Wonderful chapter!
I love the intrigue you're putting in this. Everyone is hiding things from each other. Kinda makes me wonder if Leia will be discovered anytime soon.
My favorite lines had to be the interaction between Leia and Han about the Force.
I look forward to more.

Sorry about not responding sooner. Darth College has taken over. Thanks for the PM!
Another great chapter. Intrigue, intrigue, and more intrigue. Go Leia! She chose the right path. And the Leia/ Han interactions are perfect.
Great job.

“Hey Le – you,” Han shouted from the doorway to the hotel.
Leia just shook her head as she hit the button to raise the ramp before joining him.
“That was smooth,” she muttered while walking past him.
Loved it!
Interesting update...so much going on...can't wait to see where you take this next.
Well done.

And Leia has chosen her side.
Wonder what will happen when Daddy and brother Luke go after her?
Is Obi - Wan making another appearance in this story?
-- Oh yes you'll see Obi-Wan again

Interesting post. I wonder why Leia doesn't want Han to know about the supplies she's getting from Lando? Does she not trust Han? Or is she trying to protect him?
More soon!

“Can you teach me how to do that?” Han asked in amazement.
“You’re not strong enough in the Force to be able to do this. Force knows the galaxy doesn’t need you running around tricking the entire population of local bar maids into bed,” her sassy tone caused the Senator to smile.
“They don’t need to be tricked Sweetheart, they come willingly,” he boasted.
That was so funny!
Great post. Leia has chosen her side, but will she be able to sway Luke?
Arkady
-- I think Luke has always known what to do, but he loves his father and wants to stand by him.

