He eyed the slim, black-clothed figure in fascination, then with some surprise as she took off her helmet. Underneath the helmet was a beautiful woman. She was slim, obviously deadly, and beautiful: an arrangement Xizor loved. But who was she? He flicked off the recording and steepled his hands together. This was an interesting turn of events. He wanted to find this mysterious, dangerous woman. And he wanted her soon. But he would be patient. That was the way of the Falleen. Patience, cold calculation. He pressed the comm button and said, “Guri, get up here. I have a new assignment for you.” And I hate guessing, so I guess no Vader plushie for me! Yeah, a few of my stories, such as Conspiracy, are going to feature Xizor as one of the main characters. He's just such a rich character and makes a perfectly wonderful evil, sadistic bad guy! Shadows of the Empire is probably my favorite Star Wars novel. Well, you have "Vader" in your penname, so you get a plushie anyhoo! KELIA posted: Padme's heading to the Executor? Uh oh! 	Postie, people! Enjoy! Part I, Chapter IV Padmé’s ship came out of hyperspace, and she gasped at the sight of the enormous Star Destroyer. It was ten times larger than she had ever imagined, and it probably had enough power to destroy half a planet. A fleet of smaller Destroyers was flanking the Super-class. Padmé sighed, put up her mental shields (another lesson from Obi-Wan), and piloted her ship up to the Executor. A crackling on her end of the comm. told her that they were making contact with her ship. “Unknown ship, please identify yourself,” a male voice spoke up. “This is the Starhunter, requesting permission to come aboard,” Padmé responded in her bounty hunter tone, “I’m a bounty hunter, asked by Lord Vader to search out the Millennium Falcon.” There was a pause on the other end, and she knew they were making sure she wasn’t a threat. After a few seconds, the other line answered. “Starhunter, you have permission to come aboard. Commence to docking bay number 115.” Padmé ended the link and zoomed into the bay, where a bunch of stormtroopers were walking around, doing various jobs. She landed the ship and opened the hatch, hopping out. Geenine beeped. “Stay with the ship,” Padmé ordered, and turned to see a younger officer striding towards her, appearing nervous. She suspected it was one of his first important jobs. “You must be Ash Shadya,” he said, clearing his throat, “I have orders to bring you to the command bridge. Lord Vader will tell you the details there.” Padmé couldn’t help but feel sorry for him; but she really couldn’t feel any remorse or she’d blow her cover. “Good. Take me there,” she replied abruptly, and waited for him to lead the way. The officer nodded, straightened his collar, and went out of the bay, she following close behind. They entered a turbolift and sped up to the highest floor, where they got out and walked to the main bridge. Padmé’s heart began to beat twice its normal rate as she came to the bridge. There were many large windows in a curved shape, two officer stations on a lower part of the deck, and other various centers. An ominous breathing came up behind her. She didn’t turn around but headed straight over to where the other bounty hunters had gathered in the back control area of the bridge, and stood close to them. She then turned to see Vader heading towards the group. “Bounty hunters,” she vaguely heard an officer mutter, “We don’t need their scum. Those Rebels won’t escape us.” Padmé inwardly sighed. Zuckuss and Dengar had already arrived among a few others, but made no notice that they recognized Padmé. There was a droid bounty hunter, a few she didn’t recognize, and the infamous Boba Fett. From what she had learned from Obi-Wan a while back, he was actually a clone, and the ‘son’ of deceased Jango Fett. Wonder if he knows that his father tried to kill me, she mused thoughtfully, staring at the worn and hauntingly familiar garb of Boba Fett. As if sensing eyes upon him, his helmet slowly turned to stare at her. She didn’t back down or break her gaze from him, and it appeared that he respected her gall. He slowly nodded in her direction, and in turn, she nodded back, inwardly smirking. Padmé began to strengthen her mental shields for the arrival of Vader, but was caught off guard when the man himself strode purposefully up to the group, who had lined up respectfully in front of him. Padmé straightened up immediately and stiffened when Vader began to speak. “There will be a substantial reward for the one who finds the Millennium Falcon,” he boomed, slowly passing by each of them. “You are free to use any methods necessary, but I want them alive,” he stopped at Boba Fett and shook a black, gloved finger at him. “No disintegrations.” No chance of that, Padmé thought dryly. As if I’d kill my own daughter. “As you wish,” Fett replied. Vader moved back across the line and began to head her way. His helmet swiveled towards her direction; but it wasn’t until he appeared to be walking right for her when she started getting apprehensive. Oh Force! Stay calm, girl, stay calm, Padmé mentally chanted, becoming alarmed. Vader paused in front of her. Blasted