I am perfecty chilled. It is in fact the tail end of Winter here in antarctic Melbourne, and I'm bloody cold.
I am not worried about you having a shot at me, and I thank you for your kind words with regard to the story. I hope you continue to enjoy it.
An update will be forthcoming in 3 hours.

Another Update! Finally!
Hope everyone enjoys it. Things are heating up in the galaxy, and one boy is growing up amongst it, his mind adapting and assessing it, as an Evil continues to grow, mounting up to the becoming bloom....
"You human scum!"
The cry gargled out of the enraged Gran adolscent as his fist came crashing down on the temple of his victim.
Kane Lavos fell with a stumble of utter surprise as the stars quickly tunnelled his vision. He could see Sil jump in to help him from the side only to be deftly knocked away by the stronger Alien.
The Gran stood over him, a towering monolith of rage. "You're the son of the Senator, huh? Your dad is the one helping the Senate destroy the proud Gran people!"
Kane got up to one knee and looked into the Alien's eyes. "My father would never do something to harm another, you must be mist--"
"Lies!" Belowed the Gran as a few Barbarel's gathered around the commotion hissing in obvious agreement. "The senate and the Republic made the laws that mean my father's out of a job, just because he is a proud Gran! How come your bigot of a father didn't stop that?"
Kane's fist lanced out to land on the eye of the Gran before he knew he was doing it, his anger was so quick to defend his father. Although surprised, the Gran soon recovered, picking Kane by the shirt and slamming him into a nearby Wall.
"How DARE you, you damn human! You son of slime sn-" the Gran kept slamming him into the wall with every word, his anger building, building, as Kane felt blood in his mouth from some unknown source.
Sil was up again trying to pull the Gran off, but shrugged off again, Kane tried to defend himself but couldn't even see, he was losing sight!...
Suddenly he felt the weight slacken off him as the Gran screamed. Falling to the ground in a heap, he only looked up whe he heard Laura's horrified gasp from afar. The Gran lay in a similar heap, convulsing slightly in obvious and extreme pain.
Above him stood one of the teacher master's, known as Mr. Ghuran. Smirking down at the Gran boy and returning the electrode stick to his belt, he knelt beside Kane.
"You alright my boy? Don't you worry boy, I stopped the nasty alien child from hurting you. This vermin will find himself expelled tommorrow, I'll see to it. Unslightly lot, the whole bunch of 'em."
Kane gasped from the dizziness, but managed to shake his head despite the thermal detonator it set off behind his vision.
"Thank you sir, but sir, the boy's dad just lost his job, maybe he needs counselling or so-"
"Counselling? My boy, he is only an alien. Obviously from poor stock if his father can't even hold down a job. Save your pity for those who are worthy young boy."
Kane nodded weakly and then looked up to find Laura and Sil there to help carry him to the restroom to was the dirt off and the blood from his mouth.
"That dirty scummy Gran, what a no-good, rotten, dirty...dirty...ALIEN." erupted Sil, obviously unsettled that he hadn't been able to help Kane in the fight.
"They certainly breed them to hit hard." Replied Kane as he spat out the last of the bloody water from his rinsed mouth.
"No kidding. I know a few good aliens, but not many. Makes you think how the Republic has lasted for so long, doesn't it?"
Kane looked into the mirror, seeing the already bruising eye, and thought of how quick to anger the Gran had been. No civility, no real distinction from a mere animal. Just a hostile bunch of chemicals that could only pretend to deserve sentinence. It was food for thought, and the anger at actually seeing his injuries put to rest his earlier instinct to give the damn Gran ANY benefit of the doubt.
"Sil, more then that, it makes me understand why the Republic is falling apart now."
Sil looked at his friend for a moment. Although Kane had always shown more of a comprehension of politics, they were both nearly 15 and Sil's interests and understanding of the galaxy were almost on a par. "You think it's that bad?"
Kane shook his head. "You saw how the Seperatists have been behaving. Talk of them forming a Confederacy together you know, a united front."
"The Chancellor would never allow it."
"He may not have a choice." Kane bit back, as the two walked outside to look at the milling tumult of the playground after the scuffle. It didn't attract much attention: Aliens actings like Aliens were supposed to was hardly surprising. The Media might latch on and further the case for class segregation, but that would be the extent of it.
