Poor Leia is going to be worried sick for Luke. Next post Leia and Han? Really? You mean you are going to finally post that? OMG it's a miracle.
Only 4 post left?! Wow things are about to move very fast.

My goodness this is fabulous!
I cannot tell you how much I love this (It's 2:47 in the morning, so that's your hint).
You write very well, and I was surprised at how masterfully you did Yoda! Many people butcher his speech, but you got him down perfectly!
As long as we're making predictions, I imagining that Luke is going to have to force-drag Mara off a burning Death Star. I can just see her kicking and screaming the whole way!
Anyhoo, I'll just have to see! ~Marsa

That was so bittersweetly sad...
Nasty cliffie, though, but I shouldn't talk. I love imposing them on people.
So, Luke's going to face Vader...*licks lips in anticipation*

dianethx:
‘a melancholy kind of despair’ describes this scene very well. And, incidentally, also describes Luke’s emotional state at the moment.
Yes, things will be happening very soon…
Jedi_BMK:
Yes, there’s a showdown brewing. A biiiig one… Leia kind of needed that push, didn’t she? I think Luke sees a lot of what he had and lost with Mara in his sister’s relationship. He doesn’t want her to lose Han the way he lost Mara, and so he gave her a bit of helping hand…
It will be interesting to see where Mara's true loyalties lie when the inevitable confrontation between Luke and the two Sith goes down.
Interesting that people are expecting Mara to be there when Luke confronts his father…
And Luke’s an understated kind of guy, I think.
Thanks for reading!
RebelMom:
He needs all the hugs he can get.
Glad you like Luke. He’s very likeable, I think, even though he’s so miserable. Under all the wariness he’s really a good person… just one who has been treated very badly by some of the people he loves.
Poor guy.
Jedi_Falcon:
Thank you!
maramijade:
If she lets herself
is the issue… Is Mara capable of that?
Guess we’ll see…
obaona:
I never know how to respond to your reviews…
Yes, Luke is a very different person with Leia than he is with Obi-Wan or his father. I think it’s because he trusts Leia – something that he doesn’t have with anyone else. Leia doesn’t judge him, doesn’t demand anything of him; she just accepts him and loves him for who he is. No one else in Luke’s life has ever given him that. So with her, he doesn’t have to hide himself, because he doesn’t fear that she will use his emotions. He knows she would never manipulate him that way. Unlike some people…
As for his reaction to Ben’s words… yes, you have a really good point about how things wouldn’t be so simple for this Luke. He’s torn between his desperate desire for acknowledgement from his father and the sense of duty that Ben has instilled in him from childhood. He still doesn’t entirely believe Ben about Vader being irredeemable. But whether he’s right in that…
And Luke was also baiting Ben just a little there. It’s a conversation that they’d had before, and he already knew what all of Ben’s responses would be to his objections. But he raised them all the same, just to make Ben squirm a little.
Payback for manipulating Luke for so long.
The hug was real – Ben’s true affection coming through. He’s sending Luke off, possibly to his death; he doesn’t like doing it at all, but – to him – it’s necessary, even inevitable. It’s a very difficult moment for Ben.
Whew.
And thank you! So glad you’re enjoying the story.
Jesina:
For a while there it seemed almost like Luke doesn't WANT to make it off the Death Star before it blows up.
Almost seems that way, doesn’t it? It’s like he doesn’t think he’ll make it off...
And thank you! I like slipping in movie allusions if I can.
Jadeling:
Well, one of those posts is very long… is that any consolation? Leia clears it up pretty decisively. No more deliberating for those two…
Thanks for reading!
LadyZ:
Oh, this is only the beginning…
Wait’ll you see what’s coming up in the next few posts…
RedGold:
To bad nobody told Luke that killing Vader is completely different from killing Anakin Skywalker, his father.
Yes, too bad…
GreatOne:
Yes, I have a feeling you’re going to like a certain section in the next post…
kyp_durron_fan_2009
Great to have you along! Thanks for taking the time to read.
Jedi_2B:
Thank you so much!
Glad you’re enjoying it.
skywalker64089:
*scratches head* Is this a cliffhanger? Wait’ll you see the ending of the next post. Now THAT’S a cliffie.
And you’re right – Luke’s definitely treading a thin line at the moment. Light and dark, vengeance and justice, hate and love… yup, lots of conflict.
VaderLVR64:
Yes, it was a sad post. And Luke is facing a lot of difficult questions, many of which of which have no easy answer… Thanks for reading!
Odd-Thomas:
Great to know you’re reading and enjoying the story.
Thank you!
Mirax-Jade:
*winces* Your brother’s hitting your head? *shakes head* Brothers, huh? I’ve got two of ‘em, so I know what it’s like.
And you don’t like cliffies? You’re really going to hate the next post…
SenatorLeia73:
LOL, it’s been a while since we’ve been back to those guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if people had forgotten they were in this story.
But yup, they’re in the next post…
Marsa:
LOL, sorry to keep you up.
Thanks for taking the time to read! Mmm, I’d probably agree about Yoda. Most of the stories I’ve read with him in them turn him into a bit of a clown… which can be funny, nothing wrong with that, but I wanted to do a serious Yoda. Glad you liked the old troll!
And… Luke Force-dragging Mara off the Death Star? LOL, I can picture that. And picture an enraged Mara subsequently trying to murder him…
Thanks for reading!
Sithspawn:
Yup, there’s a confrontation coming up… slightly different to how you might expect it to go, however…
Thanks to everyone for the great reviews!
The next post will be up in the next couple of days – probably towards the end of the week.

