This thread is a response to Zonoma's The Ultimate Drabble Challenge and Index
Week one: Luke Skywalker!
Beginnings
Luke was happy to be leaving; leaving Tatooine, leaving his last vision of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, leaving the desert and the heat and the dust and the grit that would invade every crack and crevice of his body, leaving stagnation and pointlessness, leaving a life of unfulfilled dreams for the endless possibilities of space. He left, however, with a target on his back and in the hands of a smuggler with an attitude. He doubted the ancient ship would make it to Alderaan. His only hope was Ben Kenobi, an old man with the Force and solid connections.
Middles
“Luke, I am your father.”
Hanging tightly to the spire and gazing momentarily at his severed wrist, Luke remembered the Cave on Dagobah. He met Vader, there. He had easily taken the Sith Lord’s head and it was a marvelous feeling until it revealed that the Sith Lord was, in fact, him. He remembered the helmet bursting to flame revealing his own face inside. Looking up from his wrist, he saw that helmet again. Yoda knew. And Ben. He couldn’t hear his own words, though he could feel them, primal and defiant.
“I’ll never join you!”
Then he was falling.
Ends
“Father… Please…Help me.” Luke pleaded, wracked by the pain of the dark Force energy shooting from the Emperor’s fingertips.
Father is a word that really meant nothing to me other than a story. Was he real? I guess as real as I made him. He was a hero of the Republic and a gifted pilot! Stories? He destroyed the Republic and the Jedi. Fantasy and reality. Perhaps even a mix. Uncle Owen would rarely speak of you, and when he did, it was with harsh derision. Owen was bitter…or was it jealous…or sad. Father, is there still good in you?
First
Luke was excited. The thought of going to Ben’s house was, somehow, like opening a treasure chest. As they walked in, Luke took in all he could, trying to extend every sense. They man was such a mystery. He looked for Republic mementos, holo images, lightsabers. Ben was talking, but Luke was still looking into every nook and cranny for signs of life beyond Tatooine. Ben opened a wooden box and pulled a cylindrical object from it.
“This was your father’s the lightsaber.”
Luke took the lightsaber in his hand marveled at the hilt, before thumbing it to life. Incredible.
Last
“Leia…Leia is my sister.”
Sister. I never had a father, much less a brother or sister. Sister. Where did I come from? How are we related? Vader is my father. Leia is my sister? I grew up in the desert, a grain of sand in the galaxy, now a family is coalescing from dark, fractured history. I kissed her. Wait, she kissed me. What will she think? What will Han think? Sister. Mother? How did you know father? What happened to you? What happened to him? I kissed her. She loves him. We will never kiss the same way again.

Wonderful choices, brodiew! I, being the twisted person that I am, especially enjoyed the LAST one. It was , but the imagery of family "coalescing from dark, fractured history" was wonderful.
I kissed her. No she kissed me.
My favorite, though, was your version of Luke's restless, anxious thoughts inside Ben's home. I loved it.
And brew? Someday, you will learn to use the ways of.... spelling my name.

I love the way you handled the "Beginnings, Middles, Ends" themes by using them to illustrate pivotal moments from ANH, ESB, and RotJ.
leaving the desert and the heat and the dust and the grit that would invade every crack and crevice of his body, leaving stagnation and pointlessness, leaving a life of unfulfilled dreams for the endless possibilities of space.
I love the imagery there. These lines are lovely, too: Vader is my father. Leia is my sister? I grew up in the desert, a grain of sand in the galaxy, now a family is coalescing from dark, fractured history.
Good job!

Well that last one was a bit twisted but they did kiss after all...
Very nice insight into Luke’s POV during the most important times of his life….saga wise that is
Great job on the challenge

brodiew - You connected these together very well...I loved being inside Luke's head...I though Last was superbly done - the fliting from one thought to another trying to make sense of it all was spot on...and quite sad in a way.
My favorite was First...I could picture the scene from ANH reading this. Incredible being the first thought to enter Luke's head is such a simple thing, but fits wonderfully.
Well done

This Drabble thing looks to be really fun. Thanks for taking a look at mine...
Zonoma: Sorry about misspelling your name, Z, but I’m thankful for your comments. I’m glad Luke’s wonder at Ben’s home came through.
jedi_of_ennth: Thanks for reading, Ennth. Yes, there are so many reasons Luke looled forward to leaving Tatooine, but being dirty all the time was one of them. I’m glad the OT trilogy references were noticed. Thanks.
KELIA: Thanks, Kelia! I appreciate you stopping by. Yes, I like Luke and it was fun writing such drabblle.
Kestrel_Kenobi: Thanks for reading Kestrel. I was worried that the stream of consciousness didn’t flow. I appreciate your comments. Yes, Luke had a lot going through his mind when he left Tatooine.

