Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars.

Okay, so I am really, really unsure if anyone will like this. I have been unsure if I should post it at all. It's an AU story, where Skoloc Celchu, the little brother of Tycho Celchu survives Alderaan....There is really not known much about this character, other than that he's born 11 BBY, so don't ask me how I got the crazy idea of writing a whole story about him. Well, but I did anyway...so, if someone likes it, please, please review!! I would be very grateful for support. - Abeja happy

Hush, my little one,
The stars are up in the sky,
Starships are flying on by.

Da-da, da-da
Da-da-do, da-da

Hush, my little one,
Grandpa’s telling stories of times past,
When the ships had sails and mast,

Da-da, da-da
Da-da-do, da-da

Hush, my little one,
Grandma loves her little boy,
Gifts him with a wooden toy.

Da-da, da-da
Da-da-do, da-da

Hush, my little one,
Papa’s locking the front door soon,
Always humming that same old tune.

Da-da, da-da
Da-da-do, da-da

Hush, my little one,
Mama’s holding you in her arms,
Keeping you away from life’s harms.

Da-da, da-da
Da-da-do, da-da

Hush, my little one,
The moon has risen high,
The sun tells you good-bye

Da-da, da-da
Da-da-do, da-da

Part 1: The Empire

Chapter one

Alderaan, 0 BBY

„You’re really such a coward , Skol! You won’t go.”
“I will!” he shouted back, feeling his anger rising.
Rian laughed and Tryan yelled: “I guarantee you, Rian, he won’t! He’s too much of a baby to do something like that.”
He was furious. “Well then, watch me!”
Turning around, he was intimidated by the huge ramp, which led to the ship’s belly.
Hesitating, he paused. “Told you he wouldn’t!”
Skoloc made up his mind. He ran the ramp up and stood in the entrance.
“See. I told you!”
“Everyone can go till there. That’s not very brave.Go three metres farther!”
Well, three metres were really no big deal. He stopped walking, when he heard Rian cry out. “Skoloc! Skoloc! Come back! The ship is departing! Quick!”
Shocked, he stared at the huge ramp, which was gently rising upwards.
“Quick!” He ran, fell and picked himself up again.
But too late! The ramp closed with a soft hiss and Skoloc felt a hard jerk, when the repulsorlifts kicked in.
Horror-struck, he ran to a window.
Rian and Tryan gazed up to him, their faces pale.

Rian shouted something, but Skoloc couldn’t understand a word of what he had said.
His palms started to sweat, when he noticed, that they were almost out of the spaceport.
Suddenly, a jumbled memory of his brother Tycho’s departure to the Imperial Academy three years ago here at this spaceport came back to him.
He had been a young boy with 8 years at the time, so he didn’t remember as much as he’d like to. Just that Mum had been sad and that Mia had cried.
He had just stared confused at his brother, not really knowing where he was about to depart to and when he would return.
But- with his thoughts abruptly flying back to the miserable situation he found himself in, he gazed panic-stricken out of the window again.
Why did he have to be so eager to prove himself?
The ship had looked dubious to him ever since he had first laid eyes on it- his brother Tycho had taught him a lot about spaceships- and this was most certainly not an Imperial ship, neither was it one of another legal organisation.
A gentle tremor went through the ship again- they were just leaving the atmosphere of Alderaan.
Skoloc started to tremble and hugged his arms close to his body.
Alderaan was beautiful from up here- so green and blue and lush and pretty.

Skoloc felt his lower lip starting to tremble. What if he could never return?
He had no credits with him- what if he saw Mum and Dad never again? He had heard of kids who had been playing on foreign space ships- no one had ever seen them again.
Today was Tycho’s birthday and he was supposed to be at the Holostation now, congratulating the brother to his twenty-first birthday, along with the rest of the family.
They’d be mad at him. Skoloc gulped.
Don’t panic now. Stay calm. Stay calm.
Panicked shouts of the crew from somewhere upstairs, drew his attention again to the present.
Something ice-cold settled in the boy’s stomach.
Sniffling and on wobbly legs, he stood up and walked again to the little window.
He had to stand on his toes to look through it, but once he had managed to grab the window sill, he pressed his nose against the window and stared outside in the deep black space.
A grey huge something, which reminded him of a ball or a planet had appeared.
Skoloc saw tiny lights glimmer on it. A space station!
Wow! Forgetting his own grief for a second, he stared at it open-mouthed.
Just how big of a space station is this?
Ha, I bet, Tycho has never seen something like that. I’ll be the first one to tell him and Mia, and Mum and Dad.
But what is that strange green shimmer now? It’s beautiful!

