The story
Bad news for the tournament but probably the best call for Nadal. Wimbledon loses a bit of interest after this but it opens the door for other players like Roddick and Murray.

Federer will steamroll his way to another title. Nobody remotely challenged him last year until the final.

Sad to hear, but probably good for him in the long run. Also, its like a bonus for Federer

I'll still watch Wimbledon, but Nadal's injury is really going to hurt ratings this year. I would say Federer is going to steamroll the competition, but he'll defiently be favored. Anything can happen.

Federer knows that this is one of the last Wimbledons he'll play in top form (he's not getting any younger), and now he doesn't have Nadal to pester him. If someone was designing a player meant specifically to neutralize Federer, they'd create Rafael Nadal. Knowing that (and Federer does), he'll seize the chance to get another title. I don't think anyone really has more than a passing chance. Look for Roger to settle some scores if there are any for him to settle and to generally remind people (and himself) that he's probably the best tennis player in the world today.
Their match last year remains the greatest tennis match ever played, and one of the best sporting events as well. That we won't get a repeat is highly unfortunate, and yet somehow fitting, as there won't be anything to be compared to it anytime soon.

James Blake got popped today in straight sets, first round exit is a little surprising considering he made the final at Queens a week ago. Murray beat him like a drum there, but I thought he was starting to become less of a hard court specialist. I agree, Roger should have a pretty easy run to the final, but if he gets Murray there, it could be a 5-setter.

I think Roddick is going to power through, and end up in the final against Murray. That game, though, is a hard one to decide the outcome of.
