	Fifilla – Yeah, you are back! Great chapter! That was my favorite scene - Qui-Gon and Han are really funny together! –- Yes I came back then went away again, I’m sorry for that. Qui-Gon and Han are two of my favorite characters to have together. I think I’ve said this before but they’re just so well suited for a friendship. ccp – Ah, I love this. She just keeps digging herself a deeperhole with info she shouldn't have. –- That’s Leia for you, never knows when to keep her mouth shut. LOL Araxie – I love that line. It should have been in the movie!!!!!!!! I wonder what will happen to Ghost Han's memory as situations keep changing and what he knows happens does not happen. We are already seeing the small effects of this as Leia becomes more in tune with the force. -– Well, if I tell you, then I’d have to kill you. J/K but yes when we finally get to the end of this story (in the year 2020) you’ll see what happens with the memories. PonyTricks – Whoooohooooo! You updated your story today, too!! Leia's escaped from the Death Star, and Young/Alive Han is confused as to why she knows so much about him! LOL! This is great. -– That Leia is just a world of entertainment, in and of herself. Golden_Jedi – Poor Leia! ANH!Han was really kind of... obnoxious. At least she's not on the Death Star anymore. I'm very happy you found time to update this. -– Thanks! Let’s not forget ANH!Han was kinda of obnoxious, especially compared to ESB cuttie Han. dm1 – Yes! You posted more! So it seems things are slightly out of kilter here, and Leia is revealing more knowledge than she intended. Hmmm.... –- I know . . . wait till you read the end of this chapter. RogueSticks – SQUEE!!!!! IT IS BACK! I just... have no words. Except that I love it. And you. And we should probably get married because the love I have for you for writing this is unholy. -– More like the time between updating is unholy. LOL BigFatty – As for harassing you into writing another chapter--you're welcome. This was a great and hilarious chapter. Love the interaction between Qui-Gon and Han. Please don't wait so long for another update. –- Sorry ::hangs head:: I have failed you. Jade_Max – The same, yet different - but Ghost Han does have a point - he did get a hug in the trash compactor before I love how Leia keeps throwing her info at Han without thinking about it and getting caught. First his name, then his profession and finally Jabba! I'd say she's captivated our good Captain by simply being able to tell him about himself. The argument about credits at the end was priceless A bad holodrama or a good one depending on who you ask! Awesome update - was so happy to see it! –- Yes, Captain Solo is captivated by our lose lipped Princess . . . mostly because he wants to kiss those lips! Zonoma – Leah! I was thrilled when, while sitting on my couch, Wyn looked up at me and asked if she could use my DVD to do a scene check for you. YOU ARE WRITING AGAIN! How cool is that? hugs First of all: CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AWARDS! Best Romance and Best Canon Female… richly deserved, too. Secondly: I loved this chapter! Now we really begin to see where Han has screwed with the future. I just hope that the consequences are not too dire. I’m not too worried though because you are a diehard when it comes to happy endings! Which is a relief right now, let me tell you! Was that ornery? Or horny? I’m just saying… she’s fallen for this guy and never actually touched him and now, there he is, in the flesh… I just hope that the shock of who he was versus who she knows isn’t too great in the end! Ouch. Another way the future was changed. She never gave Luke a chance. Which, when you think about it, is likely for the better but I have to wonder – if he doesn’t stay on for the beautiful princess??? Are his other reasons incentive enough? I like to think so, anyway. And the whole garbage chute scene. What a difference! She just digs her hole deeper and deeper, though one can’t really blame her. Perhaps this idea of Qui-Gon’s wasn’t so great. What else is going to change all because of Han’s meddling? I mean, poor Han didn’t even get his hug! Will he still get his kiss in the belly of a space slug?? Poor princess. It’s going to be a long few years, isn’t it? –- You can say that again. A LONG few years for the Princess, hahahahahahaha ::evil grin::. As for changing the future, just you wait . . . Ghost Han is gonna get an earful from Qui-Gon after this next chapter. Pairx2 – WOW. I could NOT BE HAPPIER! I never gave up hope! And here you are again -- yippeeee! Thank you! I love time travel stories, but until this one, I believed they didn't fit in SW. Please post another chapter toon! -– Wow, thank you for the complement. I am truly humbled. Will Vader find out the truth behind Leia's parentage soon? Come to think of it, when he senses Luke at Yavin, will he put two and two together? The interaction between Han, Leia and the ghosts is great! It's going to be interesting seeing Han woo Leia in both forms.....and she'll be able to keep his younger self even more off balance then she did initially! Hmmmmmm....since Leia's force potential has been awakened will she go with Luke to Dagobah? Or will Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan teach them? I was wondering, Vader knows that a spirit has been with Leia, but does he know who it is? Or will he assume it's Padme when/if he actually sees those blood tests? But then, he did face Han directly in Leia's dream....but did he get a good look at the living Han? That brief scene when Leia was touched by tha dark side was spooky! It reminded me of Vader's attempts on Luke at Bespin. Many thanks for writing such a great story! -- ::Faints from all the questions:: Okay, the ones I can answer without giving too much away. The blood test was run just for the midichlorian count, not for DNA. At least not yet Yes, she’ll be able to keep young Han off balance but now she actually knows his potential so she might try different tactics. Vader believes Han to be the spirit. 	