Oh my gosh. I found this story last night and I just finished it. Your characterization is amazing, and your storytelling is beyond words. You have an amazing skill with the pen (or keyboard). Not only that, but you are one of the few fanfiction authors I've read who actually uses grammar. I am so joyed at your writing. Please add me to the PM list and more soon please.

Update everyone.
*****
Obi-Wan sat in the chair near Anakin's hover-bed. Padme had finally acquiesced to get some sleep, only after a very firm discussion with her husband.
"You're still a little red, Master," the tired form of his former Apprentice smiled.
"I-I am nothing of the sort."
"Oh, Obi-Wan. It's all right. You're family. Though I must say, the colour on your face almost matches your beard."
Obi-Wan almost wanted to snarl at the younger man. So the former Knight's wife had kissed him on the cheek. It was a friendly gesture. One that did make him somewhat uncomfortable, it was true, but he understood the place from where it was coming from. It was gratitude, though Obi-Wan knew he'd done nothing to bring his former Apprentice to the point where he was now -- conscious. Even Anakin knew where it was coming from, but the young man still taunted him over it.
The Jedi Master didn't know whether to throttle him, or smile at the return of the usual banter between them. After everything that happened ... Anakin laughed until Obi-Wan spoke again.
"And I was just going to ask the Healers to give you solid food again."
Anakin's laughter cut off, "Oh, come on now, Obi-Wan."
Obi-Wan shrugged his shoulders.
"Obi-Wan, come on. Have a heart -- they're making me eat the nutrient cubes. The red nutrient cubes."
"Well, at least they're not as red as my face, huh?"
"Oh come on, Obi-Wan! You've had the red nutrient cubes too. Don't you remember? They're gross," Anakin made a face that was very reminiscent of his nine year old Padawan self that made Obi-Wan chortle again.
"Oh all right. Only because I remember how bad they truly were. Although it could be worse. Master Yoda could be cooking for you."
Both made equally disgusted faces and laughed at each other. Then, Anakin's face settled into a very tired and serious expression. It almost took Obi-Wan totally aback.
"I wanted you, Obi-Wan to tell you a few things before I talk with Master Yoda and Master Windu about them. Also, I have a favour to ask of you too."
Obi-Wan looked at Anakin thoughtfully. There was a depth behind his voice that wasn't there before, and something ... older in his eyes.
"Is it about your vision, Anakin?"
Anakin looked reluctant at first to say anything, but then he nodded, "Yes. I think I'd better get that out of the way first."
Obi-Wan waited, knowing that the younger man would speak to him if he just gave him time. Anakin seemed to be choosing his words carefully. It was as though they were in the middle of the Clone Wars again and Anakin had his mental wall up, telling Obi-Wan what he thought he needed to know.
"My mom always said that I didn't have a father."
"Yes," Obi-Wan replied after a while, "Qui-Gon told me that was what she said."
Anakin nodded, "And one of the reasons why the Jedi thought I was the Chosen One."
"Well ... Anakin ... you are."
Anakin gave Obi-Wan a sad smile, "Yes. I know that now," he looked away, "But there was another Prophecy as well, Obi-Wan. There was another prophecy, and another tradition of knowledge out there," the younger man's face darkened, "and he dangled it right in front of my face."
"Are you ... are you talking about the Sith?"
"There was a being in Sith legend called the Sith'ari."
"Yes, the Jedi Archives has information on that. In our hunt to find Darth Sidious ..." Obi-Wan stopped.
"It was said to be a corruption of the idea of the Chosen One," Anakin turned to Obi-Wan, "No, I didn't look this up in the Archives," seeing Obi-Wan's puzzlement, he added, "I learned a lot of things when I was gone. And some of them are not the most pleasant. And the rest will be difficult to accept."
"Anakin, what do you mean?"
The former Knight sighed, "As someone I knew once asked me -- someone I thought I knew -- have you ever heard of Darth Plagueis the Wise?"
"... no," Obi-Wan looked pensive, "Beyond information about Darth Bane and his Apprentice, we don't have anything."
"Plagueis was Palpatine's Sith Master," Anakin continued, "He experimented with manipulating midichlorians to extend life, to preserve it ... Palpatine offered to share that knowledge with me to prevent my vision of Padme dying at childbirth."
