	I know this song has been done, but I'm offering my humble version up also. I have the cd in my player in the car now, so I was inspired again to revisit the notion of trying my hand at a songfic for the second time. Again I herald the talents of those like AnakinsHeir, who make this look easy - it's not. The first time I heard this song on the radio, even before becoming a huge Evanescence fan, I immediately thought of THE scene of ESB with Darth Vader holding a gloved hand over the abyss to Luke. Reaching desperately for his salvation. Like he now has something to make his life mean something. As misguided as it may be... Bless his heart. As I stand watching you, the shadow of myself hanging onto the edge your world, I admit what has always been there underneath my thoughts – I was a pawn. I have always been a pawn to him. His rule has wrought nothing but the imbalance I’m swore to rid. This has cost me more than my soul, it cost me my future. This will not stop me, Luke. Now that I’ve found you I will not rest until I have you with me. It makes a wound I thought long healed raw and festering. Again, the burning desperation to find him rears its head and I feel nothing but the blind lust to find my son. My only link with you. I have no doubt that we will see it come to fruition today, and may the Force be with us. Whatever happens. Like my father before me.” As I lay here and listen to those words, something inside me stirs. Something born before time itself. I watch the terrible events unfold that I have feared since discovering you. Something that started as a tiny flicker of light starts to spread and before I know it, I’ve stepped into my destiny. As I hurl my Master to his death, the only thought that comes to me is that my son is safe. I always thought there would be some momentous, thundering cacophony that would bring my purpose into being. My destiny as the Chosen One would be heralded by the falling of worlds or the crashing of stars. And there you have it, it is only you, but in the end, that is enough. 	You wrote it! Great job! From the first time I heard "Bring me to Life," it has been the Vader/Luke song for me.
