Okay everyone, now to bring on my latest update!!!

Arc’s green blade sputtered and hissed as the Dark Lord attacked. They leapt back and forth, weapons hissing and sputtering. They attacked and defended against each other. Arc was using the Ataro style of combat, whereas Vader was using the Djem So discipline. Arc kept moving, keeping Vader in one spot. Vader managed a few glancing blows, but all they really did was singe Arc’s cloak. Unfortunately for the Jedi Master, he wasn’t doing any better. The 501st watched as they kept attacking and defending, the emerald and ruby blades tearing through the darkness as they pressed each other closer to the outside areas of the Temple. Arc spun and Vader met him. The Sith Lord began pressing his advantage of greater power to start wearing Xivix down. Arc realized what he was doing and altered his tactics accordingly. Instead of aiming his blade to deflect the next attack, he sidestepped and lowered his blade’s point at the same time. The result of this was a sharp squeal when Arc’s blade caught itself on Vader’s right arm, which happened to have been the one replaced after the duel on Mustafar so many months ago. Vader’s mechanical hand squealed and twitched, and the lightsaber fell down to the floor. Arc kicked Vader in the face and he slid on the floor, sliding right in front of the clones. Arc bolted before the stormtroopers opened fire. It wasn’t long before he heard the clattering of their boots as they chased him. He shut down his saber, heading straight for the Temple gates.

As soon as he bolted out into the Coruscant night, he was quickly surrounded by six stormtroopers. Unfortunately, his lightsaber was clipped to his belt, and the back-up blaster he carried was out of reach too. The instant he twitched, they would blast him to bits. The Zabrak Jedi Master was in a very bad position. Suddenly, his blaster flipped upwards into the air. Both Arc and the clones followed it, then a rain of blaster bolts came down, hitting three of the clones. Then a shadow flipped down from a ledge, a sapphire blue lightsaber igniting with a hiss, and it landed, cutting into a stormtrooper. In a flash, the saber disappeared, then reappeared impaled in another trooper’s helmet, then retreated. The shadow moved so fast that the clone couldn’t follow it and he was surprised when the point of a sapphire lightsaber protruded from his chest. The shadow shut off the weapon and then looked to Arc. “We must get away from the Palace, now,” he said.

Arc was startled by the sound of the voice, but he followed. They finally found a nice, empty alley and they ducked into it. Finally, Arc turned to his rescuer. “Aeon Fothe? Is it really you?” The shadow pulled back his hood, revealing a rather handsome human face. Dark brown hair was rather shaggy and it gave the impression that the man had not had an opportunity to cut it, or shave, as evidenced by the very light beard.

The man nodded. “I’m impressed Master Xivix. I didn’t think you would remember me.”

To be quite honest, Arc remembered Aeon Fothe quite well. The young man had been his apprentice during the opening years of the Clone Wars. He was twenty years old during the second year of the war, and was a candidate for promotion to the level of Jedi Knight, but Aeon appeared before the Jedi Council one day. Aeon told the Council that he didn’t want to be part of the Order anymore, that his needs in the Force were leading him elsewhere. Arc had secretly thought that it had to do with a certain female Padawan that Aeon had been supposedly interested in, but when Fothe had left without so much as a goodbye to her, he decided that it was something else. Some Jedi felt that Aeon had wanted to turn to the Dark Side and fight against the Jedi, but when he totally disappeared, that theory was thrown out. Arc had heard rumors of a so-called “Shadowknight” who had been somewhat of a vigilante enforcer in the bowels of Coruscant, but the Jedi had never found him. Seeing his former apprentice now, he knew that he had found the “Shadowknight.”

“Master, I apologize for taking so long. But I had to leave the Order, I had to get out and find the full nature of the Force. I’m sorry, but I do not believe that there is a ‘light’ and ‘dark’ side to the Force. The Jedi are wrong. There is only the single, unifying Force. You may not believe it, but it’s true. Anakin Skywalker has found that balance. Now, the Chosen One will have to take down the ones who pose the greatest threat to that balance,” Aeon said.

“Palpatine and Vader,” Arc said.

“And…well, they are the main threats.”