Okay so thank Fatty for continuing to harass me and also for Beta-ing. She rocks my sox!! Because of the long break between updates I felt bad about PMing people so I didn't do it. If you don't care about the length of time between updates and want a PM anyway then let me know and I'll do a list for the next chapter. _________________________ Chapter 11 The corridor was quiet as she padded out to the galley. Pouring herself a glass of water, Leia held it up to her forehead in hopes of cooling herself down. The nightmare had been overwhelming, causing her to awake with a start. She remembered pleading for her ghostly protector to appear, but he was nowhere to be found. And now, as she stood alone in the darkened room, she looked around in hopes that maybe he’d finally come back from the exile she had cast him to. “They say it’s bad luck to drink alone,” the gruff voice said startling her. The Princess turned to see Han in his pants without any shirt or shoes. Her eyes raked over his broad chest, causing her temperature to spike once again. “Like what you see?” he asked with a smirk. Before her encounters with his ghostly counterpart, Leia would probably deflect the conversation or get defensive and start an argument because of her insecurities. Now, however, her confidence was a tad stronger, allowing her this momentary flare of courage to flirt back. “The body, yes. But not the ego,” her voice quivered ever so slightly, but not enough for Han to notice. He took a step closer, hanging his hands on a pipe above them. “You have a thing for bad boys, Princess?” “Actually, I happen to like nice men,” her voice took on an icy tone in an attempt to keep herself collected. Pointing to himself, Han said with a lopsided, “I happen to be a nice man.” A sly smile crept on her face, “You’re right,” she paused. “You are.” Leia eased herself past the smuggler, throwing over her shoulder, “You just don’t want anyone to know it.” She could barely contain the smile on her face as she continued to walk away, feeling victorious in her verbal match with the younger Han Solo. A few moments later, she was settling into the co-pilot’s chair; she didn’t need to use the Force to know Han was following her. He took a seat but remained quiet for another minute or two. “So,” he started slowly. “I know why I’m up. Why are you?” “Couldn’t sleep,” she said before taking a sip of her water. He rolled his eyes dramatically. “Obviously,” he said with exasperation. “I was asking about the reason behind it.” “Let’s just say Vader’s hospitality is lacking,” she whispered, keeping her eyes focused on her glass. The smuggler looked out the viewport, “Chewie always says it’s better to talk about things then to let them fester.” “Wookiees happen to be very insightful,” Leia said in a lighter tone. “They see things simply, without the politics, without the judgment. They live a life of honor and in doing so live a life of honesty.” “Great,” he said dryly. “Should have looked into that before I saved the big oaf.” The Princess looked over at Han. She knew the story of how the two friends had met and that Han had given up a life in the Imperial Navy to save Chewbacca, but something pushed her to ask him about it. “How’d you save him?” “It’s a boring story,” he said quickly. Leia gestured towards the glow of hyperspace, “I’ve got plenty of time.” Running his hand through his hair, Han took a breath before answering. “Well, I happened to be at the right place at the right time.” He went on to retell the whole story, though the Princess noticed he failed to mention the Imperial Academy part. It didn’t matter, because the low timber of his voice was enough to help lull her back to sleep. She scarcely remembered feeling him pick her up and placing her back in bed. Panic set in as the shapes of her nightmares once again took form, but this time a presence filled her dreams. Not quite making himself known, but giving her enough comfort to sleep peacefully through the rest of the night. -- “Why have you stayed away?” Qui-Gon asked as the two ghosts watched her wake up the next morning. “I figure she’s gotta spend some time with the real me,” the dead smuggler said with no enthusiasm. “Otherwise I might cut and run before we can figure out who killed me.” A large smile appeared on the Jedi’s face. “Very responsible of you.” “Yeah, well,” Han started to grumble. “Mark the date and time.” The Jedi patted him on the back. “I believe she’ll need your support once we arrive at Yavin.” “Don’t know about that,” he said under his breath. “What was that?” Han shook his head, “Nothing.” They moved from the crew quarters to the galley where Chewie was eating his breakfast, while the droids were running diagnostics on each other. “The Wookiee knows the Princess is a Jedi, or at least one in training,” Qui-Gon stated as they approached the table. “How?” Han