What an incredible story! applause

"Come, let us eat now and let the suns have their way with things."

That was my favorite line of the whole fic. It just sounded so Obi-Wan. I could really hear his soft voice saying that. love

The Inkies are COOL as HELL. They remind me of the Alliance operative from Serenity - the first time you see them, you get a glimpse of the nasty things they do. You don't see much of them after that, but it's enough to scare the crap out of you. Then the big battle where you see what they're truly capable of. worried I love that they were so dark, twisted, and uber-creepy. grin

I wasn't expecting the ending at all. Kept hoping that Asajj would be able to live as a Greysider. sad

One bit that I loved was with the lightsabers. With Obi-Wan's reaction to the purple lightsaber breaking, and when there were hints that the green one belonged to Qui-Gon, I figured the former must have belonged to Siri, and that's why he felt so much pain when it shattered. Wonderful details to weave throughout the story. Really great work, JL!

blush thank you so, so much for taking the time to read this!

so glad you enjoyed it! the Inkies were a blast to write, they were just so deliciously evil.

i was waffling back and forth with Asajj's fate even as i was writing the chapter where she died. i kept looking for a way out for here, but in the end i went back to Obi-Wan's characterization and his whole purpose in being on Tatooine... protect Luke at all costs.

yippee! the lightsaber things! they were one of my favorite little details to put in there. they meant absolutely nothing to the story itself, except to root it firmly in place and build bits of Obi's character. still, the idea that he had Qui, Ani and Siri's sabers just makes me happy.

thanks again!

Forever in search of the perfect Obi-Wan quote but it remains something... elsewhere. Elusive.

Wow, took me long enough to get back here, and you've finished! Wonderful story, I really loved the descriptions. It was sad that Obi-Wan did end up having to kill Asajj, but with the way she was, it was too much of a risk for him to let her go. sad Love how Obi-Wan has developed too, coming to accept the past and becoming more like ol' Ben. But the ending is a little foreboding...Palpatine already knows of Luke and Obi-Wan? worried Makes me wonder why he hasn't already moved in on them.

Great job! applause