Arc looked at him. “You do realize that some of us old Masters will have a hard time lowering barriers to unify the two halves of the Force,” he said. When Fothe nodded, Arc smiled. “Then you have indeed become a great Jedi.”

Fothe’s face twisted. He hit a switch on his right gauntlet and a black swoop bike roared into the alley. Arc looked at it. He recognized it as a prototype swoop designed for the Aggressive ReConnaissance troopers. The Fenrir-class swoop was designed to be fast, and it had two compartments on each side, designed to hold four blaster rifles so they could quickly take one out if one had been used up. The prototype had been stolen, as well as an ARC-170 starfighter several months ago. Aeon unclipped his lightsaber, which Arc thought looked remarkably like Anakin’s and tried to ignite it, but it sizzled, obviously needing a recharge. He opened up the panels and Arc saw that it had been modified and where blasters would be were lightsabers and he could see that they were in recharge sockets. Fothe plugged his lightsaber in and pulled out another one. This one was almost completely silver and nearly organic. Finally, he looked at his former Master. “Get off ImperialCenter. Now. You have to leave now,” he said. Arc stared, but then he heard a speeder bike in the distance, so he bowed his head to Fothe, and he ran. Fothe saw a speeder bike stop outside the alley and he marched towards it.

“So, you’ve found me, eh? Your Force sense is familiar, dark one,” he said, drawing his lightsaber. The lithe figure on the bike merely got off and drew a lightsaber. He could tell instantly that it was a woman, just from how she was built. He couldn’t quite get a sense of who she was, but she was familiar to him. The Dark Side of the Force seemed to cloud around her. So, when her blade erupted in cool, blue flame, he was surprised. But, he ignited his lightsaber, the emerald green blade flashing into existence. With one accord, in a flash, the fighters were at each other’s throats, lightsabers blazing. The dark streets of Coruscant came alive with flame as the duelists swirled around each other. Sizzling clashes resounded throughout the quiet streets. From above, they seemed to be mere bars of green and blue light slashing between two shadows. Each flash of light illuminated Aeon’s face. However, the woman’s cloak seemed to absorb the light so that her face could not be seen. Fothe cut high, but the woman blocked and pushed him back a bit. Aeon spun, feinting left, then spun right, but she caught him yet again. It was as if she knew him as well as he knew himself. The blades locked and Aeon tried to penetrate the darkness around the dark woman, but she pushed him back. He back flipped through the air and hit another control on his gauntlet. The Fenrir swoop roared down the alley and Aeon landed on it, shutting off his saber and locking it into place. He hit the accelerator and the bike swerved around the woman, who quickly jumped on her own speeder and sped after him. As he started to run his bike up the side of one of the buildings, he spared a look back, hoping to catch a glimpse of the woman’s face as wind whipped through her cloak, but instead, the hood remained up and as dark and shadowy as it was the first time. “Who is she?” he said to himself. He opened the compartments on the side of the speeder again. He promised that he would find out who she was, even if at the cost of his own life.
************************************************** ***********************
Lord Sidious watched the growing scene from the tallest tower of the ImperialPalace as Vader stalked in, holding his malfunctioning arm. “Lord Vader, is this disturbance really who I sense it is?” he said.

Vader came to the window, watching with the Emperor as two bars of light danced below. “Yes Master, I think it is.”

Sidious grinned, his face twisting badly with the expression. “Then the time has come.” He closed his eyes and began to stretch into the Force. Vader backed away as he began to feel the immense power being radiated by the Dark Lord. Sidious began to concentrate hard, getting ready to bring his power to bear, to put it to the test once again. All over Coruscant, dark clouds began forming. Palpatine was unleashing a Force storm. But its center was not him, but the center of darkness which was battling below. He saw the lights disappear and Vader saw two speeder bikes beginning an ascent up the side of a building. This should be interesting.

And now, the shadow that had seen Mace, Barriss, and Arc's entry into the temple has been revealed...but now another shadow is chasing him! Stay tuned for this shadowy woman's identity to be revealed!

Why do I have a feeling that this woman chasing the Shadowknight is someone that we, and Vader, are already familiar with.

