	Title: I know Author: Darthzeppo Characters: Leia Vader Bail Breha Luke Genre: Mostly between the trilogies but some ROTJ at the end Summery: Why Leia says “ somehow I always known” when Luke tells her the truth. Disclaimer: Star Wars belongs to George Lucas. I Know A five year old princess Leia sat next to her mother watching as the Queens hairdresser brushed Breha’s long raven hair. Leia admired her mothers silky smooth locks and wondered why hers were so frizzy. “Mama, Lydia’s mammy and pappy have blond hair and pale skin and she has blond hair and pale skin. Why is my hair and skin different to you?” Breha felt her stomach lunge. This had been a day she dreaded since Bail had brought the little orphan home. He had given her few details at first but when pressed had confessed the girls parentage. Breha shuddered, his answers made she wished she had never asked. Turning to her innocent daughter she smiled. “ You know we love you very much don’t you?” Leia nodded, Breha took a deep breath. “ Well… we are not you’re real mammy and pappy.” Leia looked confused, “ what do you mean?” “ You’re real Mammy died when you were very young.” “ And my pappy?” “ We don’t know who that is.” Leia looked like she was about to cry. 	Thanks for reading! OK heres some more. it's a long chapter. An eight year old Princess tossed and turned in her sleep. Images…feelings…from long ago. A forgotten woman with a beautiful face crying… “ Princess! Princess! Wake up!” the maid shouted pulling aside the curtains. Leia squinted as the sun hit her face. “Get up sleepy head! You have a very important visitor today remember?” “Lord Vader.” Her parents had told her about his visit days ago. They were both nervous though they tried not to show it. He was coming on behalf of the Emperor to inspect Alderaans security forces. He’d be arriving at noon. Leia Stood at the palace entrance with her parents watching the imperial shuttle land. The ramp came down and half a dozen clone troupers marched out. Then came the strangest man Leia had ever seen. All in black, he didn’t even have a face, just a mask and his breathing was loud and mechanized. Her father bowed slightly to him. “ Lord Vader welcome to Alderaan. This is My wife Her Highness Queen Breha and our daughter Leia.” The females curtsied, Leia gaping at Vader the whole time. He barely glanced at them before following her father inside. Because of Vaders visit most normal activities were cancelled. Leias tutor had been given the day off and she was free to play. She took her favorite rag doll and went to the palaces private gardens. The public never saw these grounds which were strewn in children’s toys and play equipment with a small hedge maze at the back. Leia was so absorbed in her toys that she didn’t notice when a sinister figure stood out in the sunshine. Anakin studied the princess. Her silk skirts were dirty and her hair unraveling. How old was the princess?- eight You’re child would be that age if she’d lived He wondered if his child would of played so innocently like the Princess. His own childhood had not allowed for such leisure. He had silently promised that his offspring would have a better life. He had failed, he had brought death. Every child on nine he looked at reminded him. Dredging up old memories. Padme placed his hand on her stomach. “Can you feel the baby, he’s kicking?” “He? What about she?” he felt the kick against his palm, “With a kick like that it has to be a girl.” She laughed, so happy, so beautiful… Stop! I will not give into this! He strode across the lawn and into the hedge maze passing Leia and her toys. She knew she should turn back, pretending she hadn’t seen him but she was curious and not al all afraid. She followed him through the maze. He went to the center and sat down on the bench holding his helmet-clad head in his hands. She wondered what was wrong with him. The screaming had started again. The infant screaming that had started in his nightmares nine years ago. It hadn’t ended with his family’s death. It woke him out of his sleep every night and struck him without reason during the day. Sometimes he thought he was going insane. He’d contemplated killing himself but something stopped him, perhaps it was sheer stubbornness pushing him on. The screaming stopped. A soothing presence approached. Looking up he saw the princess staring at him with large brown eyes. “ Are you all right Lord Vader?” He stared at her in surprise. He was use to grown men trembling in his pretense. To have a child approach him out of concern for him was…a novelty. “ You look sad Milord,” she came closer. “Is there anything I can do to help?” “No,” he reached out and cupped her face, “ You are very pretty princess.” “ Thank you.” “ My daughter would have been you’re age if she’d lived.” “ what happened to her?” “Her mother died before she could be born.” “ I am very sorry Milord.” “ Don’t be. I killed them.” He didn’t know why he told the girl. Maybe it was her aura working on him or maybe it was the need to confess or maybe he wanted her to hate him. He knew she didn’t despise him, he supposed it was out of ignorance. His confession worked, he could feel her fear growing. “Leia! Leia!” one of the servants was calling for her. Dropping the rag doll she ran off. Leaving the Dark Lord alone. Later that night after Vader had returned to his Star Destroyer Leia told her parents what he’d told her. They exchanged a puzzled look. “Why isn’t he in jail if he killed them?” “ Lord Vader is the Emperors personal aid. He does not answered to the law the way we do.” Her father answered. “He must be very evil to do that.” “Leia you mustn’t tell anyone what he told you it would make Lord Vader and the Emperor very angry. It could put us in jail.” Leia nodded and turning to her mother said, “ Last night I had another dream about my other mother.” “ How do you know it was you’re mother?” She shrugged, “ I don’t know.. I just feel it I suppose.” “Tell us about it.” “ She was very pretty but she cried all the time. 	