To Be Us {For Handmaiden_Azul} 12/18
A while back my Padawan challenged me to do this...so I did.
Merry Christmas!
If you don't guess, 'tis a crackship
Pooja stopped brushing her long hair as she gazed out the window. She frowned at the ever pouring rain, Naboo’s wet season had started two months ago and there wouldn’t be a single ray of sunshine until it was over, two months from now.
Nothing fun ever happened, at the age of sixteen, Pooja was a beautiful girl and was ready to date, but all the guys her age were too afraid to ask, since she was the niece of the former Queen and now the Senator.
She placed her hair behind her ear and frowned again, she was beautiful as everyone had said; she looked more and more like Padme Amidala then ever before. Pooja loved her aunt just as much as her own mother, but the young teen wanted to be known for herself, and not as Padme’s look-a-like niece.
Something thumped on the outside wall, bringing the young girl out of her inspection of herself; she hurried to the window, pulling her robe closer around her shoulders.
She peered out the rain soaked window, her nose pressing against the cold glass. Squinting her eyes she saw what appeared to be a man, sitting on the top of the wall, he was holding something long, and black?
She wasn’t sure, not until a flash of red shot out at her from the stick. She yelped and hit the floor, thanking the force that they had shields over their windows.
When she peeked over the window sill, the man was trying to leave. Ever the one for adventure, Pooja rushed out of her room and tore down the stairs, she hurried out onto the rain soaked ground, her toes squishing in the mud, she hurried to where she had seen the man, her hair was now glued to her skin, as her robe and gown plastered against her body, the white material almost see-through.
When she came to the place in the wall where the man had fired at her, she sighed, he was no longer there. She turned to see if anyone had followed her, and then she climbed the wall.
She huffed as she landed on her feet on the other side. She looked around, not seeing him, but seeing a pair of running footprints she followed them.
She ran and ran until she came upon a small camp, she hid behind a green tarp as she spied a man, more like boy, walking around the his camp, saying things like, “I can’t believe I didn’t make that shot.” And “How can she be alive after all these years, I read of her death in the holo. She must have been a ghost.” He mumbled.
Pooja stepped around the tarp dodging things as she reached the small blaster that was resting on a makeshift cot.
She stepped up closer to the boy and placed the tip of the blaster to his back, “Tell me why you shot at me and maybe you will live.”
The man froze and then without warning he grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm behind her, he now held the blaster at her throat.
“I see, maybe we should reassess that.” His dark eyes took in the young girl. He gasped, this wasn’t Padme Amidala, it couldn’t be, she was to young, that and the fact that he could practically see everything of this girl made him let go of her arm and throw her forward.
Pooja screamed as she landed on the wet ground with a thud. As she picked herself up she turned and glared at him, “What was that for?” she yelled at him.
“I…I…um…” the man struggled to speak.
She put her hands on her wet hips and continued to glare, “Can you please tell me why you shot at me and then tried to kill me just now, before screaming like a girl and throwing me to the ground?” her brown eyebrows rose as she spoke.
“You’re not Amidala.” He finally managed to say.
“Duh, she’s dead.” She smirked.
“I know,” he shook his head, “I mean, well I read that she dies years ago, and then I saw you, and thought that…”he frowned at Pooja’s grin, “Hey, she practically survived three or four death attempts, my father’s included.”
“What?” Pooja demanded.
“I…never mind, it doesn’t matter.” He frowned; his dark hair was still dripping water as he went over to a box and sat on it. “Are you stupid?”
“Excuse me?”
“Well I mean I tried to kill you and then you run after me, and now, after another failed attempt at killing you, you’re still here.” He folded his arms across his chest.
‘Yeah, so?” she spat out.
“So what are you still doing here?”
“I want to know why you wanted to kill my aunt.”
“That explains why you look like her. You better go, before I try to kill you again.”
“Whatever, you don’t have the heart to kill me, nor the face.”
He laughed evilly, “My face is a face of a bounty hunter, of a man that kills first and asks questions later. A face that…”
He was cut off by Pooja, “Whatever, you have a baby face and I don’t think you could harm a fly.”
The man growled, “I should fire you in the mouth, does it ever shut?”
“What’s your name?” she asked as she sat on another crate.
“Don’t sit, don’t stay, just leave.” He seemed to be calming down.
“I’m Pooja, yes, Amidala’s niece. But sometimes I wish I wasn’t, yes I do look like her, but, I’m me inside. I just wish people would see that instead.” She pulled her wet robe of her chest and then rubbed her shoulders with her hands.
“I’m Boba Fett.” The man said, he liked this girl, she was spunky, daring and the two of them knew how it felt to look like another.
“Nice to meet you.” She smiled.
Days turned into months as the rain continued to pore, Pooja and Boba met almost everyday. They talked of their lives and what they hoped to achieve one day.
Little did they know that everyday they were being watched.
Over a bowl of hot soup that Pooja supplied the two smiled at each other, “I can’t wait for you to meet my parents, they’ll love you.” Almost as much as I do, she said with a smile.
Boba’s dark face paled, “I can’t meet them, Ja.” He said using her nickname.
“Why?”
“Do you think your parents would want to meet the man that tried to kill you twice? A man that is a bounty hunter’s son, one that tried to kill your aunt?”
“But they don’t have to know.” She pleaded.
“But they would know.” He stood and held out his hand, which she took. She joined him, both standing, boot tips to slipper tips, “I have to go.”
Her heart shattered into a million pieces, “But why?” a tear formed in her eye, Boba brushed it away.
“Because it’s time for me to go.” He touched her petal soft cheek, “because I love you too much to stay.” And with that he bent forward and grasped her lips with his, the kiss exploded into a more passion filled one as time stood still.
Boba was the first to pull away, his finger tips brushing her tears away as he kissed her again, this time much slower, “I will always love you.” He said as pulled her out into the rain, taking her to the wall. Before he lifted her to the top, Pooja kissed him again, with everything in her.
“I love you to, Boba. I don’t know why you have to go, but, I will never forget you.” She said with a sob as she was lifted over the wall.
Boba stood there listening to the woman he loved cry, tears formed in his eyes as he took a step away. His heart breaking.

Awww....how bittersweet.
I wouldn't have expected such kindness and tenderness in Boba but it was lovely to see.
He was probably very smart to leave Pooja at the end, though it broke her heart.
Great job on this!