Great update, I can't wait to see what happens next time. I also look forward to seeing what happens to Mace, Depa, Barriss, and also Master Xivix afterwards, even though I have a feeling that it may be two or three updates before we get to see that. Mace will probably go back to the swamp, but I wonder what you plan for the other three.

The next update is gonna be the Fothe/Dark Woman duel, afterwards will have the aftermath on Dagobah, and various places. Vader will be chasing Xivix for wounding him and there are also two other Jedi who have survived Order 66, eg. Morgan Katarn and Valin Halcyon(AKA Hal Horn).

Okay guys, here it comes, the biggest freakin saber duel I've written so far. Hope you like!

OH! Quick note, I have changed the swoop's name from Fenrir to Fenix. I don't wanna get sued! tongue

And I apologize, hopefully it won't be so long between updates anymore.

Fothe looked behind him as his swoop hit the crest of the building and he settled into a somewhat more horizontal movement and wasn’t shocked to see the speeder carrying the dark woman still following. He was shocked to see two speeder bikes roar up from behind her carrying stormtroopers. Their armor identified them as members of the 501st. He swore under his breath and grasped one of the weapons in the Fenix’s compartments.

The weapon he grasped was a unique one. From the front of the hilt to about the midsection, it looked similar to Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber, though far smoother, lacking the knobs used for blade length and power adjustment, as well as the twin power sockets on both sides. However, where the grip and the ignition switch would have been, instead the weapon follows the pattern of a very old fashioned firearm referred to as a revolver. It had the revolving chamber, a trigger, and a hammer. The grip was slightly flattened, unlike the forward part of the weapon. The grip was contoured to fit Fothe’s hand exactly. On both sides of the weapon, just behind the chamber, was an inscribed image of a phoenix, which seemed to Fothe to describe himself. The weapon, as a whole, looked like an amalgamation of a lightsaber and a blaster pistol. In fact, that’s precisely what it was. The chamber contained six compact blaster power cells which connected to six emitter arrays around the lightsaber blade emitter. When the hammer was pulled back, the weapon ignited, and the blaster cells charged. When the trigger is pulled, a single blaster bolt is fired, using the charge of one power cell, and the chamber revolved to the next cell. The weapon worked on the same principle as a Hapan Battle Dragon. Each power cell recharged when not in use. In effect, the gunsaber, as the weapon is termed, was a perfect blend for close and long range combat. It was Aeon Fothe’s pride and joy. And it is this weapon that he brought to bear as the two members of “Vader’s Fist” approached.

With the loud snap-hiss of a lightsaber, the gunsaber ignited and Aeon swung it around, aiming at the face plate of the closest trooper. The trooper, unknowing of the weapon’s capabilities, attempted to fire at him. Aeon blocked it, then aimed again, and fired a blaster bolt. The blast caught the trooper in the face, sending him flying off his bike. With a quick move, he switched his gunsaber to his left hand and took control of his swoop with his right. The other trooper opened fire and Fothe blocked, sending the blaster bolt into the speeder and it careened over the side of the building, right as Aeon’s swoop jumped to another building. The dark woman was still behind him, and Aeon heard the snap-hiss of her lightsaber. Her speeder caught up with his swoop and he switched his weapon to his right hand again. He attacked high and she blocked, nearly sending his swoop over the side of the building. They both increased their speeds, going faster and faster. With a scream, they leapt onto another building, attacking whenever they came in range, the hits forcing them to adjust their course each attack. The weapons screamed and hissed until Aeon hit the dark woman with a hard horizontal attack. Her speeder spun off the side of the building. Aeon followed, landing a few feet away as her speeder crashed. The woman had abandoned it though, as she came to a light landing away from the wreck. Aeon dropped from his swoop and slid the gunsaber, now inactive, back into its holster on his belt. He removed both his Anakin-like weapon and one that looked almost like a reverse of it. The weapon had the same general shape, but the horizontal ribbed grip was closer to the emitter, and the activation switch was closer to the pommel end of the saber’s hilt. And another difference was that this weapon was darker. He attached it to his belt, holding his Anakin-style saber. He also attached his other lightsaber to his belt as a back-up.