Thank you Meredith_Kenobi i like the idea of him being tormented for his mistakes. it's also the force trying to tell him the babies are still alive. anakin_luver Vader Doesn’t like small talk A twelve year old Leia watched her father exit the royal shuttle. His shoulders were hunched and his face weary with despair. She ran towards him. “ Papa what’s wrong?” He smiled down at her but it was an expression tinged with sorrow. “Leia where is you’re mother?” “ She’s asleep. What’s wrong Papa?” She followed him inside and down into the library. Bail collapsed on the couch rubbing his temples. Leia sat down next to him wrapping a chubby arm around his broad shoulders. “ Did something really bad happen?” “ Two of our rebel cells were uncovered. The ‘traitors’ were tortured and executed. One of them was an old friend Chi Eekway.” He paused, watching her expression change. “ You remember her don’t you? She gave you that necklace on you’re tenth naming day.” For a moment he thought she would cry but she didn’t, she rarely let anything out. She took a deep breath. Her nostrils flared her eyes taking on a steely look. At that moment she looked so much like her sire that Bail shuddered inwardly. “Who did it?” she hissed. He didn’t reply. The silence spoke for itself. “ Lord Vader! “ she spat furiously, “ I hate him!” “Don’t say that! Don’t ever let me hear you say that again!” Leia raised her brows in surprise, “ Why not? It’s what everyone thinks.” Why does he care if a hate Lord Vader? “ You are not everyone. You are a Princess of Alderaan.” And the daughter of a once honorable man who I still cannot bring myself to hate. Leia studied her father expression. He was genuinely upset by her statement. She wondered why he would care so much. He answered her unspoken question. “ Hating Lord Vader will not make you stronger. Anger gives the illusion of control but it eats away at you’re soul. That’s what happened to Lord Vader. He became the very thing he swore to destroy.” Leia’s jaw dropped. No one had ever suggested that Vader was not always evil. “ My daughter would have been you’re age if she’d lived… I killed them.” “Papa what happened to Lord Vader?” “ No more questions. Go to bed.” “ But Papa-” “ I said go to bed!” he snapped, shocking them both. He never spoke to her like that. Leia began to get up. “ I’m sorry Leia. I shouldn’t of snapped at you. 	I understand why Bail got like that. I took it that, after a long day, he got upset when Leia said she hated her real father. It upset him because that was what happened to Vader in the first place - anger took hold of him. Anyways, great update! And for the PM. 	Princess Leia aged fifteen years had just had a fight with her father. Bail would not let her go to Lydias eighteenth birthday party. Bail had good reason. The young countess was both loyal to the Empire and notorious for her decadence. Leia, of course did not see such things with adult eyes. Throwing herself on her bead she punched the pillows and cried until her eyes and throat were raw. He’s not even my real father She pushed away the thought horrified that she’d had it. Bail was the only father she’d ever known. She shouldn’t be thinking like this. I wonder what my real father is like? I wonder if he’s still alive? Getting out of bed she went to her personal computer to access the holo net. She logged onto Alderaans registry. She looked herself up, Leia Organa Adopted by Her majesty Breha and the Prince Consort Bail Organa 10/29/52867 ST. Birth parents Mother: Burnell Ivo Born 1/67/52837 ST Died 8/29/52867 ST HomePlanet Belkadan Cause of death: Civilian causality of a Clone Wars. Killed by crossfire in the Separatist raid on the capital city of Isabab. A small picture was next to the details. The woman had brown hair and eyes with Leias coloring. She had died two months after Leias birth. She wasn’t like the woman Leia remembered in her dreams. Leia dismissed the thought – Breha was right they were only dreams.Two months was too young to remember. Father: unknown She felt like she’d been punched in the stomach. Unknown. That simple world made her feel robbed. She was a Princess with the best education money could buy. Many people envied her luck at being adopted by the monarchy. But at least they know who their fathers are – well most of them. It didn’t occur to her that the records might be tampered with or incomplete. She would never suspect Bail of such dishonesty and the Organas had the resources to fund a full scale investigation. If her fathers men could not find anything there was nothing to find.
