Great stuff! Like many before already told you, the flashbacks really flesh out the character; they make him a real human being instead of just a name on paper. Excellent work! I'm hooked!

I'd love to be on the PM list! happy

I really appriciate everyone reading and responding. Arness does have a little bit of PTSD, and I think this chapter really fleashes out why. Arness is going to change a lot through out the fic, I hope i can keep with the flashbacks but to be honest, it is becoming more of a challenge. But thats partly what makes it so much fun. I hope you guys enjoy this part, and as always critsms is appreciated.

Chapter 6
Venn Rainey

All of the trainees spent a week of study on a Star Destroyer as they headed to Necropolis. Arness had never been to the planet, but soon after arrival he realized what the key export, and the Empires interest in the world was. Crystal formations were every where; the world was governed by the mining guild. But the Empire kept a close watch on the corporate planet, especially after the risings of other guilds and factions during the Clone Wars.

It had taken Arness a little while to get the thoughts of war off his mind, but when Drill Sergeant Conri told them they would be aloud to have a night on the town, it was forgotten. Everyone’s spirits were high. Most of the guys wanted to hit a local tavern, which sounded great to Arness. But right now his focus had to be on work.

The company hooked up with 84th brigade 1st and the 208th mountain division. They shared the mission of security for the planet. Arness was out of the role of PG for this particular mission. This was for real, so the NCO’s and officers handled that part. A corporal led their team through a patrol of the zirconium district in Brealla. The corporal didn’t have a name, just a number. JK 8821, but everyone started calling him Jack.

Even with the sun going down it was hardly dark, the crystal formations lit up the sky. Arness, walked around with Ryan, Rit and Jack. His feet were killing him. The old armor with the boots that were too big was rubbing blisters on his heels.

It was their second night in theater, and nothing had happened. Rit was nearly falling asleep during their march. “Damn I need to see some kind of action. Jack please tell me something will happen tonight.”

Jack hadn’t been out of Kamino but a few years. This was his first duty station and the first time he had worked with real humans. “Not likely NOC. I have been here a while, the most we’ll have to do is break up drunk miner fights.”

“Why do you keep calling us NOC? We do have names,” Rit said.

Jack chuckled, “Haven’t you heard? That is the Imperial Army’s official name for you. Non-Clones we just shortened it up.” It chilled Arness at how much Jack sounded like his superior Conri, At least a younger version.

The night was uneventful. Once the groups watch was over they went back to change and headed to the crystal shard tavern. Jack accompanied them, but spent his time with Arness. The others were content on drinking and courting women. But not Arness, he deeply loved Drea, and Jack was genetically engineered not to be interested in the opposite sex.

Arness and Jack sat at the bar and shared a few drinks. Jack was the first clone the Arness had met that he really liked. Arness told him of home and his family. Jack told him about growing up on Kamino. “I can honestly say, you are the only one out of this group that feels like a true vat brother.” Jack told him.

Arness knew this was a compliment, in his own way. Jack was interesting to him, unlike the other clones who scoffed at going to the club; Jack was excited to be invited. The tavern was small but crowded; it had a small dance floor, which was why most of the patrons came, and lights of all different colors flashed throughout the dim lit room.

Then a young woman who looked like she hadn’t quite reached the age of twenty, sat next to them. She had wavy pink hair. “Hello Arness Greyhelm, I am Berylesse Niam.”

Arness was surprised that she came up to him, but what surprised him most was her last name and the similarities to the Jedi he had once know. “How do you do miss?”

“Not very well at all I’m afraid,” she said in her thick accent. She had different color hair that Krystall, but it was obvious that the two were related some how. “You see, my girlfriends and I have been talking with your comrades. I on the other hand have been waiting on you to come speak to me. But you made me come all the way over here to you. I am making myself look desperate. I hope you’re happy with yourself,” She said admonishingly.

Arness wasn’t sure what to say, she was one of the most forward women that he had ever met. He loved Drea, but he didn’t see the harm in talking, or a few dances. He was after all here to have fun. “Well let me make it up to you with a drink. Have we met?”