The woman’s blue blade was already shining in the streets. The light of Coruscant was now orange as the sun began to rise. Fothe ignited his equally blue blade. “Do I not get the pleasure of your name?” he inquired.

For the first time, the woman spoke, with a voice that was as cold and cruel as it was familiar. “My name is no concern of yours, ‘Shadowknight,’ and it is merely a label. The Dark Side of the Force is my identity, as is my Master. Both of them.”

For the first time in a year, Aeon Fothe did the most unexpected thing ever. He laughed. He was laughing so hard that for a moment he had to steady himself so he wouldn’t fall on his own weapon. “The Dark Side?! Let me tell you something about your precious ‘Dark Side’ Sith witch. It is incomplete. You can’t have Dark without Light, and those who embrace the Dark as much as your Masters have will always be cut off from that part of the Force. A little warning for you, before you go too far down the path of destruction. There can be a way to be saved, to turn from the wrong way, but only if you realize it yourself,” he said, growing serious.

The woman glared at him, and for an instant Fothe saw sickly yellow eyes, eyes that were filled with the purest hate. Then she returned his laugh, and it was the most horrifying sound he’d ever heard. “Oh, I should’ve expected this kind of mindless drivel from you Fothe. Well, prepare to meet your ‘Unified Force’…or perhaps you shall burn in Hell!” she screamed as she leapt at him. The billowing of her cloak made her seem like a bat-like creature as she flew at Aeon, his saber barely snapping up to catch her blade in time. He threw her back and then flew after her. She hit the street, then flipped back up as Aeon’s sapphire blade hit right where her feet had been. He attacked, sending her spinning through the air, then she landed, holding her weapon in a reverse hold so that the blade was behind her, then she attacked him, their blades snapping with the impact. He swung his weapon low and she met it, and she responded in kind, their weapons whirling faster and faster. Fothe attacked and she dodged, leaping into the air. She flipped on top of the building and Aeon flew after, his saber singing in the air as it came down. The woman avoided the attack with a backwards roll that she quickly recovered from. He cut across to his right with a spin that she ducked to avoid, and she spun on her heel as he spun, coming around again, then she came up to attack and his attack came left, causing their weapons to lock.

Just then, the air whipped up and the dark woman looked up. What she saw shocked her. An ARC-170 came diving out of the sky and came to a hover near Fothe. This ARC-170 wasn’t a standard one either. It was in fact the prototype stolen along with the Fenix. The fighter was designed to work with the swoop, and so was designated an ARC-170-F. The primary differences were those that had to do with the Fenix swoop. Any other differences, such as the wickedly hooked beak, were almost strictly cosmetic, though the removal of one of the aft blasters and the substitution of an ion cannon was practical. Fothe pushed hard, unlocking his sabers. The woman glared and leapt up, furious as he followed. Their aerial attacks weren’t truly effective, giving the pilot of the ARC fighter a truly amazing light ballet. They climbed higher and higher up the building, lightsaber flashes lighting up the night sky.

Aeon attacked with a stab that happened to go between the woman’s sword arm and the rest of her body. This gave her an unfortunate opening. She went into a small airborne roll with her saber locking with his and she wrenched it from his grasp. It flew up and landed on a ledge. Aeon grabbed the dark weapon attached to his belt and ignited it. The fiery red glare surprised the woman, as most Jedi don’t accept that color, but then, her memories of Aeon Fothe didn’t exactly show him as the standard Jedi. He attacked high and followed her as she continued to scale the building with the Force. Aeon grabbed the lightsaber that had fallen from his grasp and ignited it, mixing red and blue blades. He attacked with both weapons, and the woman defended as best she could. Then she knocked him away, growling. As Fothe shut down the blue weapon and shifted the red bladed saber into a two handed grip, she charged, flying up into the air.

