Hey everybody! Hope the New Year had started out well for you all. Thanks to my lovely beta Ms. Poe for getting this back so quickly. I would say this will probably be updated weekly but I might be off a day here or there. If you wan a PM Update just let me know.

Chapter 4
She was lost at sea, nothing but ocean for miles. Her body was exhausted from her battle against the rough waters. It was dark and stormy. Rain began to pour down upon her, helping to push her under the water for a moment. While under the water she felt safe, warm, protected. Just like when she was in the womb of her mother. Forcing her self to break free of this comfort, she came to the surfaced of the water, gasping for air. Suddenly she heard a voice calling out to her.
“Help me, Leia,” the feminine voice was soft and tender.
She looked in all directions, trying to find the source, but there was nothing. Then she heard the second voice, a much more sinister one that caused fear to well up in side her.
“I will destroy your family.”
Moments latter she felt herself being pulled under the water, as if an invisible force had grabbed hold of her and was now dragging her down into the darkness below, she felt her body shudder as everything became cold. Just before she gave up all hope, a light shined down through the water and she saw a hand grab hold of her and begin to pull her back to the surface. But as she reached the middle, the point where darkness and light were one, she was stopped and felt that she was being pulled in both directions. Neither side was letting go, both wanting to take hold of her and claim her as their own.
Leia awoke drenched in sweat and tangled in her sheets. Her breath was ragged and her heart raced. She cautiously slid out of her bed and walked out onto her terrace, letting the night air cool her small, over-heated body. Leia reached out for the railing, hoping it would help support her trembling body.
“Help me, Leia,” the faint voice called out, as if carried by the wind.
Leia looked around in all directions but could find nothing. She walked back inside but was too scared to sleep. So she decided to visit the one adult she actually trusted.