“Thank you very much, I’ll take a corillian ale,” She said as he motioned for the bar tender. “Your friends speak very highly of you. They are very loyal to you, so I had to meet you myself.”

Arness smiled at that thought. “And here you are.”

“Yes, well no thanks to you I’m afraid.”

Arness smiled at the woman. Then he looked over to Jack, “Hey buddy save my seat while I go teach Miss Niam how to dance.”

“Sure, but don’t expect your drink to be here when you return. Consider it my payment.”

Arness grabbed Berylesse by the hand a waltz out to the dance floor.

***

The Jedi attachment group was camped five kilometers outside of the town of Venn Rainey. It was a small city in the graveyard region. Years ago a giant humanoid race lived on the planet, but for some reason died out. People loved to come dig for fossils and see the museums. Adi Galla commed the group she was scouting for the Separatists with a squad of BARC scouts.

Arness was excited, finally some action. He had hardly slept that night, and it was nearly time to go on the move again. “You should really try to rest Lieutenant,” Krystall told him.

“I can’t. I am excited, nervous, scared, and all at the same time.”

“I understand, but if we run into trouble then that could get you killed. Let me try to use the force to calm you. It would help you, and it would help me to practice.”

Arness agreed. She placed her hands on his temples and calming waves flowed through his mind. She also helped him feel more rested, and alert. He felt like a million credits.

They started moving in close to Venn Rainey; smoke filled the air followed by a lingering putrid odor. Arness could remember coming here with his father when he was campaigning. As they rolled into the city the odor got worse, there were buildings that were smoldering. The streets were empty, there was no sound. Arness looked over at a playground, of a school. He walked over to a swing and noticed the bodies of children littered all around. One he saw was a teacher over a little kid, she was obviously trying to protect him, but it was all futile. Arness hit the ground, he couldn’t support his weight. He felt bile rising up and then he couldn’t hold it in any longer. He sobbed uncontrollably.

Krystall placed a hand on him and wrapped him in a hug. “I understand your grief Arness, but this isn’t the time for mourning. These buildings are still burning, which means the Separatists aren’t far. We can catch…” She was suddenly interrupted by sniper fire. A blaster bolt hit her right in the face and her blood splattered Arness’ face.

Arness was scared, he ran into a small tunnel to hide. The clones fought on, unafraid, not like Arness. Every time he started to come out a blaster bolt flashed past his position, and he went back to his hiding spot. He cursed himself, this is what he wanted. Wasn’t it?

The tears still streamed down his face. The ground shook from explosions. Clones fought and fell. Arness could hear death all around him. Finally he ran from his position to a rock wall where he could at least fight. He saw a man there from the Boz Pity Army; his legs had been blown off in an explosion. He looked to be in his late twenties or early thirties. “Aghhh, mommy, I want my mommy. I want to go home. Mommy.” He said as he cried like a child.

Out here in the middle of the fight this guy was as good as dead. Arness could see the clone medics setting up a casualty collection point. “Its all right friend, I’m gonna get you home.”

The man seemed to notice Arness for the first time “Don’t leave me lieutenant. Please don’t leave me, don’t let me die.” Arness picked him up in a fireman’s carry and ran with him back to the CCP. As soon as they got there the medics got to work on him. “He’s lost a lot of blood, but you probably saved his life. He wouldn’t have lasted ten more minutes without treatment.”

Arness nodded at the medic, and looked back at the battle. How many more of Boz Pity’s sons and daughters were out there hoping for rescue? This was the graveyard region, but he would be damned if someone else died while he coward away in a hole. He looked back at the man whose bleeding was under control and was now under medication. There was a sniper out there that had to be dealt with And as far as Arness was concerned the droid would not see another day.

***

Arness had a great time with his friends, but he had given Berylesse a ride back to her apartment. He tried not to think of the young Jedi Knight when he looked at her. “Arness you want to come up with me?”

Arness was nervous, she was attractive and he was very lonely. It had been three months since he had seen or spoken to Drea, and who knew when they would see each other again. But he couldn’t, he loved her. “I shouldn’t.”