Okay everybody its the final installment of 14 year old Leia, savor every bit of it, because Chapter 13 we move on to *cue dramatic music*
18 year old Leia!! (which I know many of you have been looking forward to that)
As always thanks to Poe for beta-ing and all my crew for letting me plot with them.
_____________________________________________
Chapter 12
It had been two days since the Princess had given the information to her mentor. As she sat in her new office in the Senate building, she gazed out the large windows and watched speeders pass by. Leia’s mind began to drift back to the moment she fully betrayed her father to the man he had banished to a lifetime of imprisonment.
“I need to speak with Obi-Wan,” she had frantically said to the clone patrolling the halls. “Where is he?”
The trooper hesitated, “He can’t be disturbed.”
Deciding she was going to get nowhere with the man, Leia quickly brushed past him and started to stretch out with the Force to find her Master. Ignoring the troopers’ shouts, she rounded a corner and headed for the only room in the temple that was guarded.
“I’m sorry Princess we can not let you in,” the next clone said with anxiously.
Huffing in an irritated state, she waved her hand and opened the door with the Force. Darting by the guards before they could grab her, she stood stunned in amazement at the activity in the room -- holo maps were projecting all types of markings on it, some resembling the Imperial fleet, there were individual stations where clones were working, and towards the back of the room was Obi-Wan with Cody pointing to the planet the Rebel base resided on.
Slowly, activity in the room stopped as all eyes now turned to the Princess. She saw Cody glance up and see her; he tapped Obi-Wan and pointed in her direction. Obi-Wan controlled his surprise well and slowly walked around the projector. He realized something was wrong. Leia could tell by the way his stern look softened. His brow creased in concern.
Quickening his pace he was standing in front of her within seconds. “What is it?”
Leia’s throat became suddenly dry as she tried to speak “I – uh.” She cleared her throat and tried to start again. “I – I have information.”
“It’s alright, take your time,” Obi-Wan’s voice was soft and soothing, helping to ease Leia’s nerves.
Digging into her bag, she pulled out the datapad. Her hand was trembling as she gave it to her Master. “They know where your base is,” her voice barely audible. “They’re going to attack you in less then 6 days.”
Obi-Wan’s pupils dilated slightly at the news, but his face remained the same. “What’s on this?”
“Their plans for attack. How and when they’ll hit you,” she whispered.
“Commander,” Obi-Wan’s voice boomed. “Have this datapad analyzed immediately, and alert Home One to start evacuations.”
“Yes, Sir.”
The room exploded with activity as clones began to alert rebel cells across the galaxy to be on the lookout for an attack.
Leia just stood there a moment, her face a mixture of emotions, relief, excitement, fear and sadness all in one. She didn’t even realize Obi-Wan had put his arm around her shoulder until they were heading for the door. Once in the hallway he spoke again.
“I know you wanted to do the right thing by helping us, but your safety is much more important than the Rebel base,” Obi Wan said anxiously.
Leia pulled back from him a look of shock on her face, “How can you say that? I just saved the lives of thousands.”
“Yes, but you will be able to save the lives of millions when you assume the throne,” he said a bit more sternly, as if the thought hadn’t crossed her mind.
“Is that all I am to you,” Leia growled. “A means to an end?”
“You know that’s not true,” Obi-Wan spat back.
Obi-Wan had never said those three magic words that the Princess had always showered on him whenever they parted and she could see the struggle in his eyes about whether to utter the phrase or not.
“Why won’t you let me help?” she whispered in a hoarse voice as her emotions began to get the best of her.
“Because I don’t want to lose you the way I lost your father.” For the first time since Leia had known the Jedi Master she could actually sense fear.
She took a deep breath and looked him in the eye. “You’ll only lose me by pushing me away.” She didn’t wait for a response, but just turned around slowly and walked away from him.
The beeping of her datapad disrupted the Princess’ thoughts. Turning away from the large windows, she looked to see who had sent her a message.
I’m taking you to lunch so you can give me the much owed explanation, which you’ve been working on these past two days thus avoiding me.
Solo
“Winter!” Leia shouted from her office.
Winter’s face slowly peeked around the doorframe. An innocent look was quickly replaced with a mischievous one. “The Senator said I owed him one for becoming your assistant.”
Leia threw up her arms, “What happened to being loyal?”
“Well, I – ”
Suddenly the alarms screamed to life as blast shields quickly covered the windows cutting off the light in the room. Winter moved to Leia’s side as a squad of stormtroopers appeared, taking up protective stances around the Princess. Leia could feel Winter grab her arm in fear of what was happening, but the fear wasn’t for her own safety but for other’s.
Leia turned to Winter and whispered, “Remember what I told you about clearing your mind?” Winter nodded. “You need to do that now,” Leia tried to say calmly.
The two girls could hear shouts from the hallways as more stormtroopers took up guarding positions.
“What’s going on?” Leia demanded.
The troopers didn’t answer her, which only caused her fears to rise. She tried to focus on Obi-Wan and contact him through the Force, but she couldn’t concentrate. Her mind was a mess of ideas all trying to come together to form one coherent thought.
“Leia!”
