They can be. I love seeing the different countries, but don't care for all the dancing and stuff.
So excited! I watch very little of the US coverage since it's so edited and broken up. Luckily I get CBC (Canada!) which shows events much better and in full!

I quite enjoy the opening ceremony. Done well, there's some excellent production in them.
Also, can someone please add an 'I' to 'OFFICAL' in the title of this thread. Ridiculous the it hasn't been fixed. Thx.

It's not really news at all. It hasn't been popular world wide, really, and that's the issue. I think they can make a comeback, but it's going to take Major League Baseball and the world's best softball players putting together successful world-wide tournaments and regional tournaments outside of the Olympics, and drumming up interest.
Personally, I'd rather see Golf get a shot in the Olympics that keep trotting out the same 10 nations in baseball, two of which might come from not the Americas.

I'd like to see a change in how they do Tennis at the Olympics. I think they should do a mini davis cup type of thing as opposed to a tournament.