Sith! He was silent for a second, save for his breathing. “You - bounty hunter. I do not recall meeting you before.” Breathe, Padmé… he doesn’t suspect anything… “The name’s Shadya, my lord. Ash Shadya.” She hoped he didn’t recognize her voice, however disguised it was. Just as she thought all hope was lost, he began to turn back down the line again, seemingly satisfied. Padmé let out a breath. He didn’t know. Thank the Force. Now all she had to do was find Ozzel and get out of there before Vader realized she was alive. The bounty hunters began to break up as Vader returned to his officers and starting to bark out orders at them. One of the superior officers hurried up to Vader and declared, “My lord, we have them!” Padmé’s heart nearly stopped beating at that announcement, and she took a few steps closer, trying to hear their conversation. “Good. See that they are detained. I want them alive, Admiral.” The Admiral nodded and rushed off to order his men. Padmé, lost in thought, suddenly realized that she was being watched. She looked up to see Vader observing her. Fearing that she might be discovered, she quickly headed back to her ship. Vader did not follow. Once in space, Padmé saw the other Star Destroyer off to a distance and a tiny ship swerving and diving around it. That’s it! Padmé inwardly shouted. That’s the Millennium Falcon! But when she noticed that they were barely hanging onto their lives because of the damage their ship had obviously sustained, her spirits dropped. She bit her lip, wondering what to do. Should I risk it? Or should I see if they can handle it on their own? Still, one small freighter to a giant Star Destroyer… She said to Geenine, “Geenine, shields up at full,” and pushed on her ship’s controls full throttle. It mere seconds, they were racing full-speed towards the other Star Destroyer. What are you doing? Geenine screamed. Padmé didn’t reply, but if the droid had seen the hard, steely determined look on her face, she wouldn't have even had to ask. The previous Senator and Royal Queen of Naboo was gone. Padme Naberrie Amidala Skywalker no longer existed. For now, only Ash Shadya, ruthless bounty hunter and Queen of Vengance, remained. And she would get even. 	Wow, this is really interesting! I can see Padme becoming a bounty hunter-- and a ruthless one at that. I can't wait to see what will happen. I've always enjoyed fics with Padme still alive after ROTS, and this is the best situation I've seen yet. I wonder though, will she end up revealing her true identity to anyone later on in the story? If you have a PM list, please let me know! --P.S. 	I went to your website and saw the image of Padme. I think the new look suits her better. She's always been strong and deadly, now she just looks the part. The red headded Corellian. Well, one thing that always made me upset in the third movie was that Padme would just die... for a pretty stupid reason, too. I mean, the Padme we know and love would do anything she could to save and help her children and get her husband back. She'd do anything to survive (within reason). She wouldn't just up and die of a broken heart. That was a big character mistake for Lucas. But I know, he had to make her die somehow. Yes, the title is. I think the song just went perfectly with the fic, but I had a lot of trouble deciding on a right title. On FF. net, it's "Going Under." On Fanlib, it's "If I Never Knew You." I saw it and I was like, "Wow, that just really shows what Padme could become. She as tough as nails and super strong, both emotionally and physically. She could serious kick some butt." 	Part I, Chapter V On the bridge of the Avenger, Captain Needa stared, astonished, as the Millennium Falcon sharply turned around and started to fly towards them. “They’re moving into attack position!” he exclaimed. He turned quickly to tech and said briskly, “Shields up!” The small freighter zoomed towards the bridge, zoomed past, causing the men to duck instinctively, and disappear. “Track them!” Needa barked, “They may come around for another pass!” “Sir!” an officer called out, “there’s another ship appearing on our scopes!” Needa frowned, turned back to the window. His surprise doubled when he beheld a sleek black starfighter speeding at maximum towards the Avenger. “Who is that?” He snapped. “It’s an unidentifiable craft, sir,” a junior officer informed him, “we can’t tell who it is sir, but they’re picking up speed and charging weapons!” Needa glared at the fast approaching ship. “Fire on them at will!” he hissed, “and make sure to track the Rebel ship as well!” “Right away, sir!” Needa watched with anticipation as the dark ship screamed towards them and suddenly released from its hull two… Oh. No. “Seismic charges!” Needa roared, “brace for impact!” The entire bridge crew speedily grabbed onto something to hold, and Needa threw himself against the wall. He was abruptly hurled across the bridge as the entire ship shuddered violently from the horrifying impact as the charges did their damage to the Avenger. After a few sickening moments, Needa rose to his feet shakily, trying to collect his wits. “Report!” “Sir, we’ve sustained heavy damage,” a tech reported, “we’ve