The Princess turned to see Han trying to push past the guards standing by the entranceway to the reception area. Ducking under her protective ring of troopers, she ran towards him.
“Let him in,” she insisted.
“I’m sorry, your Highness, but – ”
“Let him in, now!” she commanded with great authority.
The troopers stepped aside and let the Senator and his Wookiee personal guard through.
Han immediately went to the Princess, “Are you alright?”
Leia nodded her head. “Fine.”
He turned to Winter. “How about you?”
“I’m alright,” Winter laughed nervously.
Finally an officer appeared at the doorway. “You’re Highness, I’m sorry for the sudden security but we had to take all precautions.”
“Captain, what is going on?” Leia asked while crossing her arms.
“There’s been an attack. A Rebel cell infiltrated our shipyards in the Outer Rim and stole the new X-Wing model spacecraft. Several Imperial personal were killed in the strike,” the officer explained.
A look of horror crossed the Princess’ face as she slowly turned away. She glanced over to Winter, who slightly shook her head to indicate she had no idea about the attack. When she turned to the Senator, he did the same. In his eyes she could see him pleading for her to believe him. Not giving him any indication about her feelings, she turned to the Officer.
“Where is my brother?” she asked in a low whisper.
“He is currently at Intelligence, Your Highness.”
“Take me to him,” Leia said as she moved towards the entrance.
The large security team moved shiftily to escort her out of the building. As she entered the speeder, she saw Han following looking as if he wanted to say something, but the speeder took off before he could. Minutes later, Leia was storming into Intelligence and searching for her brother.
“Luke,” she called as they entered the main Intelligence room.
He was surrounded by all the military brass looking at holo-projected maps of the adjoining systems around the shipyards. She quickly moved to him and gave him a hug.
“You holding up?” she whispered.
His face was drawn and it looked as if someone had taken his most prized possession. “They took everything,” his voice was hoarse.
“Everything?” Leia softly echoed.
“The X-wings, plans, technology, even my prototype. Gone.” Luke sighed.
“Your Highnesses,” Tarkin called to them. “We’ve reached the Rebel base.”
Leia took a sharp breath and held it for what seemed like eternity as they waited for the Holo-projected Imperial Officer to update them on the ground assault.
“Sir, the Rebel base has been deserted.”
“What!” Tarkin shouted. “How?!”
Just like in the Temple several days before, Imperial Intelligence erupted into activity. Leia just stood there, numb with emotions watching as her brother tried to cope with the consequences of her actions. Quietly walking up behind him she placed her arm around his shoulder.
“It’s not your fault,” she said with remorse, knowing that she was causing his pain.
“I know,” his voice devoid of any emotion. “I just wish they had built the X-Wings here.”
It was then Leia understood the source of his pain. He had poured himself into modifying that prototype. The new spacecraft was his way of proving to the military that he was valuable and knew what he was talking about and Leia had robbed him of his chance. A rush of anger coursed through her veins as she realized that she had never put the information about the X-Wings on the datapad.
“I’m going to see if any of my informants knows what happened,” she strained to say between gritted teeth.
“Good idea,” Luke said half-heartedly.
“Hey.” She gave him a nudge. “I’ll get your prototype back. I promise.” Leia smiled to try and lift his spirits.
They hugged once more before the Princess marched back to her speeder.
“Is it true?” Winter asked as the speeder raced to the Imperial Palace.
“Yes,” Leia said while she clenched her fists.
Once they arrived at the Palace, Leia and Winter quickly moved to the twins’ suite.
“How long will you be?” Winter asked as Leia headed for her closet.
“A while. Have 3PO help you cover while I’m gone,” she instructed.
“Princess,” Winter quickly called out. “I didn’t know about the attack.”
Leia gave a reassuring smile. “I know.”
The journey to the Temple seemed endless as she rode the lift down into the secret passage. Her mind raced with what she would say to Obi-wan. She had given him the information to save lives, not take them. The Temple was unusually quiet as she walked the halls to the Situation Room. The guards didn’t bother to try and stop her as she walked past them. The room was bustling as clones were in contact with Rebel leaders all across the galaxy. Leia kept moving trying not to draw attention to herself. Obi-Wan was in the back of the room again, but this time at a personal work station.
“I need to speak with you,” Leia said as she walked up behind him. “Alone.”
Obi-Wan just nodded as he stood up and followed her out of the room. Leia remained quiet as she led him to the meditation room. Even after the door shut behind them she kept silent, trying to figure out the best way of approaching the subject. She fidgeted with her hands as she turned to face her mentor.
“How did you know about the X-Wings?” her voice sounded like the low rumble of thunder from a distant storm.
The question took Obi-Wan by complete surprise, it was apparent in the way his body became suddenly stiff and rigid. “It was in the report you gave me,” he answered calmly.
“No,” Leia’s voice remained steady. “The location of the shipyards was not in that report. The report only mentioned the
use
of the new X-Wing models,” her voice began to rise.
“What did you expect us to do?” Obi-Wan threw up his arms. “By taking this new technology we have a better chance of lasting against the Empire,” Obi-Wan said defensively.
