires quite have a grip on reality with the prices they paid.
I can understand that most owners being Indian paid heaps for Indian players, but some of them are crap and not worth anything near what they have been bought for

Damn India got so close last night, it's a shame they didn't quite make it.

It is? I reckon it's good, because it leaves Sri Lanka in with a chance which means this week's matches are worthwhile. It was a good game the other night though, no joke.
And people were just speaking about Ponting not being in form . . .

Always glad to see India lose, bunch of whining babies.
Glad to see Sharman get in trouble for theat horrendous send off to Symonds, little **** should keep his mouth shut. India are all talk and whingeing but can't put up on the field