asked. Folding his arms in his usual manner Qui-Gon explained, “They can smell the different chemical make-up in a Force sensitive being. That’s why any Wookiee with the potential to wield the Force is separated and given special training early on.” Han narrowed his eyes. “You’re worried Chewie might confront her about it in front of everyone?” “Possibly.” Just then Leia walked into the galley, twisting her hair back up into the bun. She grabbed a bowl and made a small breakfast before taking a seat at the table with the Wookiee. “I’ll warn her,” Han whispered before taking the few strides over to the table. Kneeling down, he slowly appeared beside her. “Hey, Princess.” Han watched as she looked over at him, a smile quickly encompassed her face before she had to turn back to the bowl. “Swirl your spoon twice, if you can hear me,” he said softly. She did so and gave Chewie a quick glance and a smile before turning her attention back to the bowl. “Listen carefully, Sweetheart. Chewie can smell that you’re Force sensitive. You need to convince him not to tell anyone for a while. Understand?” Swirling her spoon twice, Leia took a deep breath as she looked up at the Wookiee. “Han calls you Chewie,” she stated. The Wookiee just nodded in response. Forcing a smile, Leia continued. “You can sense that I’m Force sensitive, can’t you?” Again he just nodded. “My training and my abilities need to stay a secret, at least for the time being.” Chewie woofed a response, forcing Han to translate. “He said, ‘What about Luke?’ He always did worry about the kid,” the smuggler explained. “I know you’re worried about Luke right now. I am too, but he can’t know about me. Not yet,” she pleaded. “Please, Chewie.” The Wookiee considered this for a moment before slowly nodding. The Princess breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank you.” They sat in silence a few more minutes as they finished eating, Chewie was the first to get up and point towards the cockpit. “I’ll let Han know you’re up there,” Leia said before taking another bite. Once the Wookiee was gone Qui-Gon appeared with a smile, “Your Highness, I’m glad to see you eating.” “It’s nice having a real meal for a change,” her voice was soft. “What are we going to do about Luke?” She looked to Qui-Gon then to Han who had taken a seat across from her. “Luke’s path is different then yours,” Qui-Gon started. “I believe events are changing. The future of the Rebellion hangs in the balance, and until I can see the different possibilities, I’d prefer you kept your abilities to yourself.” Leia just nodded before sighing, “I know we have a few holo-discs on them in the Alliance library. I should have Threepio put them on a data disc so he can read them between missions.” “I’m sure he’ll be grateful,” Qui-Gon said. Han snorted, “I’m sure he’ll be falling at your feet.” “Jealous?” the Princess asked while arching an eyebrow. The ghost shrugged, “That he has a pulse? Sure.” Just then the sound, of Luke emerging from the crew cabin caused the ghosts to disappear from the Princess’ view. “I’ve tried to comfort him the best I could,” the younger voice of Obi-Wan startled Han as he looked over at the man. Folding his arms over his chest, Han quipped, “You’re gonna grace us with your presence now?” “Don’t start you two,” Qui-Gon grumbled. -- “We’re only about fifteen minutes out if you both would like to join us,” the smuggler’s voice echoed over the intercom. Leia had spent most of the day reading; she had caught Luke watching her several times and picked up on the uneasy feeling he had about the Rebellion. With a determined deep breath, she stood and walked over to him. “Any particular reason you haven’t talked to me?” she asked with a mischievous smile. Luke blushed as he stood to walk with her towards the cockpit. “I’m a bit embarrassed, I guess.” “Embarrassed?” “I’ve been mourning the loss of one man, while you lost an entire race,” he said quietly. “And all this time you’ve tried to comfort me when it should be the other way around.” She stopped and put her hand on his shoulder, “Sometimes we find are own strength when we help others. Whether we lose one person or a billion, the grief is still the same,” taking a steady breath she continued. “I will find a time and place to mourn my people, but for now the only way to truly honor them is to – ” The screaming of a woman in labor pierced the air, instinctively Leia moved her hands to cover her ears, and once she released her hold on Luke the sounds died away. “Your Highness,” Luke said as he reached out to steady her. “Are you alright?” Trying to clear her mind, she shook her head slightly and looked up at the young man’s concerned face. “Did you hear that?” Luke looked around, “Hear what?” “Thought I heard a hitch in the engines,” her years of politics kicking in as she smiled. “We’re about to drop out of hyperspace,” he offered. Leia just nodded her head before they continued walking, “Must be it.” They entered the cockpit to find Chewie and Han arguing. “We’re not staying and that’s final!” The room fell silent as the Princess and Luke took their seats. Leia sat behind Chewie so she could purposefully be in Han’s peripheral vision. She watched him closely but looked away whenever he glanced upwards. The Falcon shook as it dropped out of hyperspace, and the orange glow of the planet Yavin filled the viewport. “Now what? Han asked as he maneuvered the yoke. Without asking Leia leaned