Dooku left, the door sliding shut behind him. The Sith’s presence stayed nearby indicating that escape, even if Xanatos desired it, was not an option. The fact that the Sith had left him armed meant that he expected no threat, that he expected his offer to not be refused.
Xanatos rubbed a hand down his face. He had been successful, which only meant that his situation was about to become more complicated and dangerous. Sliding a portable transmission device from its hiding place, he sent one encoded transmission. “Bait taken.”
Xan better stay the good guy! Wonderful update!

Ah Xan. I'm worried about you.  While I trust that he has learned his lesson there is no telling how being surrounded by the darkside can affect him over time. I'm sure Dooku will be watchful.  Great post. One of my favorite.

Heavy feelings of foreboding here. Something tells me that Dooku is not so easily fooled. (Except by Palpatine ... we can only be fooled by what we desire....) Loved the flashback, btw. Xan was a bad boy. But in a different way than Anakin. Stroke of genius you putting them together the way you have. I wait eagerly for your next post, whenever that may be.

Loved the backstory and how it matched with the current events. LOL on Xan pretending to be drunk.

Dark tendrils of the Force slithered around his mind, serpents ready to raise up and strike. Xanatos slammed down his shields. “The dark side?” he let out a humorless chuckle. “All it has ever done is cost me.”
“Only because you fear it instead of embracing it.”
Dooku yanked Xanatos to his feet by a fistful of tunics before dragging him up the stairs and depositing him roughly onto the sleepcouch in the Jedi master’s rented room.
“Clean yourself up. Tomorrow, when you aren’t so … impaired … we will discuss your future.”
I have to wonder what Dooku is playing at. Surely he must know that Xan wouldn't go dark now, not after all this time.
Things are heating up.

This is going to be difficult on everyone involved. Especially now that Xan will have to face the darkside day in and day out.
Poor Anakin. I hope Obi-Wan will be able to reign him in if/when the rumors and gossip begin in the Temple. I feel sorry for anyone who speaks them in front of Skywalker.

Yeah, Dooku was definitely not the type of Jedi to forget about image. Shows quite well how easy it was for him to turn.
If nothing happened soon, the Council was going to begin to wonder if he had decided to genuinely drink himself into oblivion instead of just appearing to do so. Hopefully word of the bar fight the previous night hadn’t gotten back to them. 
I love Xan's and Qui-Gon's wordless conversation.

Settling down onto his stomach on the sleep couch, Xanatos slid his hands under his pillow, saber clutched firmly within grasp. It was a habit he had grown out of since Anakin had come into his life, but one he knew he needed to quickly learn again. A very good idea.
Personal space had become a bit of a luxury with Anakin staying in the Kenobi/Itires quarters, but all three Jedi were making the most of it. Both Obi-Wan and Ben had completely disregarded the idea of Anakin going to the knights’ barracks. Smart!
“You’re right. We need to get out of the Temple tomorrow,” Ben suggested as he pulled some bowls out of the cabinet. I can see this going awry very easily.
“It is,” Anakin said. His master had survived his initial meeting with Dooku and was in state of being able to send a transmission. The young man’s momentary relief was tempered with the knowledge that the real danger was now beginning. Yes, it is.

Another amazing chapter. Poor Xani though I wish he could just fight back However actually reading Xani undercover will in doubt be very interesting and probably come with a lot of cliffies...
I hope more comes soon~!

What a great story!!!
I spent an entire week reading this chapter by chapter and really loved your AU with Xanatos as the mentor for Anakin.
The title of the story was what first caught my eye, and though I've never read any fiction with Xanatos or knew much about his backstory except that he was Qui-Gon's apprentice that turned to the dark side. You have really developed his character well and as a dark mentor for Anakin he truly has set him on the right path.
The Ben character is also a great addition and think you've developed him well, as Obi-Wan's prized padawan who is more like him than Anakin.
I really like how the characters relationship with each other and they flow really well.
Darth Sidious as the main protagonist with now Dooku in the Clone Wars is an interesting twist. I liked in the beginning how Sidious arranged his abduction and the torment from that has lingered in Anakin through all the updates.
I also like how you have emersed the canon star wars universe so that it still continues to flow with the new characters. I especially liked the main duel with Dooku where u had Xanatos also disabled so it remained a duel between Anakin and Dooku. You've also not killed off any characters before their time.
I would really like to see more developed fight scenes, but other than that this story is great.
Look forward to seeing how Xanatos does compared to Quinlos Vos
I foresee an Anakin vs. Xanatos duel in the near future...

What a yummy post. Foreboding is just oozing throughout it. As someone else mentioned above Anakin and Xan is a great pairing! Hopefully, Xan isn't in over his head too much. Looking forward to more when real life allows it!
