Poof has a love-hate relationship with the Saga. On the one hand, it’s where he has his shinning moments as a Jedi Knight on the Jedi Council. On the other hand, he dies during the Saga era, and that wasn’t much fun at all.

Glad you enjoyed the Yoda scene because I felt it was important that Mace be confronted for the choice he had made. He had taken it upon himself to take care of Palpatine and the result was his destruction, but three Jedi Masters are dead and it nearly plunged Anakin to the dark side.

Darth Kripp
I do not think it is a bad thing that Anakin devotes himself to the Jedi Order, his honor is still intact and not to mention he is not consumed by the hate of the dark side.

I will add you to pm list.

Burial of the Jedi Masters

The Jedi Order gathered for the funeral procession of the three fallen Jedi Masters that had given their lives to destroy the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious. There was a great sense of a relief that the Sith Lord had finally been destroyed and not been allowed to destroy what was left of the Republic. It was believed by the Jedi that had the Chancellor not been destroyed by Mace Windu, then it would have meant destruction of the Jedi Order and the Republic. Before the ceremony, the council had officially granted Anakin the title of Master and this time fully welcomed him to that position within the order with all the benefits to come with it for a Jedi Master on the High Council. Anakin for the first time felt truly a part of the order and any who had doubted him before were now convinced not only in his abilities, but that he deserved to be a Jedi Master on the High Council. It was the first step in what Yoda vaguely described as the Dawn of a New Age for the Jedi Order.

In addition to the Jedi in attendance was the newly elected Supreme Chancellor Bail Organa, who received the largest majority of votes in the history of the Republic for his election. Within a few hours of his election, he had made peace with the Separatist Leaders by granting amnesty to them and vowing that if they agreed to rejoin the Republic then diplomatically he would resolve the issues that had caused them to separate in the first place. All the Federation Battle Droids had been shut down and the Clone Soldiers were instantly turned from an aggressive attack force into a peace keeping one. They supervised the droid army’s disarmament while withdrawing from the battlefields as the war was now officially over. Sounds of victory and celebration for the war being over were shown throughout the Republic, most notably the Wookiees who celebrated their tree world being saved.

Other notable members of the Senate in attendance were Senator Amidala of Naboo who could no longer hide her pregnancy as it could be seen by all and felt by the Jedi. Master Yoda was the first to ask the identity of the father, but she replied she did not feel comfortable revealing his identity and she wished to keep it private. No one pushed the matter, but everyone knew she was hiding the information. The tabloids had already begun to embarrass her with news stories of who they believed the father to be, but all those present respected her far to much to invade her privacy and try to read her mind to who the father’s identity actually was.

In attendance was also Senator Mon Mothma, who was a promising young politician from Corellia who had caught the eye of Bail Organa and now Chairman of the Reformist committee. There were various other politicians that were in attendance, who now found themselves in prominence now that Palpatine was dead. Zang Far was the other most notable Senator in the room as he was on of the leaders of the reinstated committees that had been abolished during the reign of Palpatine. Only Sate Pestage was a prominent Senator during Palpatine’s reign who was still in power and had passionately led a new faction in the Senate called Loyalists who refused to believe Palpatine was a Sith Lord. They also believed that there was no evidence beyond the word of the Jedi to support that claim. Every other notable Senator present was quickly becoming what the Senate was beginning to refer to as Reformists and advocated a return to the implementation of the ideals of the Republic.

The session began as Mace Windu was the first to speak; reminding everyone what his friends had died for and that they had made the ultimate sacrifice for the Republic. Master Yoda then lengthily spoke about the Jedi Masters accomplishments and how each of them were examples that every Jedi should aspire to become. Of the Jedi he spoke of, Jedi Master Fisto brought the most emotion Anakin had ever seen from Yoda as he spoke primarily of his passionate efforts to free Mon Calamari from the Separatist forces. He even motioned the very unpopular Senator from Naboo, Jar Jar Binks, and reminded all those present how they had saved the planet from falling into a state of civil war. It was one of the only examples of how diplomacy had prevailed during the Clone Wars.

The last thing he exemplified was that the fallen Jedi who had died throughout the Clone Wars was now a part of the force and that they should not grieve or miss them as someday they would all join them there. As Yoda spoke these words, Anakin reflected on the ghost of Palpatine he believed he saw and wondered if any of these Jedi Masters were truly one with the force.

