Well, I a bad reviewer, but I have reappeared. Wonderful chapter, though Obi-wan should be more careful what he asks for  . I really can't wait for the next chapter as it will be interesting how the separation will affect both Anakin and Xanatos. I have no doubt in my mind that the good 'ol Chancellor will try to step in and fill the gap... cough-cough. And with Xanatos, will he be able keep the Dark Side at bay or will he succumb. Keep it up and update as soon as you can  !

Very enjoyable, and I'm glad Xan made Anakin a part of his decision; it will make him more committed to the mission. Thanks so much for the update!

Xanatos watched him for a moment, obviously waiting for a response. Anakin wanted to give one. The idea that the Council would even ask this nearly enraged him. Instead, he offered a shrug and broke eye contact with his master.
“You must do what you feel is right, Master.”
Xanatos laughed. Not a snicker or a chuckle, a whole-hearted laugh, which helped to break the tension that threatened to fold the room in on itself. “Now Anakin Skywalker plays the part of the dutiful, obedient padawan.”
Anakin couldn’t help but to crack a smile when his master put it that way.
“That’s not the Anakin I need right now.” The smile disappeared from Xanatos’ face again, the burden returning to his features. “I honestly don’t know what to do. I need your help, Padawan. I need someone to help me mull over this decision and decide if I am reacting according to the Force.”
I love the flow of this encounter, the ease and naturalness between Anakin and Xantatos . I am surprised that it wasnt Obi-Wan that he went to first.In cannon I dont believe Obi-Wan would have asked for Anakin's oppinion, only his cooperation.

I feel for Xan, going into this operation knowing his past flirtations with the dark side. It's good that he has a reason to remain in the light, mainly those awaiting his return. It has to be hard though, leaving those he cares for most. Depending on how much time it takes to complete his mission, it will be time apart that he and Anakin will never get back. 
I hope Obi-Wan continues to keep Anakin away from Palpatine the way Xan did all these years.

Wow! Very nice scene! Too bad Obi-wan had to get pasted though. Anakin will probably have a tough time hiding this from his friends and Amidala, though the defection will be that much more convincing because of the senate guests present.
I look forward to more updates!

Well, I'm very, very glad he and Anakin came to the decision together. But this is going to be hard on Anakin. He's loyal, and he won't find it easy to stay quiet. This may be all the oppurtunity Palpatine needs...
I'm glad they didn't warn Ben- as stated, it made it all the more realistic.
May the Force be with them all. They'll need it.

Hello there. I have spent the better part of the night playing catch-up to this wonderful, fantastic, brillant, bloody marvelous story you have here! I havn't been this deeply and genuily mesmerized in a story in a very long time.
I have loved and enjoyed this story from the very beginning. It is simply amazing. Compeletely brillant. I've laughed and cried and have felt several "un-Jedi like" emotions, ahah. I absolutely love the way you portray Xanatos, he's been a favorite of mine recently and you do him justice. I'm just weary of this undercover assignment, I hope he does not sacrifice his soul along with himself but I know he would do anything for those he loves.
Loved Ben's reaction, poor guy. Ahah, poor Obi-wan, I'm sure that punch hurt like heck.
You have an amazing story, and I've been so delighted in reading it some far. It is of epic portions and has been a joy to read so far.

So the deception begins. Xan made it look good, attacking Obi-Wan like that. Plus Ben's reaction was just right. They might not have believed it otherwise. Although Ben and Anakin have quite a role to play, pretending that Xan has left the Order.
