Next installment.
20
Treachery is the way of the Sith.
Tired and dirty, she walked.
Ordinarily, Leia would be afraid of the unknown. Maybe she still was, even now. All that kept her cool and composed was the knowledge of her objective. She had to find Luke and make him pay for what he'd done to their parents. Had to make him pay for coercing her to join the dark side—even though she was still enamored of the power that it offered her. Was he so bad? No...
Yes.
She didn't know why she had to find him. She simply had to. In all likelihood they'd fight, and one of them would die. There was still a good distance separating them, and Leia had to show up with the strength to fight. Demoralization surrounded her, despair threatening to close in on her and shut her out from her goals.
Then she remembered that confidence was a remarkable thing before which obstacles became opportunities, and all difficulties ceased to exist. She had exhausted plenty of energy, and she had plenty left to spend.
She walked.
* * * * *
She was pretty cute.
That was all Han could think about. She was so graceful, so powerful, so fit and lithe and decidedly leonine. And she was downright dangerous. She could probably fry him with lightning or slice his head off in less time than it took him to imagine it. She was Padme's daughter. She was a spoiled diva. She was confused, emotionally and spiritually. Her life was in shambles, although her supreme confidence betrayed no such information. She was, by all accounts, completely out of his league.
And that only made her even more irresistible.
Color was coming back into her hair, a chocolate brown spreading over the streaks of gray that had been reduced to highlights. It was a good look for her. He didn't mind walking behind her, watching her hips sway a little with every step. Her legs, he noticed, went all the way up. They were long, slender yet strong, and oozing sensuality. Her slight frame still had curves in all the right places. And her bottom--
Leia wheeled on him. “Something on your mind, Captain Solo?”
Han immediately averted his eyes, clinging to the ludicrous hope that somehow she hadn't noticed he was checking her out. “I'm just, uh, impressed by your stamina. We've been walking for a long time now and I still have no idea where we're going.”
“Following the Force,” she said. “My brother isn't too far now. Maybe a few more hours' walk from here.”
As soon as she turned her back to him, Han wasted no time in tousling his hair, adjusting his vest and his grimy white shirt, and crossing his arms in front of his chest in an effort to make them look as muscular as possible. “But how do you know where to go? You only seem a little bit less lost than I am.”
She kept walking. “It's only a hint, a vague whisper or suggestion telling me to turn left instead of turning right. Just a feeling that you have to trust.”
“A feeling, huh? I know all about feelings.” He really didn't, of course. He had been in a handful of relationships over the years, but knew they were flings at best. Those days were long behind him now. At any other time he was extraordinarily guarded, masking his emotions under a veneer of sarcasm and machismo. But now, with her, he didn't seem to have any trouble opening himself up. “I wanted to thank you again for helping me out in the cantina. And I'm glad you came. I was...worried about you.”
“Don't go there, Captain.” She turned toward him. The young woman wasn't smiling. Her face was intense, and sexy. “I'm not looking for anything but revenge right now. You don't even know me.”
Han pursed his lips. “Maybe that's something I'd like to change.”
She shook her head. “Don't. It's not a good idea.”
Dejected and disappointed, Han stood and sighed as Leia continued walking ahead of him. “Enough,” he quietly said to himself, and with nowhere else to go, he stepped off after her.

Yeah. She was pretty much an emotional rollercoaster up to this point, and now because of Shyft's mind probing and insistence that Leia go after Luke, she's doing her best to shut her feelings down completely in order to focus on her mission. But don't worry, it'll turn around and bite her before too long.

Next installment.
21
With an adroit twist, the youth managed to slide his neck out of the dragon's bite. His hand becoming a vessel for the Force, Luke sent his fist hurtling into the dragon's mouth and smashing out the back of the beast's neck like a wrecking ball.
He stood, called his lightsaber back to his belt, and patted down his smoking clothes. Then he took a brief look around and gasped.
It could have been because he was distracted by fighting for his life or it could have simply been his failure to pay attention; for whatever reason, Luke found himself surrounded by gun-toting men in shabby-looking Ascendancy uniforms.
One man, ostensibly their leader, stepped forward with slow, deliberate grace. The man exhibited a slimy demeanor, oozing the suave charm that used speeder salesmen were known for. His hair was short and ruddy with prominent sideburns, a fashion that many of his cohorts seemed to share. He took his time walking, as though putting on a performance, and stopped only about thirty centimeters from Luke's face.
Young Skywalker's hand trembled nervously, itching to wrap around the lightsaber. But as tired as he was, and with all those blasters trained on him, along with the fact that these men had somehow gotten the drop on him, meant that Luke wasn't taking any chances. He kept his arms straight at his sides. “What is all this?”
“That's what I'd like to know,” the slimy man said. “It's so wonderful to finally meet you, Lord Pejorus. My name is Conan Antonio Motti. I'm in charge of this ragtag gang of loyalists.”
Luke took a look at the lot of them. “Loyalists?”
“Loyal servants to the Ascendancy. Sworn enemies of your Rebel Alliance.”
The Rebellion? It had slipped Luke's mind completely. He hadn't even begun to consider the ramifications of the Rebellion's leader changing his allegiance and abandoning the ways of the Sith. “The Rebellion is done as far as I'm concerned.”
“Far from it, Lord Pejorus. Or should I call you Lord Skywalker now? The Rebellion began with you. It'll end with you.”
Luke took a step back. “How do you know who I am?”
Motti grinned. “One doesn't spend a year as Potentate Shyft's accounting chief and security advisor without gaining access to certain information. Oh, yes. I know all about you. But there'll be time for talk later. Please, come with us. Unless, of course, you'd like me to send more of my pets after you.”
Baffled by this gang's very existence, Luke took another look around and assessed the situation, wondering if a fight was even feasible. Then he wondered if he should just obey Motti's wishes and figure things out as they came along.
A blaster bolt set for STUN helped Luke make up his mind.
* * * * *
Shyft winced as he used his razor-sharp fingernails to gouge out the rocks and gravel that had become embedded in his scaly flesh. Bleeding and groaning, Shyft couldn't help but wonder how silly he must have looked standing there naked. After all, his clothes were completely incinerated upon re-entry, and it just wouldn't do for him to be walking around in the nude.
Using the Force to will himself elsewhere, Shyft found himself on a modest farm some distance from where he had landed. There was a sparse bit of vegetation—not nearly enough for the cattle to subsist on—scattered near the trail to the farmer's house. Shyft expanded his sphere of responsibility as he walked, and every single animal withered into a dried husk, collapsed and died as he walked past it. The vegetation turned to dust in his wake.
He knocked on the door once. No response. He knocked again. Still nothing.
Losing his patience, Shyft destroyed the pathetic door with a fist and let himself inside. A middle-aged man stood there, took one look at Shyft, and dropped his steaming cup of stimcaf.
“I need clothing,” Shyft growled, black oil flowing from his mouth. Eyes gaping wide, the farmer turned and led Shyft to his bedroom.
Scanning the farmer's closet, Shyft selected the most garish outfit he could find—little more than a simple set of coveralls. “Thanks,” said Shyft as he stepped in closer to the farmer. “Sorry to trouble you like this. I only need one more thing from you.”
The farmer took a step back. “What else do you need?”
Shyft bared his fangs and smiled. “Your midi-chlorians.”

Well so much for the hope of Shyft ceasing to be, Luke is a bit of a problem at the moment it would seem.

That sent chills down my spine.
It would serve Shyft right to walk about completely naked...though I doubt the citizens would feel the same.
Great update