"If the Confederacy and their alien lackey's oppose the Republic, the Chancellor will stop them. Even the Jedi will be there for us, if they get their act together."
Kane nodded thoughtfully at that last. "The Jedi are too volitile to be used as an army, but you're right, we may not have a choice. I might ask Dad about it tonight, he'll be able to help me understand."
"You've got an advantage there Kane, you can go home and ask a Senator what's going on." Sil smiled.
"What's more you might get a straight answer from him." joined in Laura as she joined them after they had walked out of the toilet block.
"Hey Laura." Kane smiled weakly, trying to affect the male bravado that was the currency of respect for boys that age in the school yard.
"Don't you get all tough guy around me Lavos, I've known you for more then a couple of years you know." She replied tersely. "Now let me look at your eye...your mum is going to have a fit!"
Sil interjected to save his failing male brethren. "He'll be fine Laura, Kane's strong!"
Kane nodded emphatically. "I'm fine really, takes more of a Gran to take out this guy." He wondered how much the words actually did convince him of the truth in the hollow words, because he almost felt the smile of assurance that he wore was real as well.
"Uh-huh." Laura returned with a dour expression. Obviously she didn't share his conviction. "I reckon we get you home Kane, not like we need to go the Politics tutorial this afternoon with the way you two back and forth."
Sil obviously still felt in a protesting mood, because he piped up almost immeadiately. "Hey, it's mostly him! And you! I'd prefer to go play another game of Shockball myself."
"I'd love to help, but..." Kane gestured helplessly but mock-humorously to his purpling eye. "I don't think I'm fit to play out the game."
Sil grinned and gave a friendly tap punch to Kane's shoulder as Laura guided them both to the nearest hoverbus. Sitting Kane down then affecting the ubiquitious female presence that seemed to occur when someone was hurt or injured, she began to hover no less then a phon from Kane for the whole trip.
Obviously Kane wasn't in the mood to be mothered. "I'm not going to die you know, no need to fuss."
Laura's face darkened. "Sorry for trying to help! You just had your face ripped off and handed back to you by another angry boy-"
"Angry Alien." Sil corrected her.
"Angry boy", perserved Laura, not pressing the point. "and if I didn't get you back to Juuris immeadiately, she'd lynch me. It is entirely selfish on my behalf, I assure you."
Kane softened. "Thanks Laura, didn't mean to be snappy."
Sil rolled his eyes. "Oh my stars, your sith-trained aren't you? Can we cut the mush already?"
"What mush?!" demanded both Kane and Laura defensively as one, turning to face Sil whose grin already expressed how pleased he was to have garnered such a reaction.
"That mush, you love birds."
To most kids, such a comment can cause grevious embarassment, anger, and hostility. At the age of 15, it may as well of been a proton torpedeo dropped in their laps.
"love birds? Boy I should give you a darn matching eye Sil, a real pusy one to match what lies between your ears."
Laura nodded emphatically. "And when Kane's finished doing that, I'll get to your other eye."
Sil's smile, if possible, may of broadened. "No need to get all defensive guys, unless of course you have something to defend."
Laura's eyes narrowed. "Yeah? jealous are you Sil?"
It was Kane's turn to grin as Sil's facade began to crumble. "Ah...look! We're here."
Kane chuckled at the narrow escape as they all walked into his apartment block. Sil said his goodbyes and wished Kane a speedy recovery before beginning to leave.
"You don't need to take me up, he didn't break my legs." joked Kane half-seriously.
"Ah, but I want to Lavos. I'm sure you'd do the same for me If I was in a fight."
Surpressing a smile at the thought of the petite thinker Laura ever engaging in a fight with anyone over anything - or even more ludicrous, someone finding a reason to have a fight with her - Kane just nodded his assent.
They arrived at his door and Kane turned to thank her for the last time.
"Not a problem Kane, I've said that. You go get some sleep and I'll see you at school tommorrow."
"What, don't I get a get-well kiss?" Kane joked.
Laura's eyes sparkled mischievously. "What, and give us something to defend? Perish the thought."
With a twirl she scampered off to the turbolift, and Kane turned to his door. He hadn't been serious anyway. Well, not entirely serious.
Breathing in deep, he mustered his energy for the coming storm. Opening the door, he entered.
"Mum, before you say it, I'm fine...."