Master Yoda then held a moment of silence before he spoke, “To the Force we commit these Jedi.” The bodies were engulfed in flames and slowly the ceremony commenced as the masters burned in the fires; the traditional way a Jedi’s body was prepared as their essence traveled to become one with the force.

Then without warning Padme cried out in pain and fell to her knees, followed by her escort C3P0 cried out, “My Goodness, are you alright my lady?”

Anakin was horrified as the vision of his dream of his wife dieing engulfed him and all he could think about was Padme and the baby. He moved faster then he could have ever conceived himself doing as he raced to her side and kneeled down beside her and nervously asked her, “Are you alright?”

She looked up at him with tears forming around her eyes and lovingly replied, “It is time.”

“It is time?” Anakin replied confused until he answered his own question with the understanding that the baby was coming. “It is time.” He smiled at her and then used the force to lift her off the ground as she assumed a sitting position. Anakin then turned to C3P0 and ordered, “Get the speeder ready.”

“Yes Master Annie,” C3P0 replied as he mechanically waddled his way toward the hanger bay to prep the family speeder. Anakin began to escort his wife out of the room when Chancellor Bail Organa approached them and suggested, “Master Skywalker, perhaps it would be better if I escort Senator Amidala to the medical facility.”

Before Anakin could respond, Padme said to the Chancellor, “It is ok, I would prefer it if Anakin were to take me there Chancellor.”

Anakin did not wait for the Chancellor’s approval or for any of the Jedi Masters to say anything as he escorted his wife toward the exit of the chamber. “As you wish my lady.” Bail replied as he went back to the procession but never looked away from the couple as they left the room.

What just transpired did not escape the attention of Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu, who exchanged glances with each other and then glanced toward Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan nodded as he caught the Jedi Masters gaze knowing what they wanted him to do. He pulled his hood over his head and made his way to the door preparing to follow Anakin, knowing the council wished to know whether Anakin truly was the father or not. He was not looking forward to finding out the truth, but as he had many times before today, would do his duty and follow the council instructions.

The is great, Milteck. I loved the original "Dawn of A New Age", but this is even better. I love the detail you're adding, and I was extremely pleased to see Yoda dress Mace down like he did. I'm certain he would have done the same thing had Mace survived, whether Anakin had turned or not, although he probably would have been a bit nicer, had Mace lived but the Massacre at the temple still occurred. I can't wait to see you're next updated chapter where Obi-wan finally learns Anakin and Padme's secret. Keep up the great writing.

One comes out, another comes in. This is the natural law.
The consequences won't be those Anakin is figuring; at least I hope.

Mace being confronted about Yoda was an important addition to this story. Yoda knew how powerful Sidious was, perhaps more then any other Jedi on the Council and he would have wanted to be there to face him. Mace going up against Sidious had been very reckless and though the ends justified the means in Dawn, in ROTS he paid the price for his overconfidence. I also thought Mace probably thought he was facing a weak and frail politician who was skilled in the dark side, not a true Sith Lord that was perhaps the strongest ever to wield the title.

The Yoda and Mace relationship continues to evolve as Dawn progresses, their relationship as leaders of the Order continues to expand.

I hope you continue to enjoy the story

Had to think about what you wrote.

Anakin has some challenges ahead of him in this story, and all of his secrets will be known, the question is will he overcome them.

I loved the update and the Jedi Council always have to suspect someone for disobeying the Order. Mostly it’s Anakin.

Thanks for the pm and I’m looking forward to more.

It is Anakin who always gets himself into trouble tongue

But with the twins on the way, I think it will mature him considerably:)

Coruscant Medical Facility

The private medical facility was chosen by Anakin and Padme because they guaranteed the identity of the parents could be kept completely confidential. Though Anakin now had the Council’s trust; he wondered how they would react if they learned he had secretly married and had children. Anakin did not want to lose what he had fought so hard to gain or the respectability of being apart of the Jedi Order.

But being a Jedi was not the most important thing on his mind right now, as his thoughts focused on the dream about his wife and demanded constant updates on how his wife was doing. The doctors did not fully understand his wishes and were to the point of irritation with his constant inquiries when something changed or when Padme appeared to be in great pain. How was he supposed to explain to them that he had a vision of her death during child birth, but the doctors kept repeating she was in “great shape” and that there were “no problems.”

Then something unexpected happened as he turned to the couple and exclaimed, “Wow it turns out you are carrying twins.”

“Twins?” Anakin replied in a stunned state.

Padme, however, was not excited to hear the news as she angrily shouted out, “I don’t care how many there, are I just want them out of me!”

