Clemson baseball was not selected for the NCAA Baseball tournamnet field. It was the 1st time we missed the regionals wince 1987. 21 staright years was the 3rd longest streak in the country. We finished the season at 31-27-1. We were on the bubble but the bubble burst. cry
Not that we would have done any damage, thie years team was made up of Freshman and Sophmores and were way too inconsistent.
But applause to a great streak.

*cheers* tongue

Quite an impressive streak, though, and I'm sure a new one will start again next year. And I'm not so sure about Carolina next year, with all the juniors we have waiting to be drafted (Smoak, Havens, Darnell) Hopefully Tanner will have another great recruiting class coming in though.

Yeah, a tie. Rather hilarious tie, too, given that Clemson was technically leading the game (in extras, I think the 12th?) when it was called and what probably amounts to a loophole in the rules resulted in the game being declared a tie.

So wrong. All-Star game was a tie game in Milwaukee a couple of years ago.

Normally, no, there are no ties. But apparently there is some exception written in the NCAA rules involving games being delayed for rain when there isn't anyone to put the tarp out... I don't fully understand how the rule is written. It was against Duke, too, btw, which makes me laugh even harder, though I don't really care about Duke baseball.

EDIT: All-Star games are another exception entirely, because usually it really doesn't matter who wins, though with the WS home games being based on it now...

But this statement also has problems. There were lots of people who bet on that game. Also it matters to the players.

Duke cheated their way into a tie. A Duke official got a text message from Wichita, kansas saying inclement weather was coming. And Duke was loosing 8-6 in the top of the 12th and they didn't put the tarp down so the game had to be called and the score wnet back to 6-6.
