I'll stick with a standard 4-4-2...
-----------Drogba----Messi------------
Ribéry---Fabregas---Essien---C. Ronaldo
P. Lahm----Nesta-----Gallas----D. Alvez
---------------P. Cech----------------

Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory.

I'd put Buffon in goal, maybe Zambrotta at left back instead of Lahm. Lahm's probably my favorite player, but he really hasn't played well since the World Cup.

So according to UEFA.com's poll, here is the top team of 2007:
-----Ibrahimovic--Drogba--------
Seedorf--Kaká--Gerrard--C.Ronaldo
-Abidal---Terry---Nesta----Alvez-
------------Casillas-------------
Can't argue too much with the list other than Terry and Gerrard, who could only make this list due to delusional English fans. There are many who play those positions better then Terry and Gerrard, including other players on their own teams. Kaká is overrated, but I can at least understand his inclusion.

I can't believe none of us noticed that Kaka was glaringly missing from snap-hiss's lineup.
And Terry made the UEFA team? Meh.
I wouldn't necessarily say Kaka is overrated. More a case of no one else really having had a great year. Ronaldinho, Henry and the other usual suspects for player of the year honors had subpar seasons. The only other player I thought had a comperable season to Kaka was Drogba, but he was on a Chelsea team that won neither its league nor CL.

but he was on a Chelsea team that won neither its league nor CL
Why does that matter? he stilled played against the world's top competition and Chelsea is a top quality team.

Wasn't saying it was a mistake on your part, just a glaring oversight by the rest of us.

----PIRLO---GIGGS---FABREGAS---C RONALDO----
----EVRA----MERTESACKER----VIDIC----ODDO----
-------------------BUFFON-------------------
Although I wouldn't mind trading in ODDO out for a young American named Valentin. Very nice defender. (And coming from the Brit who hates MLS style play, that's saying something.]

Mmm, I might shove Ferdinand in too, either for the sake of a sub, or move Mertesacker outside and take out Evra.
