TPM is really my favorite star wars movie

until ROTS of course.
1.) Qui-gon is a commanding presence
2.) Obi-wan is swashbuckling and not timid.
3.) I found Anakin's story completely interesting...i enjoyed how fate brought all things together. Anakin is 9 and he seemed like one to me so i thought the actor was great.
4.) i thought they did an excellent job of foreboding things to come. I was like...man this poor little guys is going to be the infamous Darth Vader...how sad.
5.) The only great light saber duel to date. Maul was cool and Obi-Wan wasss pissed. I thought the older lights saber duel were really stiff.
I thought it had comedy, drama, and action. I think some think they are too cool to like Jar Jar so they decided to hate the whole thing. I absolutely loved it.

I like the TPM. Ok, its not the greatest movie ever, the dialogue is simple and the acting too, but ALL WORKS FINE BECAUSE ITS THE SPIRIT OF THE MOVIE! While in AOTC, they are trying to be serious (loves scenes) and they fail.
Special effects are the best in the Saga if you ask me. The duel is the best ever too. Its entertaining to watch!
Oh and the kid is not that bad. I especially love his facial expressions in the Pod race!

it is a great film though i can't say it's my favorite... to me it lays down a wonderful foundation and context for the rest of the 6 part saga... i think more fans will understand and appreciate it more once they put all 6 flicks together to see george's larger vision. it's like the first chapter of a book, you have to read the whole thing to appreciate the beginning!
anyhow, i love it!

It is a good setup for the rest of the series, but no way is it my favorite Star Wars movie. ANH & ESB are my favorites, but ROTS is starting to make grumblings as the best Star Wars film since 1980! Anyway everyone has a right to their opinion.

Glad that you liked the movie so much!
Let me ask you a question, did you like the movie because it was a more cheeful movie than the others? That it did try to have a sense of comedy?

I enjoy each STAR WARS Episode and each STAR WARS Trilogy and the STAR WARS Saga equally and fully.