Personally I loved BEGINNINGS.
brodiew posted: His only hope was Ben Kenobi, an old man with the Force and solid connections.
Simply brilliant. This is one of the best lines I've read in fanfics. But that's propably because I'm a die-hard Kenobi fan.

These are really good. I love the progression from when he leaves Tatooine and goes on. When he finds out about his family. The words you used to describe that were perfect. Great job with the challenge.

Darth_Laudrup: Thank you for the inspirational words, Darth. I’m a big Kenobi fan as well. My favorite Obi-Wan is ROTS and ANH! I’m happy you liked that line.
Daenarrah: Thanks for reading, Daenarrah. I’m glad you enjoyed the progression. From Tatooine to Force Lightning!
DarthIshtar: Thanks for reading, Ish. I always appreciate your comments.

These are wonderful, brodie! I loved them all and applaude you for doing "the saga" drabbles.
He left, however, with a target on his back and in the hands of a smuggler with an attitude. He hoped the ancient ship would make it to Alderaan. His only hope was Ben Kenobi, an old man with the Force and solid connections.
Just perfect!

Brilliant Brodiew!!!!! All the moments you picked were great and the emotions came through: the fear, uncertainty, pain, loss, love.
I hope someone else does Luke again; first, because there are so many moments to choose, and because, most of all, I can never get enough of Lukie boo.

Great moments captured from Luke in the Saga, but the one I liked the best was visting Obi-Wan. Incredible!

These were great little glimpses into Luke's life... I really like how your writing flows and feels relaxed even though you have to cram everything into 100 words... Makes it very enjoyable to read!

wawoot:Thanks, wawoot. I am honored that you like my style. Read on!
Without further ado, here is WEEK TWO of Luke Skywalker Drabble Babble! Enjoy!
Hours
Luke was no stranger to pain, no stranger to suffering and death, at least not anymore. It had been only hours since Leia and Lando had rescued him from the spire at Bespin. His phantom hand pulsed, and his battered body ached. Vader had beaten him black and blue before landing his knock out blow. He is my Father? Leia had been at his side almost constantly since he came on board the Falcon. He didn’t have the heart to tell her that he just wanted to be alone. They would reach the rebel base soon. He wanted be alone.
Days
In two days, he would be back on Tatooine. He hoped he would never return to that arid dust bowl, but Han needed him and Leia needed Han. Luke liked being needed. He liked having a “family”. Leia seemed like a sister to him, and, in a strange way, Han was like a brother. In some corner of his mind, Luke wanted to return home to solidify his new identity as Jedi Knight. What better place for a coming out party? Free his friend, and if the Hutt didn’t play nice, bring him down. He hoped it would go smoothly.
Weeks
Luke hadn’t seen Han in weeks. Where had he gone this time? Although the arrogant, yet strangely likeable smuggler stuck around after the destruction of the Deathstar, he was still only a part time Rebel. He would disappear for weeks on end and no one was ever sure if he was a mission for Dodonna and the princess or on personal, criminal business. Luke heard grumblings from other pilots and volunteers, but the Rebellion could not afford to be picky. Beside, Luke liked the guy and had kind of latched on to him as…As what? A big brother? Hell, no.
Months
Luke didn’t know anything about babies. He knew that it took nine months for them to come, but that was hardly enough knowledge to be drafted into a birthing situation. He couldn’t believe it. On his first mission after the Deathstar, Luke was helping a young refugee give birth. He was thankful that his partner on the mission was a woman as well. The screaming started to make his head hurt, and there was blood. He had never seen blood like this. Someone said that baby was coming, and reflexively, as if in a daze, he looked…and fainted straight away.
WARNING! This drabble is Beyond the Saga. It still faetures Luke and is LOTF era. Read at your own risk. Dont worry, no spoilers...
Years
Luke Skywalker was weighed down by years of mediation, facilitation, accommodation, concession, and compromise. As a matter of fact, it had made him tired and lazy. He remembered confronting his father in the Emperor’s throne room. Then, he said in strength and singleness of purpose, “I will not fight you!” Now, he said as much to his nephew from a position of confused weakness. The Force had been telling him what to do, but he had been blind to see it, too deaf to hear it, and too numb to feel it. He felt it now.
“I will fight you!”
