I have no idea if this has been done before, it just came to me in my sleep. this is the prologue and its short. Enjoy. happy

Title:To Destroy the Sith

Summary:Both Obi Wan and Yoda go to destroy Palpatine, and how it changes the events to come.

Prologue

Inside the Temple

"Destroy the Sith, we must," Yoda said, tapping his cane on the floor to emphasize his point.

"Send me to kill the Emperor. I will not fight Anakin," Obi Wan said, coming to stand before Yoda.

"Young Skywalker will wait," Yoda said, looking at Obi Wan with determined purpose, "To kill the Emperor, both of us, will require."

Obi Wan nodded, "Yes, master."

"Soon, exposed, Palpatine to the galaxy, he will be," Yoda said, turning to walk out of the security room at the temple.

Obi Wan turned and walked with the aging Jedi Master, "How?" he asked.

Yoda continued walking without stopping, "See, you will."

Obi Wan nodded as he continued to walk beside the diminutive Master.

Soon, they had left the temple, and were on their way to face the Dark Lord of the Sith.

The next part will probably be tomorrow, then I might try and follow a Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting schedule. wink

This is quite interesting... I had never thought of them both going to face Sidious... grin grin grin

I am so curious to see if this means that they will be able to defeat Palpatine, or if it means they are both going to lose. And what about Anakin? Without Obi-Wan's appearance, will that mean he decides to go with Padme? thinking

The underline parts are the holonet transmisions.

I changed the way that the scene played out from the movie. This is for the holonet transmissions. You'll see what I mean.

Bail Organa's Senate Apartments

Senator Bail Organa stood looking out of his apartment window in silence, his hands clasped behind his back.

His companions in the room were equally quiet. Fellow Senators Mon Mothma and Amidala had traveled to his apartments to talk over the horrendous announcement made today by the Supreme Chancellor.

Not surprisingly, not a one of them felt like talking.

He still had a hard time coming to grips with everything that had transpired over the last few days. The Jedi killed, the temple sacked, the Republic dissolved and replaced by an Empire, with Palpatine as the Emperor.

Suddenly his chief aid rushed into the room and spoke without preamble, "Senators, you might want to turn on the holonet," turned and headed back into Organa's private apartment office.

Bail moved over to the holonet receiver as Mon Mothma turned it on, all of them unprepared for the scene playing on the screen.

Jedi, he thought, but they are dead.

Then he realized it was a security recording from what looked like a hanger in the Temple. How is this possible was his next thought, but he turned his attention to watching the events unfold on screen.

"You have a report for us, Master Kenobi," one of the Jedi was saying.

Bail recognized Mace Windu immediately.

"Yes master," Obi Wan was saying, "I called to report that General Grievous has been killed on Utapau." Obi Wan said, before his hologram flickered out.

Mace Windu looked at the three other masters around the table and spoke, "It appears it is time for the Supreme Chancellor to give back his emergency powers." The other three nodded.

Suddenly a new figure rushed into the picture, and the three Senators recognized him immediately, Mace Windu spoke, "Knight Skywalker, Obi Wan has just reported that General Grievous is dead. We are going to notify the Senate and Supreme Chancellor then have these emergency powers revoked."

Anakin looked troubled, "He won't give up the powers."

Mace looked at him sharply, "What makes you say that?"

Anakin spoke in a broken tone, "Because the Chancellor is the Sith Lord we have been looking for."

Mace looked thunderstruck, "A Sith Lord?"

Anakin nodded, "Yes master."

Mace sighed, "That changes everything. Palpatine has been playing the Republic against the Separatists for some unknown gain. We'll have to take him into custody."

Anakin smiled grimly, "I want to come with you."

Mace shook his head, "No, myself, Master Tinn, Master Koth and Master Fisto will go. I want you to stay here and help protect the Temple in case anything happens."

"Yes, master," Anakin replied, "If you need me, contact me in the Council Chambers."

Mace nodded, "May the Force be with you."

Anakin responded in habit, "And with you masters," turned on his heels and sprinted out of the security recording

The four masters boarded a transport and Mace Windu called out, "Pilot, take us to the Chancellor's office."

The transport lifted away.

Bail turned to look at his companions as footage from the Jedi Temple came to an end and the holonet began to air scenes from an empty Senate chamber.

He saw the seep concern on Senator Mothma's face, but what surprised him most was the look of shear rage on Senator Amidala's face.

There's something else there, was his thought

Padme had watched the broadcast with a sickening feeling of disbelief, and one thought keep going through her mind as the transmission ended. He lied to me. Anakin lied to me, followed by more thoughts, What else has he lied to me about.

She looked at Bail, "Excuse me, I think I'll return to my apartments."

Bail and Mon Mothma both nodded, Bail replying, "Of course. Goodbye Senator Amidala."

As Padme walked down the corridors, she was shaking with rage inside, and one thought was foremost in her mind, Anakin Skywalker better be happy he's not on planet. Right now, I could honestly kill him.

Question for anyone who has a clue, What is with commas and quotation marks, they show up fine when I preview the post, then when I post they come out as gibberish?

This is very intriguing. If one thinks about it, this would actually make sense, both masters going to confront Sidious. I hope Obi-Wan doesn't get killed as easily as the other Jedi masters did. I'll definitely keep an eye on this. Can you PM me when you update? Thanks happy

michaellover: For Anakin, running fast might be a good idea.

I'll try and have a post tomorrow. I haven't given it any thought what so ever, as last night I took one of the cats to the vet for a checkup, and ended up having to put him down, so my thoughts are not on the story right now.

If I don't post tomorrow, I will post Monday