forward and punched in the frequency code, “Alliance command, this is Organa clearance code one-one-two-eight-omega-alpha. Please respond.” Everyone held their breath as they waited for any type of response. “This is flight control, we do not recognize the ship’s ID signature,” the nervous voice of a Rebel officer broke the silence. Leia went to respond but was stopped by Han, “Of course you don’t because I never registered it,” he snapped. “Look in your logs for Solo, then you’ll see the Falcon listed as a smuggling freighter.” Everyone gave the man an annoyed look. “What?” he asked innocently. Pressing the button Leia added, “Please be advised Solo is carrying the artoo unit with the stolen plans.” “Understood. Escort will bring you to main hanger bay,” said the officer. Minutes later, they were flying over the lush fourth moon of Yavin. The old stone temples and structures were now camouflaged with ivy and other brush that had taken over the ruins, making it an ideal base for the Rebellion. Leia saw the excitement on Luke’s face as he watched the X-Wing fighters beside them with great interest. “That’s what you’ll be flying,” she whispered to him. His smile was infectious, “You think so?” “I know so,” she replied. “I have a little pull with the people in charge.” Luke blushed as he turned back to look at the fighters who broke off shortly after as the large hanger base came into view. Han maneuvered them into a perfect landing. Before the Rebel controller signaled they had touched down, the Princess was already up and out of her seat. “Threepio, Artoo,” she shouted as she made her way over to the ramp. “In a rush?” Han teased. With a flat stare she looked up at the man, “We don’t have much time, this ship was tracked.” The ramp was finally down and the group started moving as Leia and Han continued to argue. “How many times do I have to tell you there ain’t any – ” “You’re Highness, our scans indicate a tracking device was planted on the ship,” said the Rebel officer. With a triumphant smile she turned to Han. “Chewie! Find out where the hell it is and disconnect it,” he growled. The Wookiee woofed something which caused the smuggler to glare at him for a few moments longer. Leia was about to offer her sympathies to the creature when she felt a familiar presence. A presence that had always brought her comfort and reassurance that everything would turn out for the best. It was a presence she thought had died with her people. Quickly, her eyes began to search the hanger deck as a crowd had gathered to congratulate them on their escape from the Death Star. “Leia!” his voice rang out above all the others. She closed her eyes and thanked the Gods for granting her this blessing, a solitary tear of joy slid down her cheek as her lips curled into a genuine smile. When she finally looked up, the crowed had parted to give her a view of the man she never expected to see. “Father!” she cried out. The pair ran towards one another, and when he was within reach, Bail picked her up and spun her around in circles. “I thought I lost you,” he repeated over and over in a broken whisper. The cheers drowned out any chance of a response, so the Princess was content to just hold him as long as she could, knowing how close she had come to losing him. 	Glad to see you updated this. You can put me back on the PM list. So.... Bail is alive in this version of her life. I wonder how that will change things, and how he will like Han as a potential suitor for his daughter. Hmmm... that's a twist I never thought of. 	You have no Idea how psyched I was to see this updated! You must put me back on your PM list... please I adore this story! Leia dealing with younger Han is pretty hilarious - how she keeps putting him on his ear is just awesome. I love the imagery - shirt-less Han wandering around the Falcon? soooo goood.... hmmmm... er... Yeah, and then Leia pressing him for details. Han and Qui-Gon are hilarious as Force Ghosts - as is Obi-Wan lol! And then Chewie being able to smell the difference between Force and non-force sensitives. I hadn't thought of that possibility Hmm, leaves open tons of possibilities Leia's force vision about her mother was creepy - and the way she covered it. I can't believe Luke bought it - our naive farmboy shakes her head And Bail! You have Bail alive in this - what a fun dynamic - I can't wait to see what he thinks of Solo gunning for his daughter laughs Bravo! 	So Bail made it! It looks as though Han's "ripples" are spreading very fast now. I liked seeing the talk between Leia, Chewie, and Han. Hmmm, if Chewie can tell that Luke and Leia are force sensitive by scent, then did he realize their family connection as well? It was also interesting to see how Han decided to let his younger self get to know Leia; and how Leia herself was smoothing their interactions. It was also fun watching the byplay between Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Han. I wonder though, if Leia's brief force vision of her mother something that she unconciously had before in the first reality? If she continues having visions like that Luke and Vader might pick up on them. Shudders at the thought of Vader knowing. I wonder if Qui-Gon meant that Luke and Leia would die literally if Han's mission fails; or if they would turn like their father and lose themselves? Thanks for this latest chapter, and your take on the story is fantastic! Here's hoping for more glimpses of Han without a shirt!