He attacked, sending her flying. Her saber flew from her grasp as she gripped a ledge to keep from falling to the Coruscant streets. The sound of boots hitting the ground made her look up. The dark woman growled and used the Force to send a piece of the building flying up at him. As he was distracted, she leapt away, calling her weapon back to her. Then she looked at him as she began her Force-controlled fall. “It’s time to show you just who you’re dealing with.” She fell, her cloak billowing free. Aeon jumped down, saber at the ready, his own cloak flying away. The woman landed on a building and ignited her saber, catching him just as he almost cut her in half. Aeon gasped as he saw her golden hair and her icy blue eyes. “It’s been a while, Aeon,” said Sara’a Stone. She threw him off.

Aeon landed, seeing her land above him. He glared at her. “What in the hell do you think you’re doing Sara’a?!” he exclaimed.

She merely smiled. “So, you’re still helping the Jedi after abandoning them. How disappointing.” Aeon tightened his grip on his blade. “It’s a shame that you still back the losing side. I may not be a Sith, but I’ve tasted the Dark Side, and it offers more power than you can imagine.”

“And it costs your soul,” he retorted.

She kept the smile on her face. “All power has a cost. But it matters little,” she said, raising an arm, her eyes becoming clouded with hate again. Clouds quickly formed overhead, blocking the sunlight completely. “Just like long ago, the Sith control the Galaxy, the Dark Side of the Force leading them to victory.”

“And what of the balance of the Force? What is Dark without Light?” Aeon asked.

Sara’a shrugged. “Who can say? Perhaps the Jedi weren’t meant to exist at all. Their eradication is nothing more than equalizing the Force. Now you shall join them.”

Aeon assumed a battle ready stance and said, “I don’t think so.” Sara’a smiled, and the two former Jedi leaped at each other through the sky. Their blades clashed at the same time lightning began arcing down from the clouds. The pilot of the ARC-170-F took it through a series of spins, flying through the lightning at the same time twin V-Wings appeared from below, taking chase. The fighters dived through the buildings, lasers blazing as Aeon and Sara’a attacked each other in midair. The only thing keeping them from dropping to a gruesome death was the Force. Most Jedi didn’t combat each other in the air as this level of levitation was dangerous as one small mistake would lead one to death, and it needed a great deal of concentration in the Force, leaving little for any precognitive abilities or any of the other Force skills Jedi seemed to depend on. They attacked, making sure to hit the ground as often as they could. Aeon leapt at Sara’a, red blade screaming through the stormy sky to clash with her blue. They attacked, spinning in the air. Then Sara’a locked her saber and threw Aeon away from her. He slammed through a nearby building’s windows.

He got to his feet slowly as Sara’a flipped inside through the hole. She attacked wide, but Aeon ducked, aiming his saber for a stab, but Sara’a sidestepped and batted his weapon away with one swift movement. They moved through the building, attacking hard, their lightsabers blazing like the storm outside. When their weapons locked, Sara’a looked into his eyes. “You’re stronger than I remember! Impressive! What did you learn while you were gone?”

Aeon growled, “I don’t want to reveal it to the likes of you!” He shoved her upwards, sending her through the roof. At the same time, the ARC fighter had pulled a quick loop and had come behind one of the V-Wings. The pilot triggered the laser cannons and blew away the enemy’s wings. It began to plummet as Sara’a burst from the building, landing on the ARC. Aeon leapt out onto the falling V-Wing, and then propelled himself from it at the ARC. He landed on the opposing wing that Sara’a was on. The pilot closed the ship’s S-Foils, and the two combatants engaged each other again. As their lightsabers crashed into each other, the astromech droid below them let out a loud squeal. They attacked back and forth, then they left the fighter, landing on the V-Wing. They attacked again, but the V-Wing was much smaller. Aeon growled and carved away the starboard wing and then leaped away. Sara’a jumped at the same time, landing on a building just before he did. Aeon landed in a crouch, his red blade angled away from him, his head bowed. He looked up slowly, and Sara’a saw the power of the Dark Side in his eyes. He drew his other lightsaber, igniting its sapphire blade, and rushed toward her, swinging both blades. She moved fast enough to block both blades, jumping away. Aeon followed, scissoring his sabers in the air, creating a horrible screeching noise. He attacked, spinning in the air, both blades hitting Stone’s lightsaber. She attacked hard, hate powering each strike. Aeon quickly went from aggressor to defender.