Kane woke up with a start. His face had healed and a few months had passed, he had managed to get accelerated to the final year of his schooling along with about 20 other kids, thankfully including Laura and Sil. He had been working furiously to keep up, an eye as with all sapient beings at the time, firmly on the growing threat of violence.
On the Confederacy.
He could hear his mum gasp as he ran out to the main room.
"Mother?"
She turned to him her face cradled in a hand, upset flowing on her face. "Oh Kane, no. You don't need to see this."
Frowning, he went up to the holoprojector and focused on the newscast, holding up a hand to forstall his mother's comments.
"An attack? On Senator Amidala?" He turned in alarm as he looked to his mother who nodded.
"Where's dad?!" Kane exclaimed, and Juuris shook her head.
"He's fine Kane, I've already called him. He was in a meeting with Bail Organa and other members of the diplomatic solution bloc. This is seen as an attack on the Peace process. Padme Amidala was one of the strongest voices...."
Kane's face hardened. "Someone wants War. The damned Confederacy are-"
"So you assume it was them?"
"Mother, don't be naive, who else?"
His mother's mouth tightened in what he assumed was obstinance but only time would prove to be a maternal fear for her son. Yet another number, a brilliant number, to be swayed by the verbal web of deceit that was part and parcel of the Republic. She didn't speak, words hollow in light of the tragedy, she didn't look; her eyes as untrusting as her barely trained Force capacity allowed for.
"Kane, always look on the other side of the fence. Sometimes you may be surprised at the alternative possibilities the Universe may yield."
Kane looked imperiously up his nose at Juuris, the lady who both inspired and perplexed him. A beautiful complex of enigma and grace, of quizzical intelligence and gentle diplomacy. How could she be so misled by the lies of Seperatists? Or perhaps it was his failing....but no, he had thought long and hard. Thinking, thinking.
Thinking.
Thinking.
Thinking.
It made him powerful. Knowledge defeated any brawny alien, any day of the week. It would serve him greatly, if he only continued to amass his knowledge, a databank of possibility driven by a logical process of predatory efficency. Falleen blood coursing through veins thought by their host to be pure human blood, unaware of what racial mix gave rise to his ruthlessly advanced intelligence.
Knowledge empowered him.
Knowledge would set him free.
"Mother, you know I respect you. Your views help give me a perspective seldom found elsewhere. But know that the Republic is falling apart, know that the seperatists are evil insurgents against the RIGHTFUL leaders of this galaxy, and at best, they are a ragtag bunch of criminals and corporate lackey's, cowards serving their own interests at the devestating expense of Republican citizens. They spout rhetoric of a false idealogy whilst sneering at the moral decay of our own society. Letting it continue will only advance their evil."
His mother looked on with a helpless sadness. "Can you hear yourself? What happened to you Kane, Education was supposed to liberate your mind, not charter it."
"I am liberated."
A sad nod was stopped in it's tracks as Juuris sized up the effect it may have on her still young son. "Then why do you sound like a speech from the Kuati senator? Or the Fondorian Senator? Or Ord Mantell's senator? Deceitful lies that they use to sway the populace Kane, sway it to one thing only. The death of Democracy."
Kane sneered at that, his true thoughts and deliberations let loose. "What use Democracy if it allows the greedy and corrupt to persecute their fellow citizens? We need leadership mother. Strong leadership. I'm going to make a difference, I swear it on my faith in Cart'ras' third law of hyper-spatial dynamics. I'll see that the galaxy is safe."
Walking to his room to read some texts to get his mind of the dispute and away from political rants as inspired by in his mind deliberation as in Juuris' mind indoctrination, his mother's head lowered, her face crestfallen.
Juuris watched as knowledge chart'd her son.
She watched as knowledge caged his mind.

I should be shamed and shunned for not reading this any sooner! Let my punishment begin right after these few words of praise:
EXCELLENT, FABULOUS, GREAT, MORE MORE MORE!
I have one question though, is Laura a recent character or one from the game?
Look PoT! I linked your story along with Yun's in my sig! I was able to get both in it! Yeah me!

Awwww.... thanks for your support Mitth. Hopefully I can get an update in quickly.
I have one question though, is Laura a recent character or one from the game?
A very good question. She is a new character, with a very strong tie in to the WOTG franchise. Those who know the RPG and have followed Lavos' character in it may get an inkling here from his past about his state of mind in the future....