Berylesse leaned up against him, she kissed him deeply. “Arness, I have had a great time. I find you quite attractive and I am slightly intoxicated. If you follow me to my room you won’t be disappointed.”

Arness’ heart was racing; he could fell the blood rushing through his body. “I have a fiancé. Back home,” he stammered.

“Kriff Arness, I’m not asking you to marry me, I’m asking you to sleep with me. She is light years away, the only way she’ll know is if you tell her.”

Arness could feel his will power deteriorating. She had her body pressed against his and her face just inches from his. He stared into her deep emerald eyes. He wanted to kiss her, badly; He needed some divine intervention to get him out of this. “I could be you’re best ever, and if you walk away what could have been will haunt you forever.”

Arness leaned in and kissed her. The curves of her body felt so good against his hands, and then suddenly the ground shook. Arness’ comm. went off. “There is a Rebel attack, get back to base now.” Arness looked back at Berylesse, and he knew what had just happened was wrong. He turned back to the speeder he had been driving and returned to base.

How's that for divine intervention!

Excellent update. Very intense. And on a lighter note, I like how you included something out of the Galaxy of Fear series. They were amongst my favorite books when I was younger. Necropolis has always fascinated me! Good job! applause

Sorry it took me so long to reply, Cody. sad

Another very well written, and well expressed chapter. Arness gets a new layer added to him with each update, and not an easily carried one at that. If I was him, I would be very angry that the rebel attack broke up my makeout session with a hottie, regardless if it was right or wrong to begin with. peace

Raptor517-Thank you for reading. Arness is not out of the wood shed yet. I want to put him through a lot of situations, that could cause him to mes up. Obviously he won't everytime but Just wait and see. I may not be done with Berylesse just yet. wink

RoainXanatos- Thanks fo reading. Drea would have been very hurt and very upset. To answer another question no you are not all that obvious. However when it comes to a guy in the service, especially when alcohol is invold a lot of women are pretty, uhm, 'free' with themselves. which is probably why I like drunk women. tongue I kid I kid.

BigE-Thanks somuch for reading. Berylesse is an idea that I got from the little idea that you and I talked about. I had planned on making something like this happen later on, but I was going to have Arness be strong and turn her down. but after much thinking it seemed unrealistic to me. The guy has been without physical contact for t this point three months, he doesn't know when he's going home, He is little drunk, which is going to cause more problems in the next chapter, and a beautiful woman is throwing herself at him. I felt it was too much for him to just walk away under his own power.

Darth Muis- I haven't read that series to be honest with you. I don't remember where I got my info for he planet atbut most of it I just wrote how I saw it. I had another oc, from another story who lived on this planet and orignaly I planned on Arness' group going after her. But then I changed my mind, figured Rebel attack would be better. and shortly after deciding how I wanted the Rebel attack to go, I got the idea for the Battle of Venn Rainey.

ZEGO- No worries brother, I am just glad you read it. I know I am a long way from being in the upper echelon of writters on this board, so I am happy that I have any readers period. This story is so close to my heaart because it is about the Idealist young guy trying to do what he believes is protecting his family, by fighting in an unpopular war. He makes ome mistakes along the way and changes. What I love about Arness most is that, had his life not been interupted, had he gone to work in the senate, he would probably have became a Rebel himself. Look at the people he surronded himself with. Anyway I feel a certain amount of kinship to Arness, and I am glad to share him with you. As ar as Berylesse goes I want to try and fit her in little more if I can, I didn't really get into much the relationship between her and the Jedi, and I amy not. However I kind of feel like she detracted frrom the pain and changes in Arness at Venn Rainey.

Once again thanks for reading guys.

Edit for typos tongue

Nah, I don't think so. I completely understood how Arness was evolving, but when I was reading that part where they kissed, and then the rebels attacked, I was like "Oh, that sucks."

DavidSkywalker- Yep he just about blew it. I felt like a mistake like that made him seem more venerable, and real. The bad news is we are going into the next chapter with a bunch of half drunk to wasted guys charging into battle. It will cause some more heeart ache and issues. Thank you so much for reading.

