	Title: Bunny Author: Star-Foozle Timeframe: PT-ish, somewhere before the Clone Wars. Characters: OCs (Coda Nikani and Sarama Baka, mostly.) Genre: One-shot, hopefully humor. Notes: This is for my very good friend DancesWithBlasters, because she's cool like that. Also, Sara Baka belongs to her. Enjoy! * * * “Agh! Get it off, get it off!” Coda Nikani danced around the Temple gardens frantically, attempting to dislodge the small, furry animal that was biting his hand. With one last desperate flail, he managed to knock the creature flying. It flew through the air for several meters before landing in a patch of shrubbery and bounding off with one last twitch of its fluffy tail. Coda collapsed onto a nearby bench, panting, and examined the injured digits. He’d been strolling along his favorite path, just minding his own business, when suddenly this thing had leaped up from the undergrowth and attacked him. Now he had a pair of nasty-looking puncture marks on the web of skin between his first finger and thumb. They didn’t hurt much, but he supposed he’d better have them treated to prevent an infection from setting in. With one last glare at the bushes where the creature had disappeared, he got up and set off for the Healer’s Wing. * * * “So, you have no idea what kind of animal did this?” Coda shook his head as the healer, a female Zabrak, finished cleaning the wounds. “I’ve never seen anything like it before,” the Knight replied. “It was about the size of a domestic feline, with white fur. It had pointed ears, I think, and a small round tail. And very sharp teeth.” The healer raised a brow. “Hmm. It doesn’t sound familiar. Whatever it was, it shouldn’t have been in the gardens.” She patted his hand. “I’ll run a search on it in the Archives later. For now, you’re free to go. Let me know if any unusual symptoms show up, alright?” Coda nodded obligingly and got up to leave. “Don’t worry; I’ll check back in with you if anything happens.” * * * Sara glanced up from her dinner, a concerned look on her face. “Master, are you okay?” Coda snapped back to attention, startled. “Oh, sorry, what was that, Sara? I…ah, was distracted.” The teenager frowned. “Are you feeling alright? You’ve been acting odd since this afternoon. You just seem a little out of it today.” Coda exhaled. “You’re right, Padawan. I haven’t been able to concentrate since I got bitten by that…thing, whatever it was.” He idly chased a piece of nerf steak around his plate with a fork. “I’m not too hungry, either.” “Maybe you should go back to the Healer’s, Master.” “I’m fine, Sarama. It’s probably just the antibiotics,” Coda said. Sara raised an eyebrow, but said nothing more. * * * Back at their quarters, Coda paced back and forth in front of the bookshelf. From across the room, Sara shot him a quizzical glance. “Um, Master? What are you doing?” The older Jedi paused. “Sara, do you have a blank datapad?” His student nodded, perplexed. “Of course. I use them for classwork all the time.” “Can I borrow one? I’ve got a funny urge to write something.” “Write something?” “Er, yes.” Sara blinked, and then went to her room to retrieve one. She handed it off to her Master, who immediately flopped down on the sofa, grabbed the stylus, and began scribbling away. “I’m going to bed,” said Sara. Coda glanced back up. “Goodnight, Padawan,” he replied absentmindedly, and went back to writing. * * * The next morning, Sara walked into the kitchen, and then stopped in shock. Coda was sitting at the kitchen table, empty caf cups strewn about him. He was wearing last night’s clothes, and looked thoroughly sleep-deprived. And he was still writing at a furious pace. “Master!” exclaimed the teenager. “Have you been doing this all night?” “Mmhmm,” the man mumbled. “Can’t talk now, Pad’wan. Busy.” “Master,” said Sara, “You aren’t acting right. You really should put down the datapad and get some sleep.” The Knight’s eyes glazed over. “No. Sleep’s for the weak. Have to finish this chapter first…” He shook his head blearily and continued working. “That’s it. I’m calling the Healers.” This time, Coda didn’t even respond. * * * “Well, the good news is, I figured out what’s wrong with him,” said the healer. Sara looked anxious. “What happened? It’s like he’s in some sort of weird trance!” “Actually, you’re not far off. The animal he got bitten by isn’t native to Coruscant, or anywhere else in the local systems. There’s a substance in its saliva that triggers a massive surge of creative impulses in the victim, effectively shutting them down to the rest of the galaxy until the symptoms pass. Once they do, he’ll be back to normal.” The healer paused. “I’m not sure why this one bit your Master, though. Usually they go after authors.” Sara shrugged. “Who knows? I’m glad that this is only temporary, though. What did you say the creature was called?” “Lepus museus,” said the healer. “Or in layman’s terms… the common plot bunny.” * * * -----signature----- Can't save the world without caffeine. 	OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! Yayayayayayayay!!!!!! I remember this! You showed it to me a while ago, and I laughed my butt off. It's just as wonderful a second time. And you know what else?