“Master Yoda.” Obi-Wan greeted his friend as the Jedi Master appeared on the Holo-Screen.
“Master Kenobi, a pleasure to see you it is.”
Obi-Wan could see some of the great mountains of Alderaan behind Yoda, “Are you in the Palace?”
“Necessary for this communication, it was,” Yoda explained in a low voice before taking a deep breath. “Dangerous times these are. Much we could lose with training the girl.”
“It’s almost been a year and no one has suspected anything of her,” Obi-Wan said a bit defensive.
“Many years will we have to wait before she is ready; harder it will become for her to deceive her father,” Yoda sighed deeply. “Carries too many burdens, she does.”
“I can’t argue there.” Obi-Wan’s features saddened for a moment as he whispered, “If only Padme had lived. Things would have been different.”
“Perhaps,” Yoda said as he readjusted his grip on his cane. His small brow wrinkled with worry. “Felt the child’s presence recently have you?”
“Only for a moment here and there,” Obi-Wan said as he begun to stroke his beard. “You still believe that she has some power over whether or not she’s felt through the Force?”
Master Yoda nodded, “Strange that you can sense her but her father can not.”
“It happens at the most peculiar of times,” Obi-Wan said as he shook his head.
He saw Master Yoda was giving him a curious look, causing Obi-Wan to continue. “I don’t know how to explain it other than that we’ll be talking and I feel her opening up in the Force. The moment I try and connect with her, she pulls away.”
“Safe she feels with you, protected. A connection she will make, when she is ready,” Yoda said with confidence.
“Let’s hope you’re right,” Obi-Wan said before changing topics. “I hear the Rebellion will finally hit an Imperial target.”
A smirk forming on Obi-Wan’s face. “Is that your doing or Bail’s?”
“Senator Solo’s,” Yoda said with a straight face before a small smile of his own appeared. “Helped him I might have.”
“It’s a smart move – it keeps them on the Imperial radar but does not make them a priority. What of the rumor that Anakin is building a massive battle station?” Obi-Wan asked.
“Found nothing, the spies have.”
“Obi-Wan!” a familiar voice called out.
Before Obi-Wan could terminate the transmission Leia rounded the corner at a sprint. With out hesitating, Obi-Wan knelt down and scooped her into his arms. Her body was shaking so hard Obi-Wan had to tighten his grip.
“What is it?” Obi-Wan asked, worried about what had happened to her.
He turned her away from the Holo-Screen and could see Master Yoda watching them.
“I had a bad dream,” Leia whimpered.
“Tell me what happened,” Obi-Wan whispered in a soothing voice.
“I – I was lost at sea,” she stuttered. “Someone called out to me.”
“Who?” Obi-Wan asked as he rubbed her back.
“I dunno, it was a woman.”
Obi-Wan’s eye’s immediately darted to Yoda, who was listening intently.
“Then a mean man called out saying he would destroy my family,” Leia said as she pulled back to look at the Jedi. “Then I was pulled underwater. It was cold and dark, and just before I gave up a light appeared from above and a hand grabbed me and started to pull me back up.”
“And then what happened?”
“I was being pulled in both directions and then I woke up,” she sniffled.
“A vision you had,” Yoda finally spoke, startling the young child.
Leia turned to the Holo-Screen and starred at the Jedi Master a moment. “Are you Master Yoda?”
“That I am,” Yoda smiled at the child. “Remember what the woman said, when she called out to you?”
“Help me, Leia.” The Princess paused. Her eyes widened as they seemed to have remembered something. “I heard her again after I woke up.”
“Trying to warn you the Force is,” Yoda’s concerned tone caused both the Princess and her mentor to become nervous.
“General Kenobi,” A clone trooper stepped into the room. “We only have a few more moments.”
“Thank you,” Obi-Wan turned to Yoda.
“Contact you again, I will, much more to discuss. May the Force be with you Master Kenobi.”
“And with you,” Obi-Wan said just before ending the transmission.
“Master Yoda is worried about my vision. Isn’t he?” Leia asked while staring at the now empty Holo-Screen.
“You need to get some rest,” Obi Wan said, purposely trying to change subjects. “I’ll take you back to the Palace.”
“Obi-Wan,” Leia whispered as she nestled her head on his shoulder, “Am I going to fall to the dark side?”
“Why do you say that?” Obi Wan asked as he walked to the closet.
“Because the darkness in the water that’s pulling me down – it must be my Dad, right?” Leia yawned as she let her eyes close.
“Possibly.” Obi Wan glanced down and saw that she was beginning to fall asleep. “Did I ever tell you about the time I visited Alderaan?”
“No,” Leia breathed as she was beginning to lose consciousness.
“The mountains are taller then the highest building on Coruscant and the lakes sparkle from the sun. The fresh air tickles your nose and messes with your hair.” Obi-Wan playfully rubbed Leia’s head. He only got a half hearted slap from the Princess. “You can lie on the tall grass and watch as nerf-shaped clouds roll by.”
The Jedi looked back down and saw the young Princess was sound asleep. He carried her back to the Palace and gently tucked her into bed. He placed a tender kiss on her forehead.
“Obi-Wan,” Leia mumbled. “I know who the light is.”
“Who?” He asked as he tucked a strain of hair behind her ear.
“It’s you.” Leia snuggled into her bed a little more. “But the hand that pulls me up is someone else,” she finished her statement and fell back asleep.
A large lump formed in the Jedi’s throat. He pulled a chair up to her bedside and watched her sleep for a while. He didn’t want these feelings to end. He felt his guilt slip away every time she smiled at him or tilted her head to the side and placed her hands on her hips; her giggles were infectious and her sense of wonder inspiring. Never had he cared about something or someone more then he did this little girl. She had somehow touched a part of him that he never thought existed, or a part of him the Order had never allowed him to explore.
It was then that the Jedi Master realized he would have to change some of the teachings of the Order. It almost killed him to watch Anakin fall the way he did,(;) if the Princess were to fall it would be something he could never recover from. He was going to be more open with her and more loving . . . LOVE. He loved the Princess as if she was his own child. Scared by this new revelation, Obi-Wan quietly left the Palace and headed back towards the Temple.
I always told you to be mindful of the living Force
The voice of Obi-Wan’s old master filled the air as he entered the Temple.
“A Jedi is not supposed to form attachments,” Obi-Wan spoke out loud, visibly upset at him self.
“Obi-Wan,” Qui-Gon appeared next to his former apprentice. “A Jedi is attached to all living things through the Force.”
“I care too much for her,” Obi-Wan continued to rant, his worried voice echoing off the halls.
“No such thing,” Qui-Gon kept his eyes straight ahead. “You have been given an opportunity to reshape the teachings of the Order. Use it to find a balance.”
“Balance,” Obi-Wan scoffed. “How can one find balance when the Force is in chaos?”
“That, my friend, is the path that you were given,” Qui-Gon said just before stopping. “You must re-create that which was lost, but you must do it through this girl, for a Master never stops learning Obi-Wan, remember that. Much you will learn from this small girl for she is our last hope.”
“Yes, Master,” Obi-Wan said. “You are right, I will not let these knew emotions scare me.”
“Good.” Qui-Gon began to disappear. “Just remember Obi-Wan, you are not going through this alone.”
But once the Jedi Master disappeared Obi-Wan was once again left alone in the massive Temple.