Author's Note: Once again I want to thank everyone for reading my fic. I am so thrilled that yu are enjoying it, and I hope that you like the direction I take it. The middle I am still trying to work out, but I have a great, very climatic ending planned so if you can stick around it'll be worth. At least I think so. Anyway. April is going to be a very busy month for me. We have twelve hour shifts here and I may not get one day off next month. I am going to post the next update early, either today or tomorrow. And I will try hard to get the second update sometime, but may not be able to.

Okay so here is Chapter 7, it is a lot longer than most of theother chapers, I hope none of you mind. I probably could have split it up into two chapters, but I felt it all went together. I loved the last chapter and this chapter the most so far. I hope you all enjoy it, it was so fun to write. As always critsm is welcome, if not begged for, so tell me what you think.

Chapter 7
Costly Mistakes

Blaster fire could be heard in the distance. Arness and the rest of the group stood while a captain briefed everyone what was happening. Arness’ head swam. He was sweating already and feeling very nauseous. Suddenly going out to drink didn’t seem like a very good idea.

He had a hard time concentrating. The only thing he caught from the briefing was that they believed that the rebels were trying to steal the new x-wing star fighters, and other supplies. Thankfully he was going back out with Jack. He wondered if Jack or the others were having the same problems he was.

Then they were off; Jack led the way. They ran from the the brief room, the whole place was full of pandemonium. People ran in every direction. It had just occurred to Arness that he had never taken another sentients life, at least not that he knew of. Boz Pity all he did was fought droids.

He could feel bile rising up in his throat. he hadn’t even realized that Jack had spoken to him. “Arness, wake up. You’re gonna get yourself killed dazing off like that.”

“I’m sorry.” They were standing near a warehouse. It held the crafts that were mentioned in the brief. It was a dome like structure with retractable ceilings. Crates and barricades were out front. The rebels were making a stand while their pilots prepared to get the star fighters out of there.

The squad stood in an alley way watching the Rebels engaging an Imperial Navy squad. And the Rebels were doing a good job holding them back. Jack cursed “Damn navy, we always have to clean up their messes. We’re gonna have to find a way in that building. Arness, we’ll split into teams. You take Rit, Ryan, and Xid. I’m gonna take the others. We’ll lay down some suppressive fire. You go back down the alley and come around and flank them on their right.”

Arness nodded and then shook Jack’s hand. “Good luck.”

“You too.”

You couldn’t tell because of their masks but Arness imagined that Rit wore a huge grin. “Hell yeah, this is what I am talking about,” he said.

Arness grabbed him by the shoulder. “From this point on use noise discipline. If they hear us coming then we’re done for.”

Arness gave the hand signals that he had learned that indicated that he wanted his team to move out. They ran back in the direction they came from and made a quick turn once out of the alley. The road was a narrow one, and even more narrow with people running away from the battle. Soon after the ground quaked and the night sky lit up as Imperial Artillery tried to hit near the area. Obviously they felt that they would rather loose the equipment than let the Rebels have it. Unfortunately it didn’t hit its target.

The old clone armor stood out among the crowd. Arness struggled just to get through the masses. Then shots were fired, fired at his team.

***

Four years ago-Venn Rainey

The wind howled ferociously, bring soot and dirt with it. His face was mottled with the debris especially where his face was still wet from the tears he cried. His fatigues had blood stains from the Jedi’s fatal embrace, and the man he had carried just moments before. As he ran he came across Boz Pity’s finest running in fear, but once they saw the bravery of their lieutenant they soon followed with him, with a renewed courage.

Battle droids and super battle droids were now out in the open. The playground that had once been a place of happiness and cheer, was now a \grave mired with the fallen heroes that littered the ground. Shots were fired from all around but Arness seemed not to notice. He just reflexively fired back along with his comrades.

