	For those of you who are reading my previous story this will give you some background on those characters. For those of you who have never read that story welcome and I hope you enjoy and will read my other story Title: Star Wars: Unexplored Space The Chronicles of a Jedi in Hiding--Attack on a Republic Cruiser Author: Darth_Djinn Time Frame: The Saga -- 1 week after the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire and the Sith-- Characters: OC--Azur El-Ra a Bothan Jedi Knight Summary: One of many adventures my character will be taking over the next several years. “Master Yamela, two squadrons of fighters coming up hard on your starboard side.” “Azur take blue squadron and attack the port side of that battle cruiser. Master Jules lead red and gold squadron in a direct frontal attack against the shields. I will lead green and black squadrons and take out the clone fighters. Remember just disable the shields and the weapons systems, we need the ship in one piece so that we can use it.” “Roger that green leader. Blue squadron, follow me. Master Jules, I will meet you inside.” Could all this be happening? Just last week I was training with Master Jules in my advanced Vaapad classes, now I’m in command of twelve Jedi knights. I’m only a padawan, but my piloting skills are only surpassed by Anakin Skywalker, former Jedi Knight, now the Betrayer and Sith Lord called Darth Vader. In the Bothan culture I am barely considered an adult at 11 standard years, but here I’m a Commander in this “war”. War, ha, more like a one-sided slaughter- a purge- a Jedi purge. Master Yamela, a human male, was in charge now with the death of Master Windu and the disappearance of Master Yoda. He reminds me of Master Kenobi in stature, with Master Vos’ hair. That hair, the padawans had a nickname for Master Vos, Mop-top, I’m sure he knew of the nick-name, but he never acted as such. Master Jules, on the other hand, was a Zabrak female. If I had to guess her age I wouldn’t have a clue her soft looks were ageless. What few tattoos she had were intricate in design. They followed along her cheekbones to her lips, curved up to her eyes, and terminated at her tear ducts. She may be beautiful by most cultures’ standards, but no one would question her mastery of Vaapad, and her ferocity with a lightsaber was matched by very, very few. Master Yamela had come up with this attack plan, though risky had the best probability of working. I would take a squadron and attack the weapons systems, Master Jules would take two squadrons and attack the shield generators, and Master Yamela would keep the clone pilots off our rears. If we completed our first objective we would land on the cruiser and meet in the command center of the ship. “Blue 2, Blue 3 cover my rear I’m going in.” “Roger that Blue leader.” “Roger that Azur.” Blue 2 and Blue 3 were two of the knights I had spend the most time in the Temple with. They had been knighted just before this mission. Blue 2, who had called me by my name was a fellow classmate in the Vaapad class, while Blue 3 had learned how to fly under me so he was used to calling me what ever color leader. I had asked for them specifically, everyone else had been assigned. --Weapons systems locked.-- “Blue 2 attack the forward batteries with Blue 4, Blue 5, Blue 6. Blue 3 attack the port side batteries; take Blue 7, Blue 10, and Blue 11.” “Ah, Mop-top squad huh?” “Roger that Blue 3 you know those boys best. I’ll take Blue 8, Blue 9, and Blue 12 against the starboard side batteries. Blue Leader out.” Mop-top squad I had almost forgot about that. I remember what happened like it was yesterday. We were doing training exercises. They were flying low over Coruscant, too low. As they were doing maneuvers several clone gunships came up behind them. Radioing something about restricted air space they ordered them to land immediately. They didn’t listen, in fact they started giving the clones a run for their credits. The name for the squad came from the fact it was Master Vos that disabled the training fighters. He promised the clone commander that he would punish them. He did, he gave them all hair just like his. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen. Thus the Mop-top squad was born. “Blue Leader.” “Go ahead Master Jules.” “Forward shield are down commence your attack.” “Roger that, Blue leader out. Alright, let’s do this. Assume attack formations.” Like clockwork, everything went flawlessly. The weapons systems were disabled in tandem, first forward, then port side, finally starboard side. Even with the completion of the first objective, the second objective was still not likely to be successful. The very clones we had commanded and fought beside were now our enemy. We landed on the port side docking bay, while Master Jules would land in the starboard side docking bay. “Move out!” Almost at once all 13 lightsabers ignited. We had decided before the mission we would change all of our lightsabers to blue to match Blue Squadron. Childish I know but most of us were barely knights. The only exception was my lightsabers I had a blue and a green lightsaber. They had been modified so I had some options if