A week later, Leia was walking the halls of the Imperial Palace when she noticed her father’s office doot was open, which normally was never the case. Being the ever curious one that she was Leia tip toed into the room. As she approached her father’s desk, she saw a small holo-image slowly rotating. It looked like a moon of some kind. Leia began to read the technical read outs and slowly she realize it was a massive battle station. Suddenly, Leia felt her father’s presence coming towards the office. She quickly ducked into the adjoining room and hid behind the large furniture.
“Tarkin, I will not let you or any other Imperial Officers bully me into finishing this battle station,” Anakin huffed as he entered his office.
“May I remind you that when the Emperor...”
Tarkin paused. “Died,” his tone was laced with suspicion, “I was one of the few supporters you had. The Senate would have had your head if it weren’t for those of us in the military giving you support.”
“It was clearly stated in the Emperor’s last message that I take over the seat, since I was the one to discover the Jedi treachery,” Anakin snapped.
“And as I said that first night.” Tarkin eyed Anakin. “If those were the Emperor wishes, then I will follow them. But I also know he wanted this station built!”
“It is being built.”
“Sir, that laser is the only reason people will fear that station,” Tarkin hissed.
“You want the power to destroy planets not cause them to fear you,” Anakin responded.
Leia could feel her father’s conflicting emotions. His heart was in the right place but his mind was being corrupted by these military leaders. It was in this moment that the Princess realized her father wasn’t the evil one, but the military was, the men who served under the Emperor, the ones who didn’t trust her father, but more importantly the one’s seeking power. Leia made a silent vow, that when she was big enough and strong enough she would stand up to them and fight against everything they stood for.
“We still have many years before we have to debate on the strength of that laser,” Anakin’s tone had softened.
“I’m sorry Your Excellency,” Tarkin apologized. “There are those in the Empire that wish we took a stronger stance towards the Rebels, and they are putting pressure on contractors to finish the Death Star ahead of schedule.”
“The Rebels are too insignificant at the moment,” Anakin said. “Worrying about them is a waste of time and resources.”
“Agreed. We’ll continue to monitor them and see if we can find their financial backers.”
“I have a feeling you won’t have to look far,” Anakin said distantly, lost in thought. “I’m more concerned about the Hutts’ movement in the Outer Rim.”
“We’ve deployed several of our best ships to watch them sir.”
“Good. Keep me informed,” Anakin said as he finally took his seat. Tarkin gave a nod then left the room.
Leia waited a few moments then moved towards the door to make it appear that she had just entered. “Father?”
“Leia?” Anakin rose from his chair to greet her. “What are you doing here?”
For a moment Leia said nothing, just looked up at her father. She grabbed his hand and pulled on it, indicating she wanted him to kneel down.
“What?” Anakin whispered as he was now eye to eye with his daughter.
“You want to do the right thing don’t you?” Her sincerity was moving.
“Of course I do.” Anakin gulped.
Leia always knew that she was one of the few people that could actually intimidate her father; she figured half of that was due to her looking so much like her mother.
Leia cupped his face with her small hands. “Promise me that no matter what you’ll remember that I love you.”
“Of course,” Anakin said with confusion. “But Leia what is this – ”
“Even if we fight?”
“Yes.”
“Even if I disagree with you?”
“Yes but Leia – ”
“Even if I stand against you?
Her final question caused Anakin to halt his response; Leia watched his features as he struggled with an answer.
“Leia,” his voice stern. “What is this about?”
“I just want you to know that I love you,” Leia said sadly. “No matter what, I will always love you.”
Leia moved in and gave him a genuine hug and a kiss on the cheek. Without saying another word she left the room. Once the door had closed behind her she spoke again.
“Because I fear that I must stand against you, to help you.”

Ah, so Leia understands that which still has to come.  She sees that she will have to stand up and side with those who fight against her father. She doesn't like it, but she knows that if she is to save what is left of Anakin's soul, it will be necessary.
Excellent chapter, Irish!  
Leia's having bad dreams  , Yoda's up to mischief, and Obi-Wan fears loving Leia.
Hm... I wonder if that fear comes from losing Anakin to the dark side. I rather think that in RotS, Obi-Wan was blind to Anakin's larger failings because he loved him so much. That's why I think it hit him so hard when he saw Anakin leading the Temple Massacre and kneeling before Palpatine. I don't think it ever really occurred to him that it was Anakin behind all of it. Now the thought of losing Leia as he lost Anakin is just unbearable. He probably feels that he doesn't have the strength to endure another loss like that.
Again, great job! Can't wait to see what else is in store for our characters!

I just found this fic tonight and I am hooked! I love that Obi-Wan, Yoda, Bail and HAN and the Clones are all in coohoots. C3PO and R2D2 preprogramed to help Leia...Can't wait to read some more!! Now...How often do you post!!  ) <waves hand> you most post daily