***

Necropolis

Arness blinked, He was firing back at a group of people who were holding their ground in a restaurant a hundred meters from them. As people tried to get out of the way from the fire fight the inadvertently ran in between and became casualties. Rit pulled a thermal detonator out of his pack and went to throw it but was shot in the shoulder. The detonator hit the ground right in front of him. Everyone looked at each other knowing that they were about to see their last moment of life. Arness thought of Drea and hoped she could find happiness with out him. But Rit jumped down and placed his body over it, and the concussion rocked his body, he was dead. Arness screamed “Nooooooooooo”

***
Venn Rainey

“Noooooooooo.”

They were close to the sniper, it had taken out several of the men and women who followed him on his suicide mission. Then Arness saw it. A droid stood in the second floor of the school. Arness looked back at two of the men with him that carried rocket launchers. He pointed them to the window where he saw the sniper at. “Blast the hell out of that floor. I don’t want them to find any remains of that kriffing machine,” He ordered.

The men did as they were instructed. Apparently the CIS had a cache of munitions in the building, when the rockets hit the window hundreds of little explosions went off all through the building. Finally the structural integrity was compromised to its limits. The building collapsed and it was doubtful that anything inside survived.

***
Necropolis

Arness blinked again, he couldn’t decide if he was really in Venn Rainey or Necropolis. He was holding Rit, a man who he had spent the last three and a half months getting to know. Blood was splattered everywhere. Arness didn’t remember taking Rit’s helmet off, but it lay to the side. His face was frozen with a look of terror, his eyes glazed over. There was nothing Arness could do but take revenge for his friends. “Shavitt.” Arness looked back toward the small rebel force, “I’m going to kill each and every one of you kriffing Rebel scum bags.”

He stood to his feet, and got dizzy. He wasn’t sure if it was from the alcohol that he consumed earlier, or just the stress he was under. He marched on anyway. He pushed civilians out of his way and just fired toward the traitors. He was normally a better shot but his mind was effect from the drinking. Some shots connected and some didn’t. The artillery hit a building two hundred meters behind him and caused him to stumble and fall. He quickly recovered. All the noises around him echoed, it sounded like he was in a tunnel. “Arness, you’re going to get yourself killed,” Ryan Samaj screamed out.

Arness didn’t listen he just kept marching toward, and blasting at Rebels. As Arness passed another alley he saw a flash of white light and felt the blinding pain of a rifle butt hitting his face. It knocked him back to the ground.

Xid and Ryan looked in horror, as Arness fell. Through the mass of people, who were now afraid to be inside of buildings, all they saw was his head rocked back and then him falling. They knew he was dead, but getting to him would be difficult.

Arness felt someone pull his mask off and then felt a fist bashing his face. His nose cracked and blood splattered across his face. Then he felt the fist hit him in the jaw and the excruciating pain of breaking teeth. His vision was still blurry, but he heard a familiar voice. “Not so great now are you PG?”

He had to be dreaming, the last he heard Cort was on his way to the spice mines on Kessel. “What are you doing here?” It hurt to talk.

“Oh It just so happens that the rebels had a few friends on my transport. They need soliders. If the Empire doesn’t want me then I will show them what their missing,” His voice was full of anger.

“Cort, help us out. It’s not too late. They may give you clemency if you help us stop the rebels,” He said through clenched teeth.

“Wrong Arness, it is too late. I was a true believer in the Empire, but they tossed me away like I didn’t matter. But know the Alliance will show them how wrong they were to cast me aside.” Arness’ laid his head back in defeat. Cort got what he wanted, he had bested his rival. “Oh don’t worry Greyhelm; I’m not going to kill you. I want you to live knowing that on the real battlefield I was the best.” Cort raised up his rifle and hit Arness again, leaving him there unconscious.

Arness woke in a troop medical facility. His face was bruised and swollen. A nurse was filling out some paper work on him, a nurse with bright pink hair, And Jack sat next to his bed. “Hey there, I was wondering if you were going to wake up.”

“How long have I been out?”

The nurse turned around, it was Berylesse. “Four days now. You had some bones broken in your jaw, and a fracture around your eye socket.”