As his lightsabers whirled in the air, sparking with each hit on Sara’a’s weapon, he began to move away from her. He attacked with both at once, then he jumped away, shutting down his red blade. He landed on top of a building. He kneeled for a moment, catching his breath when suddenly Sara’a appeared over the side of the building. She attacked, and Aeon defended, their blue blades sparking in the darkness. She spun around and attacked hard. Aeon’s fatigue finally got the better of him. He nearly fell. Sara’a took advantage of this and knocked him backwards. He hit a wall and fell to the ground. Suddenly, his shoulder erupted with pain. He looked at it and saw the blue flame of her lightsaber impaled in it. He winced through the pain, staring up at her. “Do you know why the Jedi Order fell? It fell because Jedi like you abandoned it!” she said, grinning.

Aeon growled and grabbed the blade with his gauntlet; thanking the Force he had the foresight to have the glove both made of armorweave and a form of cortosis which protected his hand from the lightsaber. He plunged the blade into the wall behind him and slashed with his lightsaber. Sara’a jumped away at the last moment, landing away from him. “How pathetic. You don’t understand anything at all,” he said. She ran at him and they attacked each other, whirling their lightsabers. Sara’a then jumped up, then off the spire of the building, using the Force to give her lift. Aeon followed and said, “It was people like you and your Master who destroyed the Order!” Sara’a smiled and held her saber in a defensive position. Aeon twirled his, then suddenly, the other three on his belt leapt into the air, circling around her. The blades activated and Aeon used the Force to pull himself to them. He grasped the red blade first and sprung at Sara’a. She barely blocked the attack. Then he grabbed the green, letting go of the red, then flew at her again. She again blocked, but her strength was draining. Then he grasped his gunsaber and twirled into the air, and then he plunged down at her. He scissored his blades, uncrossing them, sending her into a loop as he landed, followed by three deactivated sabers. He looked up, holding his blue bladed lightsaber. “Now, return to yourself Sara’a Stone,” he said.

Sara’a hovered in the air, as if suspended by some strange force. “It doesn’t matter Fothe. The fire of the Jedi has gone out. The Sith will eventually win,” she said in a strange voice. Then she fell. Aeon surprised even himself as he caught her. She looked up at him with her sorrowful blue eyes. “Aeon? I’m…I’m sorry. I couldn’t…” she couldn’t continue.

Aeon softly laid her on the ground. “You fought me to a draw Sara’a. No one has ever done that.” He hit a control on his gauntlet, and his swoop appeared almost out of nowhere. He retrieved his lightsabers and locked them into the compartments. His ears picked up the slight whine of V-Wing engines, so he mounted his swoop and started it forward, heading for what would do for a ramp. The ARC-170-F flew by, the bottom section of it lowering. He jumped the ramp and landed in the section of the fighter. Right above his head, the co-pilot’s seat was reverting to it’s normal position as the swoop was brought in. It was brought forward, taking the pilot’s place, and Aeon switched it over, setting the Fenix as the pilot control for the fighter. Behind him sat his partner, Katsura Otasim, her long black hair kept up in her helmet. “Let’s get out of here,” Aeon said. She nodded and plotted in hyperspace coordinates.

The fighter began to fly towards the heavens as Sara’a watched it go. She hadn't been able to stop herself from fighting him. She knew her Masters would be furious for not defeating him. She knew she was likely to face death. And she knew that she didn’t care. She had tasted power, ultimate power, and she wanted more. She wanted to be able to best the man who had just beaten her. She found that even though she still cared for him, she wanted revenge. She hoped her Masters would sense that.

This Aeon guy seems like one tough character. I hope he manages to get away from Coruscant and not end up getting caught and killed. He seems to have a high opinion of Anakin. Unless Aeon feels that it would be unwise or dangerous to do so, is it possible that he might stop by for a day or two on Tatooine to see the Chosen One?

Well, don't consider it a certainty, but he might. And it is almost a certainty that he'll make an appearance when the Rebellion starts.

What is happening on Dagobah with Scout, Whie, and Yoda? Are you going to mention them anytime soon?
