I don't know if scheduling would be too big of a deal given that the games are only once a week. Sports where the games are more frequent would be a bigger problem. There's been rumours of NHL expansion to countries like Sweden, Finland and Russia, but the three-games-a-week schedule is probably the biggest issue. A European NHL division with teams in Stockholm, Moscow, Helsinki and Zurich (and maybe London or Berlin) would be exciting, but I'm sure they'd end up on long six-game road trips too frequently.
The NFL would probably work better for Europe.