He moved his tongue around in his mouth and noticed for the first time that four of his back teeth on the right side of his mouth were gone. “They had to cut them out, but you can get implants. Its more cosmetic than anything, but a lot of people like to do that.” Berylesse told him.

He didn’t say anything to her, he wasn’t really sure what to say to her. He looked back at Jack, “What about Ryan and Xid, are they okay? How did the mission go?”

“They are okay; the worst they got were some cuts and bruises. The Rebels got what they came for. They got fifteen of the new X-wings, they were to replace the ARC –170.” He didn’t mention Rit, he didn’t have too. Arness knew he was beyond saving, He sacrificed himself for them.

Jack gently, put a hand on his shoulder, “You know this is not just your failure, a lot of things went wrong here, but we will learn from our mistakes. I know you will probably be here for several more days, but when you get back they will want you to file a report.”

Arness nodded and with that Jack left. Berylesse moved over to check his vitals. He winched from her touch, he tried to pay it off like he hurt, but the truth was she made him nervous. “You know you don’t look like you’re old enough to be a nurse.”

She smiled at him, “Yeah well how old do I look?”

“I don’t know. I’d say seventeen or eighteen.”

She went along recording the readings and getting his pain medication ready. “Actually I am nineteen. I got through school fast; I began studying nursing when I was fifteen.”

Arness was more than a little surprised. He wasn’t sure why exactly a lot of planets put their young to work early. Naboo was notorious for electing young girls who were just starting to turn into women as their queen and Mandalorians were said to consider their children adults as young as fourteen. He decided to drop it.

After giving him his medication she looked she asked him, “Is there anything else I can do for you?”

Arness could think of several things he’d like her to do for him, but then he quickly dismissed those thoughts. What he was thinking must have been written on his face, Arness thought, because she smiled at him and began to blush. “I’ll be right outside at my desk if you think of anything.”

The medication went to work fast, soon he was relaxed and the pain began to subside. He tried not to think of the battle several days before, he blamed himself for Rit. It didn’t take long before sleep found him once again.

Arness spent the next four days in the hospital. Each day she worked Berylesse took care of him, and the two would talk about all sorts of things. They never spoke of the moment of passion or of the kiss they shared. Arness learned about the people of Necropolis, Berylesse’s family in particular. They had a strong sense of family. And just as Arness had assumed Berylesse had an older sister that was taken to be a Jedi before she was born. And he had told her a little about fighting in the Wars on Boz Pity.

When Arness got out he saw Commander Thyro, the clone commander in charge of the Necropolis theater. He told him of the Rebels catching them during their flanking movement, of Cort betraying them, and he somberly accounted what happened to Rit. Afterwards he was sent back on duty, cleared of all medical problems. The group planned one more outing before they left back to Caridia.

As Arness stood in front of a mirror after his shower, he preferred using water; he noticed that he was amassing a number of scars. He moved his tongue around in his mouth again feeling the gapping hole where his teeth had been. He decided he would wear these scars with pride and honor, and as a memory of what happened when you messed up. He blamed himself for Rit, and for Cort.

That night they all met up at the crystal shard again. Arness sat by himself, drinking heavily. He nursed a corellian ale, but in addition to that he had a half empty bottle, of the blue-green johrian whiskey. Berylesse came over and sat by the man she felt was becoming her friend. “Mind if I join you?”

“Not at all, it where you’d like,” Arness’ speech was more than a little slurred.

Berylesse smiled at him. “You plan to drink your problems away?”

“Don’t be ridiculous. I just want to drink until I black out or pass out, my problems will still be there tomorrow.”

Berylesse grabbed a glass. Arness started pouring the whisky into her glass, but in truth he spilled more on the table than he got in her glass. She took a sip of the blue-green liquid and felt it burn as it went down. She looked back at Arness sympathetically, “This galaxy is full of troubles and pains Arness. We all have a lot to deal with, especially now. Make sure you don’t carry the weight of the dead.”

