Hello Folks,
Sadly it's more bad news. At this moment I'm on a friends computer as my broadband connection has died.
Good news is that this will mean I'll be able to concentrate on writing the next chapter, which as about half way there at the moment, and it'll be quite a long one, with a few guest appearances 
And to answer one or two questions...Padme is very actually certainly and without a doubt....dead.
I know you'd love her to stay alive, but her death is an important part of the plot for the story. She may make another appearance at some point, but other than that, I'm saying no more.
Have fun, and thanks for your patience.

Thanks dude, sorry for the delay in the reply. It was Ossus that was blwon, not Coruscant.

Hi guys,
Good news!! My ISP reconnected my broadband this morning, so to celebrate the fact that I'm back, (or to mourn...) I've posted the latest update here for you delectation. The rest of the story has by now been mapped out pretty much, and I won't be giving anything away anymore, you'll just have to read.
But with my connection back, I'm hoping that the gaps between updates will be less.
Here it is. Do enjoy and thanks for your patience.
Chapter 12
Anakin stood at the point where he and Padme had their wedding ceremony three years ago. The view was just as breath-taking now as it was then. The lake seemed to stretch forever until it came up to the foot of the mountains which seemed a parsec away.
He took a deep breath trying to find his centre. No matter what he did, it wouldn’t come. His mind kept wandering off on different tangents. Memories of the past, hopes of the future, the desire for revenge.
Revenge. He cast his mind back to the events on Grievous’ flagship. He should have seen it then, no, he should have seen it sooner, when Palpatine told him it was natural to want revenge after what the Sandpeople did to his mother. If only he’d listened to Obi-Wan, they wouldn’t be in this mess. The problem was Obi-Wan was still mourning for Qui-Gon when he took Anakin on as an apprentice. Which left the youngster feeling isolated due to Obi-Wan’s closedness. But soon, a genuine bond of trust formed between them. One which he almost allowed to be destroyed.
He refocused his mind, and tried to meditate again. It was something he was never that good at if he was honest. But the stakes were far too high for him not to do it.
His thoughts were interrupted again, not by his wandering mind, but by a presence in the Force. He could hear no footsteps, but he was sure someone was there. He tried to pay no attention to whoever it was that sneaked up on him, until he heard a familiar voice.
“You’ve grown Ani.”
Anakin spun round to see the glowing form of Master Qui-Gon Jinn standing before him. Anakin’s eyes widened in shock. His mouth wide enough to fly a cruiser through.
“Master Qui-Gon!!” he exclaimed. “I…..what….”
The scepteral form of Qui-Gon lifted up his hands to silence the sputtering young man, laughing gently.
“There’s no time for questions my friend, sadly I’m here on urgent business.”
Immediately Anakin was silent. “Anakin, I’m not sure you’re aware of all that’s gone on in the Force over the last three years?” Anakin nodded, “The dark side clouded everything, making it hard to see the future.”
Qui-Gon nodded, and motioned Anakin to sit on a nearby bench. “Well, in the nether world of the Force, a great battle was waged. The dark side rose to such strength, it would take only a butterfly to tip the balance. If it tipped to the Dark Side, the galaxy would be enslaved to the Sith forever.” Anakin was about to say something when Qui-Gon stopped him. “You were the one Anakin, for the last three years, whether you’ve known it or not, you’ve been on a knife edge between light and darkness.” Anakin didn’t break the silence that followed, he allowed Qui-Gon time to go on with his narrative.
“During that time both sides of the Force waited with anticipation, and at Palpatine’s office, you nearly fell, as you did when Padme was killed.” A stab of pain went through Anakin’s heart as Qui-Gon mentioned Padme. “But you’ve come through it all Anakin. You’ve proven yourself worthy to be a Jedi master, but one thing remains.”
Anakin nodded, “Sidious.” He said quietly. Qui-Gon placed a hand on his shoulder. Anakin felt surprise at the fact Qui-Gon could even touch him. “But how can I defeat him? If I use my anger, then I’ll be just as bad as him, and that’ll turn me to the Dark Side.”
“Anakin” he said quietly, “what do you suppose was meant by the prophecy regarding you? The one of you bringing balance to the Force?”
Anakin thought for a moment in silence, “that I’m supposed to destroy the Sith.”
Qui-Gon chuckled, “no, that’s part of it, but that’s not your destiny.” Anakin looked very confused, but allowed Qui-Gon to carry on. “You see Anakin, every Jedi has darkness in him. He can’t help it, he’s a product of the race he belongs too. What defines a Jedi is how he deals with that Darkness. That’s your purpose Anakin, to show how each and every Jedi can bring balance to the Force in their own lives.”
Something akin to a light switched on in Anakin’s mind. Again Qui-Gon spoke.
“Now your feelings towards Sidious, who not only did he killed your wife, the Jedi Order and not to mention countless innocent beings, what would you call that Anakin?”
Anakin was perplexed, he wasn’t sure where this was going. “I’d call it anger.”
Qui-Gon nodded, “and if you were to confront him in that anger, why would you do it?”
“Because he’s caused the suffering and deaths of billions of innocent lives.” Anakin answered.
“Very good Anakin,” said Qui-Gon, “so you’re saying it’s a matter of justice?”
Anakin nodded.
“Good!” Qui-Gon beamed, “you see Anakin; there is such a thing as righteous anger. It’s not vengeance; it’s born out of love for that which is right and just in this universe. And to act on that anger, for the common good, is never wrong, and it will never lead to the Dark Side.”
Anakin was now thoroughly lost. “But master Yoda says that anger…”
Qui-Gon cut across him abruptly, “It’s not your anger that leads you to the Dark side, or your hatred or whatever else you’ve been told. It’s your motives Anakin. Remember what I told you on that landing platform all those years ago?”
Anakin nodded, “my focus determines my reality.”
Qui-Gon nodded approvingly, “well done, you remembered. Keep that in mind at all times Anakin, it’ll help you in the final confrontation. It’ll be coming soon.”
Anakin’s head dropped, “but I can’t do it master, not alone.”
Qui-Gon placed his hand under Anakin’s chin, lifting up his face to look him in the eyes. “Anakin, there is nothing in the prophecy about the Chosen One doing this alone. You have much to learn Anakin, open yourself to learning. Take the attitude of a Padawan, and unlearn what you’ve learned thus far, and re-learn. You have some time. Sidious is over confident, and he’ll wait for you to come to him. Use the time wisely.”
Qui-Gon’s form began to vanish. “Remember Anakin, your focus determines your reality.”
Anakin put his head in his hands, unsure of what to do.