"Anakin, I'm so ..."
Anakion looked up at him directly, "He also knew how to create life."
Obi-Wan's words died away. Anakin stared at the wall, and his jaw was clenched. His organic hand had wrapped itself into a shaking fist. There was a deep anger emanating from him, anger mixed with a layer of deeper shame.
"He created me, Obi-Wan," Anakin's voice shook, "Plagueis used the Force to create me."
Obi-Wan's face did not change expression. The shock was just too powerful. Could the Sith truly be capable of this? It was true. In the ancient past, they had engineered monstrosities and living weapons to fight in their wars. Once, there was even a legend that they had made sentient life forms. But a living fully developed human being? A powerful Force-sensitive? The Chosen One?
Anakin?
"It is no mistake, Obi-Wan," Anakin's tone was completely at a deadpan, "The Sith'ari was supposed to be a genetically perfect being that could break past all barriers -- self-imposed and otherwise. He was supposed to destroy the Jedi, and the Sith. He was supposed to be the most powerful Force-sensitive being to ever exist."
"Anakin, Palpatine must have lied --"
"No, Obi-Wan. He didn't lie about this. I saw it. I saw how the Muun Sith Lord created me. I saw him implant my essence into my Mom. I saw his death. I was supposed to replace Sidious as his Apprentice. But Sidious killed him first. And then, one day, two Jedi came onto a backwater desert world and found ..."
Obi-Wan put a hand on his shoulder, "But you didn't destroy the Jedi, Anakin. You saved us."
Anakin didn't say anything.
"And you killed the last Sith Lord. The Sith Order is gone. Whatever you saw, you are Anakin Skywalker. You saved us all."
"I was so close to turning."
The former Knight sighed, "I was so close to turning to the Dark to save my wife and children. I would have done anything. I'm still not sure why I didn't ... I mean it's still possible she might anyway," he shook his head, "but I couldn't do it. I knew I was being used, but I had no idea how far it went. But I was also made by the Force. And I did what I had to do. I did what I was made to do. It's funny, when you think about it. In that way, the clones and I are not that different. Neither of us were created naturally, and we did what we were made to do."
"... that might be true," Obi-Wan replied after a time, "You did have a mother."
"Yes," Anakin's face softened, "And now, they are being punished for having neither -- for being made by Sith to do something they have no control over."
"The Senate is still fighting over that, Anakin."
"And what are the Jedi's stance on the matter?"
"The Council is against the taking of life, but many elements on the Senate do not trust us after failing to find ..."
"To find the Sith Lord right in front of us," Anakin shook his head slightly, as though already knowing the answer even before this moment, "Obi-Wan. There are some more things I have to tell you before the senior Masters come in. And my request. If you're willing to hear it."
"Of course I am, Anakin."
"It won't be easy to hear."
"I am willing."
"I know, Obi-Wan," Anakin smiled up at him, "but this will be hard to hear. And it will be hard to do. For all of us."
And so, Anakin told Obi-Wan the rest of what he needed to say. Obi-Wan turned pale. Anakin's face was soft and open with sympathy. He caught Obi-Wan's arm and held onto it supportively. Then, slowly, after a while, Obi-Wan nodded. He got up and left the room. But before he left, he looked at Anakin and said something he meant to say for ages.
"You are my brother, Anakin. I love you. I always will."
"And I love you too, Obi-Wan."
Obi-Wan nodded, and then left the Healer's Ward. Anakin stared up at the ceiling. He still didn't tell Obi-Wan everything, but he told him enough. Enough to prepare him. He looked sad.
Maybe he had killed the Sith. But there was a good chance that he would still yet destroy the Jedi Order.
Destroy it ... or save it.
Either way, as painful as it was, he knew it had to be done. Anakin's eyes filled up with a great resolution.
He was, after all, the Chosen One.

So wow... I went back and read the whole thing after reading this post and the way they tie in... Just awe worthy. You have woven this together so well! The thing that I love is where you see the order fading away, (Edit: I think it might have been the movies, but why would they what looks like gas the clonetroopers) (where it talks about all these almost intermingled futures of the order), and that makes me wonder what just Anakin told to Obi. I'm on pins and needles! I hope you update soon, for our sanity sake.