Arness slammed his glass down, spilling some of his drink. He glared at the young woman. His eyes filled with tears and they began to stream out of his eyes. “It’s my fault. If I would have just let Cort stay PG this wouldn’t have happened. Rit would still be alive. It’s my fault that Rit is dead, Krystall too. I killed them.” His screamed, his voice was a little hoarse.

Berylesse looked at him incredulously. “What are you talking about?”

“Yeah, your sister, the Jedi, I killed her. If it wasn’t for me they would be alive. Arness told for the first time the story of what happened on Venn Rainey. He was angry with himself and he wanted Berylesse to be angry at him. Her sympathy caught him off guard.

Arness’ head was looking down at the floor, his face was red. “Arness look at me,” He looked up and met her emerald eyes. “What happened, any of it, it’s not your fault. Weather this Cort guy joined up with the Rebels, they would have attacked this place anyway. People still would have died. As far as my sister is concern, I am not angry with you over that. First, She did, what she felt was her duty, and she paid the ultimate sacrifice for it. I’m sure she doesn’t regret it. Second, I never met her, I wish I would have, but I didn’t. War is hell, and unfortunately in order for us to keep the life of freedom and security people have to die.”

Berylesse wrapped him up in a warm embrace. Arness sat there crying on her shoulder, a sign of weakness that he rarely showed. She backed away and the two gazed into one another’s eyes, wantingly. Arness wanted nothing more than to kiss her then and there. But he turned his gaze back to the whiskey. Berylesse did the same. The two sat together, drinking, and eventually Arness got what he wanted.

He woke the next morning, his head swimming, and artillery going off inside his head. He couldn’t remember hardly anything from the night before. It was then that he realized he did recognize where he was, and someone was in bed with him. As he turned over Berylesse woke up. “Good morning handsome. How are you feeling?”

Arness jumped out of the bed, he had no clothes on, and neither did she. “No, tell me this didn’t happen.”

Berylesse looked at him, she was insulted. “What?”

“No,” He screamed and turned around. “You took advantage of me.”

Berylesse was really angry now, she began to scream, “you came on to me. This was all your idea.”

If Arness’ head wasn’t shaved, he would have been pulling his hair out. He looked at her in disgust, “I was drunk, you could have said no. Damn it I didn’t want this.”

Berylesse’s face went from anger to hurt, “You didn’t seem to mind last night. As I recall you said I was right, I was the best you’d ever had.”

“Well, how would I know, I don’t remember a kriffing thing.”

“It’s not my fault you lush. I came over and gave you a shoulder to lean on, you took the next step. You knew I was attracted to you, that I wanted this. I think you do too. Face it, if you really love this other girl, you wouldn’t have needed me.” Berylesse looked at him pleadingly and placed a hand on his check. “Please, don’t be angry, I think I am falling for you.”

When she suggested that he didn’t love Drea his anger rose to a new height. He slapped her hand off of him, turned and punched a hole through her wall. He looked back at her menacingly. “I don’t need you; in fact I never want to see you again.” His words were cold as the night side of Hoth.

Berylesse couldn’t handle what she heard. She cried like she had never cried before. Her knees buckled and she placed her face in her hands. Arness began putting his clothes on and then walked away. She grabbed for him, and begged through her cry, “Please Arness don’t do this, don’t leave me like this. I love you.” Arness kept walking pretending like he didn’t hear a word she had said. He was angry, but not really at her, he was angry with himself. If Drea ever found out it would break her heart, and he couldn’t lose her. This would have to be another mistake that he buried deep inside his heart.

Arness is an idiot. After this first time she got suggestive, he should have avoided her form there on out. Secondly, he shouldn't be drinking. Had he combined the two, there was no chance of messing up.

Sorry for the rant. Obviously, you've really done a good job with your character because I get emotional.

Good update! I have to agree with Raptor517, Arness is an idiot! He should've just stayed away from her. And drinking is no excuse as far as I'm concerned. Sorry for the rant! tongue

Ha-ha. Good one.

Well, you can't really blame Arness for being such a dumbass this time, his life is getting rougher with each passing day. And I don't think he planned on the mistakes that followed with his drinking. Then again, if he had known, would he have really cared at this point?
