Now that the entire work is finished, I think that different words and thoughts would have been expressed during the duel in question. Here is my version:
Scene: Corridor near Docking Bay 327, DS 1
Obi-Wan had sensed a disturbance in the Force since his arrival on this cursed space station, but he had been unable to pinpoint it. He had a guess, but hoped he was wrong. Now was not the time to face his old padawan. He knew that his destiny would carry him back to Ani...no, Vader sooner or later. He hoped through the Force it would be later, for he knew he had a responsibility to Luke.
Just before he rounded a corner, he knew, and mentally, he prepared himself. It was indeed his old apprentice. Destiny has finally caught up with him, and he knew his fate would soon be decided. He filled himself with the light of the Living Force, made a silent prayer to Qui Gon to give him strength, and strode forward.
Scene: Further down the corridor, at the same moment.
Vader sensed his old master approching. Vengence would soon be at hand. He thought it was ironic that despite all these years he had been hunting for Obi-Wan, his prey had come to him instead.
There was much to answer for, and Vader wanted Kenobi to suffer as he had suffered. If Kenobi had simply stayed away from Mustufar, he and Padme would be happy right now, proud of their child growing into womanhood or manhood. Instead, Obi Wan had sent him into such a blind rage that he had killed his beloved, and on top of that, he had ended up in this suit, forever bound to it.
Soon, his former "master" would pay. He was just around the corner......
Obi-Wan now saw his former student, friend, and brother in arms. At first he was surprised, then sad. He had pity for what was once someone he loved, that he would end up in a state like this, in that horrid contraption. Still, Anakin had made his own choice.
Vader saw Kenobi, who looked much the same, but much older, and haggard. Still, apperances can be deceiving, and he sensed that the Force was still with him.
VADER: I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again, at last. The
circle is now complete.
Both activated their sabers, first Vader, than Kenobi.
VADER: I have been searching for you for a long time. You have much to answer for, and today, you will meet your Destiny!
KENOBI: My only destiny is to make sure that your reign of terror ends today, Vader.
The two Galactic warriors stand perfectly still for a few
moments, sizing each other up and waiting for the right
moment. Ben seems to be under increasing pressure and strain,
as if an invisible weight were being placed upon him. He
shakes his head and, blinking, tries to clear his eyes.
Ben makes a sudden lunge at the huge warrior but is checked
by a lightning movement of The Sith. A masterful slash stroke
by Vader is blocked by the old Jedi. Another of the Jedi's
blows is blocked, then countered. Ben moves around the Dark
Lord and starts backing into the massive starship hangar. The
two powerful warriors stand motionless for a few moments with
laser swords locked in mid-air, creating a low buzzing sound.
VADER: I see you have not forgotten your katas. That is good, for I want this to last. I intend to pick you apart slowly, until you are screaming for mercy. You are no match for the power of the Dark Side.
KENOBI: You can't win, Vader. If you strike me down, I shall become more
powerful than you can possibly imagine.
They continue to trade blows, both opponents trying to gain the upper hand......
From here, the movie would continue as normal. I just think that based on ROTS, Vader would be ALOT more hell bent on revenge than the original script indicated, and I have changed the diolague to reflect this. Hope you like it!