needed. Alarms were blaring. Reaching out with the Force I can hear the clone troopers “locking and loading” preparing for the impending battle upon the opening of the blast doors. “Get into formation” The blast doors open. Clone troopers come flooding thru the blast doors and immediately start firing their blaster rifles. Slowly moving forward, we deflect the shots back at the troopers. Blue 10 is the first Jedi casualty. He disappears into the Force. We slowly advanced forward finally reaching the troopers themselves. As we parried attacks and cut through them with our lightsabers we finally reached the main corridor. At both ends of the corridor were more troopers. It’s hard to feel your making any headway thru them when they all look EXACTLY the same. As we ran down the corridor we Force Pushed some and deflected shots at those who continued to fire on us. After what seemed an eternity we arrived at the designated meeting area. Coming down the opposite corridor was Master Jules and what appeared to be four members of gold squadron and three members of red squadron. They were still under heavy fire so I ordered my men to remain where they were. I rushed forward with my lightsabers ignited. Force jumping into the fray I interlocked my lightsabers into a double-bladed lightsaber. My Vaapad training took over and very shortly all resistance had been eliminated. “Azur, I owe you one” “You don’t owe me a thing; you’re the one who helped me modify my lightsabers so that I could do just what I did” “Well anyway let’s get to that Command Center.” “Let’s go! I only wish we had a few more Jedi along for the battle.” Between where we met up and the Command Center I think we ran into the whole Republic clone army and a few thousand extra. After we finally got thru all those clones, two squads of ARC troopers were waiting for us. I ended up in hand to hand combat with one ARC trooper who had gotten hold of a vibrowhip and had mastered it quite well. I took quite a few hits from the whip; using my Vaapad training I absorbed the pain into the Force and went after him with my lightsabers. The battle raged on until I finally got him to the ground. “Surrender Clone!!” “My orders are to exterminate the traitorous Jedi.” “Surrender and join us and you will live, what is your designation Clone” “Alpha-1138.” “Alpha-1138, will you surrender or must I kill you.” “I have my orders...but I will join you.” Welcome to the resistance, can you fly this vessel and do you think any of your men will join us?” “Let’s find out, Commander.” I was surprised to find out that the majority of the ARC troopers were willing to join us. Alpha-1138 later explained that his two squads had fought beside the Jedi and did not understand the orders to exterminate their commanders it went against their training. They agreed to become the flight crew for the ship and to help us take the ship. Alpha-1138 then made us aware as we arrived at the entrance to the Command Center that it was guarded by an elite force of clones called Commando Clones. They worked in squads of four. “There are four squads behind that door.” “What’s the best method of attacking them, Alpha-1138?” “Well, General Jules, when we open the blast doors one squad will be right in front of the open door. One on both flanks and one at the flight control center. You need to be ready for the fight of your lives. Their sole purpose is to achieve their objective.” As tough as the previous battles had been, nothing prepared any of us for the tenacity of the Republic Commandos. The Commandos were taking the ARC troopers out left and right and several Jedi before we had them subdued. We were all tired, beaten, and bruised; but we had claimed the Republic Battle Cruiser. “This is Jedi Council Ship The Protectorate. Master Yamela, you and your squadrons are clear to land on the port side landing bay” “Thank you, Master Jules.” First things first we had to get the weapons and shields back online. After that we went about the business of getting the ARC troopers into the rhythm of piloting the ship. Once all the menial tasks were done we conducted the first meeting of the Interim Jedi Council that would serve as the governing body until such a time as the Republic was restored and the Order could come out of hiding. The primary subject of that first meeting was to set forth a number of rules that we were to live by to ensure the protection of the remains of the Order from the Empire and the Betrayer. These rules became known as the Protectorate Directives. The final discussion was where to go. “Master Yamela, members of the Council; I believe the only place we will be safe is unexplored space, constantly moving. I really see no alternatives. Does the Council have any suggestions?” “Master Jules, the Council believes as you do. Alpha-1138...” ...Yes, General Yamela... “Prepare ship for hyperspace jump to the edge of unexplored space.” ...Aye, Aye General... -----signature----- For Mirax80... MEOW!!! 	I have to agree with everyone else. Nice space battle dialog. I like the whole "Jedi Commando" thing going on here. It is a war after all. May your tales of the "Mop Top squad" have many a read.