“Oh, of course,” the doctor replied as he got back into his position and yelled for Padme to push. Padme cried out as she pushed with all her strength with the doctor yelling again for her to do so. She cried out as she could hear the doctor say, “First baby is out!” He handed the baby delicately to the floating droid assistant who quickly cleaned the baby up while administering all the proper shots. “It’s a boy,” the droid exclaimed as it handed the baby to Anakin who held the baby against his Jedi Master robe.

“Have you chosen a name?” The droid asked inquisitively while monitoring Anakin as he held the baby.

Anakin looked back at Padme who nodded in agreement with the name Anakin had wanted if it was a boy. “Luke.” He said as he held his son close to his chest, not believing the miracle of life he was blessed to have helped create. There was something else as he could feel how strong the force flowed through his infant son and that he instantly believed he was destined to become a powerful Jedi. Luke was an heir truly worthy to follow in his footsteps and Anakin could feel the potential that his son possessed. “Hello Luke.” He said lovingly holding his son close to his chest.

Padme cried out again in pain as the doctor once again was yelling for her to push and this baby seemed to come out much easier as the doctor stated loudly that he had the baby. Like before; he handed the baby to the droid whom quickly cleaned the baby and announced, “It is a girl.” Before Anakin had a chance to say anything Padme cried out, “Her name is Leia.”

The droid did not immediately record the name. It noticed the confused look on Anakin’s face as he obviously thought the name was going to be something else. Padme looked up at Anakin and exhaustedly assured him, “Our next child we can name after your mother.” Anakin smiled as he remembered how he wanted the name of his mother Shmi, but he had remembered how she wanted Leia because it had been a name of one of her relatives. Anakin looked back at the droid and stated, “Leia will be fine.”

He then looked upon his wife and she looked completely healthy, but had to ask, “How do you feel?”

Padme exhaustedly replied, “I feel fine, all things considering.”

Anakin looked back toward the doctor, who was well prepared to respond with the same positive news by saying, “I told you there was nothing to worry about. She is fine and is going to make a complete recovery.”

“Thank you doctor.” Anakin replied as he handed Luke down to Padme, who held him lovingly in her arms. Anakin took Leia from the droid and leaned down as close as he could to Padme holding his family together for the first time. Anakin was so relieved that his dream had not come true and that perhaps all along Palpatine had somehow warped his mind, knowing the story of how his mother died. This was everything he could have hoped for as he looked down upon his lovely wife.

“I love you so much.” He then leaned down and kissed her, but while doing so he felt a disturbance in the force. He turned in horror to see not only had Obi-Wan Kenobi entered the room but standing directly beside him, as if they had come into the room together, was the ghostly image of Palpatine. Dressed in the dark Sith robe he was laid to rest in; he looked upon Anakin and his family with an intense hatred that he had never seen before from the man he had long considered to be the closest thing he ever had to a father. Anakin turned to give Leia to Padme whom took both babies gingerly into her arms and whispered to Padme and when he turned around only the figure of Kenobi was left. Anakin got up now knowing that what he had saw before was no illusion and that somehow Palpatine had not merged with the force as all living beings were supposed to do when they died.

Obi-Wan noticed it too as he replied, “We need to talk.”

“Anakin!” Padme cried out as Leia began to cry as she held her.

“It is ok Padme, I just need to go talk with Obi-Wan.” He replied assuredly as he left Padme’s side and followed his former master outside the delivery room.

“So it is true then?” Obi-Wan asked Anakin while giving him a stern look that always seemed to get the truth out of him.

Anakin nodded his head as he could not hide the truth from his former master any longer.

“Well this will complicate things.” Obi-Wan said as he turned his back to his former student while holding his fingers up to his chin which he commonly did when trying to sort things out. “You know what the Jedi Council will do once they learn of this?”

Anakin approached his master and knelt down before him and submitted, “Master; I will accept the consequences of my actions. But please understand I love Padme and if I have to I will leave the Jedi Order for her.”

Obi-Wan gasped as for the first time since he had known Anakin, he no longer resembled the arrogant young boy who always seemed to leap headlong into trouble while refusing to accept any of the consequences for his actions. He had always questioned Anakin’s maturity and had used it frequently as a reason to slow down his development in the Jedi order. Through it all, however, he never wavered in his belief that Anakin could someday become the greatest Jedi the Order had ever known and his actions as of late more then provided him with enough proof of that.

“How long have you two been together?” Obi-Wan questioned wondering how committed he actually was to this relationship.