One week later, Leia strode up the ramp of the
Millennium Falcon
. Inside, the ship was as scuffed as ever – but Leia had ceased noticing long ago, when she first realised how like his ship Han was. Or was it the ship that resembled him?
Outward appearances were vastly deceiving in both.
Leia turned into the main hold and smiled as her eyes fell on Han. Not that outward appearances were displeasing... Seated before the naviconsole, his booted feet up, a datapad on his lap, Han looked as relaxed as ever, sprawled with that lazy grace of his. Leia walked over quietly, and in one movement, swept his feet from the console. They thudded to the floor, and Han gaped at her. “What—” he began, but that was as far as he got before Leia lowered herself onto his lap, drew his face to hers, and kissed him.
When she pulled back, Han was staring at her with an expression of acute bewilderment. “Leia…?” he said.
She kissed his lips again. Leaning closer, she looked into his deep brown eyes and said, “Luke is my brother.” She watched his eyes widen, the emotions playing through them so vivid, so beautifully vibrant. Shock, amazement, disbelief… and at last, a tentative wonder.
“…brother?” he repeated, and she smiled.
“Brother,” she confirmed, and laid her hand on his cheek fondly. His skin was warm, slightly rough beneath her fingers. “Nerfherder,” she murmured.
A grin split his face: still marvelling, but brighter than the noonday sun. “Brother,” he said.
She laughed, and he laughed, and she kissed him again. When they parted, Han lifted his hand and brushed his fingers across her cheek. “Leia…” he breathed.
She lowered her head, leaning her forehead against his. His arms slipped around her, gentle and firm, just as they should be. “Your brother,” he said again. “That means… Vader’s your father?”
Disbelief rippled under his words. She lifted her head again, and met his eyes. “Yes,” she said softly.
He touched her chin with his thumb, gently tilting her face downward. He looked at her with those warm dark eyes for a long moment, and said, “Now that’s a story I’ve gotta hear.” Leia looked at him, and he smiled, the cocky smirk that melted her heart. He kissed her, his hands slipping down to her waist, his touch tender. “Later,” he mumbled in her ear.
Her lips curving with joyous relief, Leia pulled him closer yet.
The next few weeks passed quickly, in a flurry of preparations for the attack on the Death Star. Last-minute groups of ships were arriving from all corners of the galaxy, with crews that needed coordinating and assigning. Leia spent much of her time in conference with Mon Mothma, Mon Calamarian Admiral Ackbar, and defected Imperial General Madine, finalising the plans for the Rebel offensive. Ben Kenobi watched the proceedings, but didn’t seem inclined to take an active role.
Four days from the attack, Leia received a message on her secured comm-channel. It bore the markings of heavy encryption, and as she keyed it open, Leia experienced a strange foreboding. It was a voice message. Ignoring her sudden reluctance, Leia played it.
Luke’s voice floated out, sounding very strange. It was distorted from the encrypting, but that wasn’t what made Leia’s stomach flutter in apprehension. Luke sounded anxious, and she’d never heard that in his voice. Not ever. Not even when she’d first met him, and pushed him up against the wall with a blaster, threatening to use it in an instant if he ever dared call her
sister
.
How long ago that seemed.
“Leia,” his voice came from the comm system. He was speaking quickly, his words almost rushing together. “Listen to me. I’ve discovered information that… You have to call off the attack. The Death Star is operational. Operational, Leia. It’s a trap. Your information was placed deliberately. Do you copy? Call off the attack.”
There was a slightly pause, and when Luke spoke again, his voice was marginally calmer. “You will not hear from me again, Leia. My position has been compromised. This message is the only…” A breath, a long pause. “I love you, Leia,” Luke said at last. “Whatever happens, don’t give up. Never give up.” There was a rustling, and the tone sounded for the end of the message.
The comm system flicked itself off, and Leia sat in stunned silence for a long minute. Then she shot to her feet, scooped up the comm reader and near-ran to the Admiral’s office. She played the message to him, and then to him and Mon Mothma, and then to both of them and General Crix Madine.
“Well,” Mon Mothma said, when the message played itself through for the fifth time. “Your thoughts?”
“I say we go ahead with the attack,” Madine said, after a brief silence. He pushed off the wall he’d been leaning against at the back of Admiral Ackbar’s office. “This isn’t enough of a reason to call it off.”
“I concur,” rumbled Admiral Ackbar, in his gravelly voice. “This may well be the only opportunity we receive to permanently destroy the Empire.”
Mon Mothma nodded gracefully. “We will take extra precautions,” she said, and looked at Leia. “The warning will not go to waste.” Leia stared at her.
