I still had not met the little darlings I would be molding into gentle, productive, and noble adults. I could almost see myself standing proudly in the crowd, almost a member of the family, watching them on the day they graduated from Academy, on their wedding days… They would look over and wave at me fondly, and later on they would embrace me and tell me that I had made an impact on their lives and they’d never, ever forget me. I would cry a little bit, and so would they. Then we’d hug again.
As you can see, I was obviously delusional.
lol, yes, she was  this is simply hilarious! Poor girl doesn't know what she's gotten herself into.

I stretched out on the bed and stared up at the ceiling, wondering when I’d get to meet the children. I got a little drowsy and so I closed my eyes. I should have remembered that you never give the enemy a chance to launch a sneak attack.
I wonder what surprise will be waiting for her when she awakens.

Yet another gem of a story from you!!
Nannies and teachers share that same naive outlook before they get into the real world. They will have quiet, orderly classrooms/homes where the little darlings learn so much from you. I think it's rather the other way around, they sure teach us a thing or two!!! 
Gina, I feel for you!
Now I play with computers and numbers, much more orderly!

I, for one, do not think the problem was that the band was down.I think that the problem may have been