lost our weapons, our shields are malfunctioning, and life support is out on two decks in section C 29. We also have multiple hull breaches in that same section.” “Blast!” Needa growled. “Lieutenant Hunore!” He strode over to the young lieutenant. “Make sure that other ship doesn’t get away. Send a squadron of fighters out to meet it, immediately! I want that ship captured!” Hunore nodded and quickly hurried off. “Sir,” a tech said, “the Millennium Falcon no longer appears on any of our scopes!” Needa frowned. “They can’t have disappeared. No ship that small has a cloaking device!” “Captain, Lord Vader demands an update,” a junior officer called out. Captain Needa exchanged glances with the elder Commander Daggard standing beside him. “Continue with your scans of the area,” he ordered, “and I, on the other hand, will assume full responsibility for losing the Rebels and apologize to Lord Vader. Get a shuttle ready.” Padmé swerved her ship to avoid the suddenly oncoming Tie fighters and pulled up sharply, then turning into a steep dive as she raced under the belly of the Executor. The Tie fighters screamed after her, firing in a random pattern and surrounded her ship as she tried to outmaneuver them. “Geenine, reverse thrusters on my mark,” she ordered, coming around the Star Destroyer once more. “Now!” She held on tight to her controls as her ship abruptly spun backward at an incredibly fast pace, whisking past the other surprised Tie fighters. For the first few seconds as she was spinning around, it seemed to be working. But when the ship began to pick up speed, she noticed that they were heading back towards the Executor at an alarmingly increasing pace. “Geenine, level us out, level us out!” Padmé shouted, frantically trying to stop them from flying back into the Executor’s hangars. But it was too late. Geenine could not pull them out of the spin fast enough, and they were hurled into one of the hangar bays, skidding on the floor until they crashed into a wall. Padmé let out the breath she had unknowingly been holding and pulled off her two straps that held her securely in place. She saw a squadron of stormtroopers running right for her, and she slammed her fist into the side of her ship, cursing her own bad luck. One of the stormtroopers pulled of the hatch and pointed his blaster at her. “Come on, get out!” he barked. “Let’s go!” “No.” Padmé was inwardly surprised by her own strong will. One of the troopers set the blaster from ‘stun’ to ‘kill’. “Come or I will shoot.” “So shoot.” The trooper glanced at an officer who had come up beside him. The officer stared down at her coldly, brandishing his own blaster. Before she could even blink, he had brought the butt of his gun upward and slammed it down on her helmet, causing her to slump in her seat. “Idiot!” another officer shouted. “You weren’t supposed to cause any injury!” “What else was I supposed to do?” the first officer growled, hauling a dazed Padmé to her feet. “It was the only way. Come on, let’s go. She’ll be conscious enough.” The stormtrooper took Padmé’s other arm and dragged her along with the first officer. Padmé concentrated on her breathing – that last hit to her head might have been internally damaging. She honestly didn’t care where they brought her anymore. She would most likely be tortured, and since she wouldn’t reveal anything, she would be executed. By her husband. Did anything really matter anymore? She lost all her sense of direction as she was shoved and pushed, hands now cuffed together in front of her, through the seemingly endless corridors of the Executor. She finally managed to collect herself and stand upright as they brought her up to the command bridge, where she saw Vader standing in front of an officer, who was holding his neck. Padmé took in a sharp breath as she saw Vader’s hand reached out, an invisible death grip locked around the officer’s throat. The officer fell to his knees, looked up to see the world one more time, and keeled over, dead. Padmé’s heart chilled in dread and painful memories, and his cold voice said, “Apology accepted, Captain Needa.” He then waved for a few aides to remove the body. His helmet suddenly turned to hers, and he took a few steps towards her. There was a pause. “Why did you help the Rebels escape, bounty hunter?” he demanded. Even with the helmet on, she could still read his emotions. She knew he was furious. “Because I had to,” she stated simply. “Why?” Vader snarled. “You had direct orders to apprehend them – instead you decide to destroy one of my ships and allow them to escape!” His hand was beginning to come up, she noticed, swallowing. “I could not let you take them prisoner,” she explained, “I did what I had to do to protect them.” “You are unwise to challenge me,” he hissed. Padmé knew she would eventually be exposed, so why not just get it over with? She reached up, pulled the helmet off her head, saying, “Maybe I am.” Her dark eyes bore into his mask, matching it with her own. “But that doesn’t mean I won’t.” Darth Vader’s breathing stopped. -----signature----- " 'Do you believe in God?' written on the bullet/ Say 'yes' to pull the trigger / And I will pull the trigger!"