“I expected you not to betray my trust!” Leia shouted. “I gave you that information to save lives, not destroy them.”
“What are you talking about?”
“The Rebel task force which infiltrated the shipyard killed Imperial personnel,” she snapped. “What you’ve done is an act of war, Obi-Wan! It was easy for me to dissuade the Senate that the Rebellion was not an aggressive group when you were attacking supplies and not harming any Imperial citizens, but now – now the Rebellion will be the most hunted group in the galaxy and there is nothing I can do.”
“We knew that some day we would need to become a stronger force in the Emperor’s eyes – ”
“So you used me and the information I gave you. You betrayed me!”
“No,” Obi-wan whispered as he tried to take a step closer to her.
The Princess wasn’t having any of it, matching his step and keeping him at a distance. “I knew by helping you I was betraying my father but I never imagined you’d force me to betray my brother!” Her emotions were running high as the argument was taking its toll on her.
“Leia, please,” Obi-Wan said in a panic, he tried again to close the gap between them but she side–stepped out of his way.
“Don’t!” She shouted through the ever growing tears. “Don’t pretend to care that you betrayed me. You
knew
what you were doing the moment you discovered the X-Wing in the report. Did you not think I’d figure it out? That I was too naïve to think you’d do something like this?”
“Of course not,” Obi-Wan implored.
“Why then?” she demanded through the soft sobs.
“You asked my why I wouldn’t tell you about what I do. It was for this very reason,” Obi-Wan began in the most heartfelt manner the Princess had ever heard. He almost sounded desperate to keep her from walking away. “I knew one day you’d want to help. I just didn’t think it would be this soon. I hadn’t prepared for the fail safes to keep you insulated from some of the darker things we had to do.”
“Stop treating me like a child!” she shouted with a heavy sigh. “Why didn’t you just tell me you wanted the technology? I could have gotten you the plans.”
The Jedi took a small step forward and this time the Princess didn’t move away. “That’s not good enough, Leia. We needed to take all the information the Navy had so that they couldn’t reproduce them.”
“If you care about me so much, then why don’t you tell me? Why don’t you tell me I’m more than just a vehicle into the Palace?” The tears flowed freely down her face as she stared back at her second father.
“I’ve never treated you like that,” Obi-Wan pleaded.
“Then why don’t you say it?” Leia begged through her sobs.
The Jedi reached out and tried to envelop her in a hug, but she pushed away at first. They continued to struggle until Leia gave in and let him hold her. Her hot tears dampened his robes as she let all her emotions pour out of her little body. It wasn’t for another minute or two that she heard the Jedi speak.
“I love you, Leia,” he mumbled into her ear. “I always have, ever since you walked into this very room and asked what I was doing. You stole my heart and have held it ever since.”
She pulled back, her hair a mess and her face flushed from crying, but her eyes had softened. “You do?” she gulped.
Obi-Wan brushed the hair out of her face and wiped the tears away with his thumbs. “Of course I do. I’m jealous I only see you once a day. That I can’t be out there by your side helping you and guiding you,” he paused. “Protecting you.”
Leia’s eye’s darted downward, “All I want to do is help,” she looked back up. “So that one day you can do that.”
“I know,” he said as he pulled her back into a hug. “But I need you to promise me something. Only help when I ask.” He squeezed her a bit to emphasize his point. “I don’t know what I’d do without you. You’ve given me meaning in my life and I didn’t think that was possible.”
He tilted her head to look up at him. “Promise me.”
Leia gave a small nod, “I promise.”
Yet even as she continued to hug him, the Princess knew she’d have to find the loophole in the promise, because if she learned anything today it was that this Rebellion had become personal. Personal to her and to Obi-Wan, to Winter and to Han, even to her brother. This group would be the sore spot in all conversations for many years to come and she would need to find her own way of helping. Her own way of showing that justice and freedoms were something worth fighting for. She would need to create a symbol separate from the Rebellion so that it would divide the Imperial resources and help give the Rebellion an edge. She’d have to do all of this in secret; only Winter, the droids and possibly the Baron would know.
Feeling a slight pang of guilt Leia relaxed a moment and tried to feel a connection to Obi-Wan. Slowly a warm wave passed through her body and for the first time in her life she felt connected with a fellow being through the Force. She felt the depth of Obi-Wan’s love for her and the protectiveness he felt towards her. It was like a blanket had been wrapped around her and all her negative feelings were washed away. She would never forget this feeling, even in the coldest of nights.

RE: In The Shadow Of The Sith -- Post ROTS Major AU (Obi Wan/Leia/Han/Luke/Anakin) UPDATED 5/20 CH
I guess Leia was somewhat naive to think that the Rebels wouldn't be the 'most wanted' group in the galaxy, whether or not they killed some Imperial guards. I'd think the Emperor would understand what a threat they were, even when they were just starting out by stealing supplies. Hopefully, Leia discussion with Obi-Wan will make her realize this.
And YEAH for the next post, when Leia is 18!!!

Brain: Now, Pinky, if by any chance you are captured during this mission, remember you are Gunther Heindriksen from Appenzell. You moved to Grindelwald to drive the cog train to Murren. Can you repeat that?
Pinky: Mmmm, no, Brain, don't think I can.