Madine made to leave, and Leia came to her feet. “Are you insane?” she demanded, too angry for once too care about composure. “Luke just told us that it’s a trap – and you want to just fly into it?”
Mon Mothma exchanged a glance with Admiral Ackbar. “This is an opportunity we cannot afford to waste, Leia,” she said quietly. “Even if it is a trap. When you calm down, you will see this too.”
“Even if—?” Leia echoed. Something in the way the other woman had said that… “You think Luke’s
lying
?”
Another glance. “Your brother has been most useful, Leia. But you know that the Alliance Council has never fully trusted him. He refuses to commit to the Rebellion. In his position, with the knowledge he has, vacillation is a very dangerous thing. His loyalty seems… uncertain.”
“He—” Leia found herself spluttering in her anger, and forced herself to take a breath. When she spoke again, her voice was cold and tight. “Formally committed or not, Luke has gone to great risks for the Rebellion. Risks as great as those undertaken by those in this room. It is very likely that he was forced to break his cover to access this information. And you intend to ignore it?”
Mon Mothma looked pained. “Leia, if your brother has indeed been captured, then I am very sorry. But he knew the risks he faced, and chose to maintain his position regardless. I can assure you that this message will be given due consideration. We must not act hastily.” She drew a breath. “As it stands, there is no evidence to support his claim. None of our other operatives have reported any inconsistencies. All we have is Luke Skywalker’s word.”
Leia closed her eyes, turning away. “And we all know what that’s worth,” she said bitterly. “Apparently, nothing. After all he’s done for the Rebellion, we cannot even give him the dignity of our belief.”
She stood. “Leia—” Mon Mothma said, but Leia had heard enough. She pushed blindly past, out into the corridor. She was so intent on her anger that she didn’t see the person in front of her; didn’t notice him until she walked into him.
Gentle hands caught her arms and Ben Kenobi’s voice said, “What’s the matter, Princess?”
Leia took a breath, seized his arm and pulled him into her office. She told him everything in the message, the reaction of the Rebel leaders.
“I just… can’t bear to think of what they’re doing to him,” she finished. “If he’s been compromised… Palpatine hates spies. A betrayal so close…” Leia’s voice trailed away, fear burning hot and sick inside of her for her brother, her only family.
Ben Kenobi was silent for a long time. She looked at him, and he seemed a great deal older than he had minutes earlier. His expression was very strange, impossible to read. “It is up to the Force now,” the old man murmured, and even softer: “May it be merciful.”
He turned and left the room. Leia closed her eyes.
Somehow she made her way to her room. She was there when Han came in later, staring through the viewscreen at distant stars. She heard his footsteps; recognised the long, sure gait but did not turn. He stopped on the threshold. “Leia?”
She closed her eyes, then turned. “Hold me,” she mumbled, reaching for him blindly. “Just hold me.” She felt his confusion. But he put his arms around her regardless, his embrace gentle. Leia pressed her face to his tunic and wept for her brother.
And as they touched down on Sanctuary Moon three days later, part of the strike force to destroy the Imperial shield generator, Leia squeezed her eyes shut and prayed that, against all odds, he was safe. Han reached and took her hand, and she clasped his fingers gratefully.
The Force be with you, Luke,
she thought.
The Force be with you, wherever you are.

I'm hanging on a cliff here. What's happened with Luke?
Oh, I really liked the way Leia told Han about Luke.
Now, let's hope that Luke will still be alive to see them again.

I really liked the way Leia told Han about Luke. I also loved that the Rebel leaders didn't have enough faith in Luke - after all he had done for them - to accept his word on that.
And Ben Kenobi seemed strangely quiet, as if he were planning something - like walking into the Death Star to find Luke perhaps?
We shall see.
Great job. I really love this story.

Well crafted interaction between Han and Leia when you finally had her reveal the truth. Slightly humorous and very fitting for those two.
And now, the Rebels are walking straight into a trap. Of course, it's not like they have a choice, but still...
Hmm...
Now I'll be left wondering until next time how Luke got found out and just what sort of retribution he will get. Being forced to watch the Rebellion get crushed in hopes of luring him back to the Dark Side, perhaps? Or, possibly, threatening his sister?

Then you had to leave that cliffy! I would call you evil, but too many people have called me that. *Sigh* I hope Luke is all right. Or at the very least that Mara's there to take care of him. That boy needs a whole lot of lovin' and she should give it to him. Can't wait for your next update, Knight_Aragorn.