“We were married secretly after I escorted her home to Naboo after the Battle of Geonosis.”

Obi-Wan couldn’t believe it as they had been together for nearly three years and during that time no one, not even he, had suspected they had anything beyond friendship. He was honestly impressed with the effort they must have put forth to make such a relationship work, while at the same time personally sympathizing for what he risked in doing so.

“And how were you planning on keeping your family now a secret once they were born?”

“Padme was not going to seek anther term to serve in the senate and remain on Naboo with our family while I was to continue to serve the Jedi order.”

“Does Padme understand that for this to work, she will have to keep up this deception for possibly your entire lives? In addition, your children never being able to publicly admit that you are their father.”

“She does.” Anakin replied confidently.

“Very well, then I will see you back at the Jedi temple the day after tomorrow then.” Obi-Wan began to walk away down the corridor preparing the leave the facility, when the voice of Anakin nervously stopped him and asked, “What will you tell the Council when they ask what you found when you followed me.”

Obi-Wan turned around and with a smirk on his face replied, “You know me. I never did like to fly and get lost rather easily.” Obi-Wan then continued down the corridor and prepared to exit through the sliding doors of the medical facility.

“Obi-Wan wait.” Anakin called out to him as Obi-Wan stopped and turned back toward him. Anakin then nervously asked him, “Would you like to accompany me back into the delivery room to meet Luke and Leia.”

There was hesitation on Obi-Wan’s face as he was not sure if it would be appropriate for him to do so. Yet another part of him seemed to awaken as he genuinely did want to meet Anakin’s kids. Somehow; he felt his fate was entwined to them just as it had been to Anakin since becoming his teacher. “Yes Anakin, I think I would.”

Anakin smiled at Obi-Wan as he led him back into the delivery room, the presence of both of them walking back into the room together seemed to alleviate any fears Padme had for her husband as somehow she knew everything was alright. Within moments, Anakin picked up Luke from Padme and handed him to Obi-Wan who nervously held the newborn infant like a sack of potatoes.

Obi-Wan held the baby very delicately, as though he was afraid to drop the infant baby that looked up to him fully awake. Luke’s eyes fixated on Obi-Wan as though he was actually his father and not Anakin, who stood beside his former teacher like a proud father. “Meet your uncle Obi-Wan.” Anakin said softly to Luke who brought his thumb up to his mouth and began to suck on it while continue to stare at Kenobi.

“He likes you Obi-Wan.” Padme said exasperated as she held Leia in her arms as her lovely daughter seemed content to sleep while her mother stroked caressed her newborn daughter with her fingers.

The force was strong in both Luke and Leia, and both Jedi Masters could feel that Anakin had passed onto both of them his lineage of the force. Obi-Wan could feel the force flow through Luke as potently as it did his father and knew that both Anakin’s children would have the potential to become exceptional Jedi just like their father. Obi-Wan could not help but comment, “Though this may be your son Anakin, I believe he looks more like his mother.”

Padme laughed as Anakin replied sarcastically to Obi-Wan, “He may get his good looks from his mother, but I can already feel that he will be a lot like me.” He then grinned at Obi-Wan as he teased, “I foresee that he will be just as big of a pain in your side Obi-Wan as I ever was.”

Obi-Wan handed back Luke to his father who cradled the infant against his Jedi cloak. Obi-Wan smiled at Anakin as he replied eagerly, “One can only hope Anakin.”

Behind Obi-Wan’s smile and good intentions, there was something else within him that he felt. A great sense of relief filled him as he shared this moment with Anakin and Padme. Things had turned out alright after-all as they both had survived the Clone Wars and Anakin had made the right decision by helping Master Windu destroy Palpatine. It brought him to tears of joy as somehow he felt things could of turned out much different, far darker then the moment they were sharing now. He had been convinced that by the end of the Clone Wars, either himself or Anakin would be dead and that they both had come perilously close to meeting a gruesome end on many different occasions. It was a miracle they had survived with their friendship intact and brotherhood stronger then he could have conceived possible. It was truly a Dawn of a New Age as Anakin was now finally a man in his eyes and was destined for many great things within the Jedi Order. It brought feelings of pride and love to Obi-Wan’s heart to see the man that Anakin has become and that he would see Anakin become the Jedi he always envisioned he could be. All that stood in his way now was time.

Sidious is just being vengeful, creepy, and hateful.

Also wanted to set up his return in the first chapter of Dawn.