Green beams had started to appear, but before Skoloc could be sure of their existence , the stars outside started to turn into lines.
However, before they managed to depart, Skoloc felt rather than saw the great explosion rock through him and the ship.
He fell to the ground, amidst some boxes and he knew no more.
And so, the spaceship Wild Swan had managed to escape from the Alderaan system into the relative safety of hyperspace, while just three seconds after they had left, all hell broke loose.
The crew members still sat there, looking shaken at their instrument panels, while in their cargo hold a little boy named Skoloc Celchu, who had just lost his home world, was lying knocked-out on the floor.
Thousands of klicks away, on the Imperial Star Destroyer Accuser, Tycho Celchu stared confused at the dark screen in front of him.
What on Alderaan has just happened to the connection?

Oh, Wow! You've done it again! This is a great "what if" premise. Can't wait to read more of Skoloc's story. You have taken an obscure character and you're breathing life into him.

I'm in awe at your imagination.

Please add me to your PM list.

Chapter two

It was dark. He was cold.
Feeling little tremors race down his spine, he opened his eyes and found that he was lying on the floor. Suddenly it all came back to him.
The ship, Rian, Tryan, the huge space station, the strange green beams, the panicked shouts…
He drew in a shaky breath and stood up.
What had happened?
Not sure of what to do, he tried to stop trembling and wondered why he had never noticed how cold it was in spaceships.
The pointless thought kept him from thinking about other, much more significant things, but he knew he couldn’t keep that up for a long time.
It was a self-preservation act, one that made him forget for a little while.

Stop it now!

Skoloc heard his inner voice snap at him. “I will” he said quietly, hearing how his voice echoed in the cargo hold. “I will.”
He was maybe only eleven years old, but he wasn’t dumb.
Something had happened back there, when they had made the jump to Hyperspace, he just didn’t know what it had been.
But the thought of “it” made him get an ice-cold lump in his throat and he hoped that his intuition wasn’t telling him the truth this time.
Something bad has happened.
However, since he couldn’t think of a way to get the information about what had happened right now, he decided to think about getting home again.

He would have to go to the nearest official building at their destination. His father was an important member of the Novacom company, a fact that hadn’t concerned Skoloc until now very much, but now he found himself thinking about the facts he knew. Novacom. One of the largest Holonetoperators in the whole known galaxy.
Built up in only two years by the Alderaanians Sment Sander and Patrick Celchu, my father.

Skoloc smiled and absentmindedly thought of his father, who could often be found sitting behind his huge oak desk, looking through important documents.
However, when Skoloc entered, these bright blue eyes would smile at him- father had almost always time for his children, no matter how stressful his work was.

Skoloc wrapped his arms around his torso and tried to make himself as comfortable as he was able to on some huge crates.
Then the tears came and he quietly sniffled in his sleeves.
Long, long minutes later, with red eyes and hiccoughs threatening to escape ever now and then, Skoloc simply sat there and stared at the grey wall without really seeing it.
Mum! Daddy! Please, come and fetch me! I am afraid here.
I will even help Mumma with the laundry for the next weeks- every time, I promise.
Just get me out of here! Tycho. Please!

Hours later he was slowly starting to feel like a caged animal.
"I am Skoloc Celchu, a son of Alderaan," he said, hearing the words echo in the large, almost empty cargo hold.
Hearing the words echoing made him desperate and angry. "Skoloc Celchu!" he screamed again, just to hear his voice.
But there was nothing. Just the echo and his frantic breaths. And then not even the echo anymore.
Perhaps no one will find me down here.
A few lone tears ran again down his pale cheeks, wetting his collar and his neck.
Surely his Dad would come and fetch him wherever he ended up, wouldn’t he?
Yes, he will.
He didn’t think, that he wouldn’t be able to get home again- some of the officials would most surely be willing to help him get a transport home- even if it wasn’t made out of the goodness of their hearts, they would most certainly do so, if they heard that he was the son of a wealthy Alderaanian. An Alderaanian who would surely reward them, when they helped getting his youngest son home safely.
Skoloc snorted softly and watched goose bumps develop on his pale arm.
Tycho had once told him of the ways of the people “they’re greedy and you can’t trust most of them” and Skoloc believed his elder brother.
Tycho was smart and knew a lot about life in general, Skoloc thought.

Even if his signing up at the Imperial Academy had made Mother and Father sad.
Skoloc almost laughed, when he suddenly saw the bright side of the recent happenings.
He wouldn’t have to listen to his teacher’s ramblings for perhaps almost a whole week!
Like almost every school child would be, he was glad about that.
Luckily for Skoloc, the journey through Hyperspace was brief, since the ship’s next stop wasn’t far away from the Alderaan system.
A spidery little animal was hanging on a silvery thread somewhere above the boy’s head, watching him fall asleep.
“Yes, poor little one, sleep now. Sleep and forget, for the trouble will soon come back to greet you. Sleep, little boy. Don’t you worry about life, it’ll soon rear its ugly head again. Sleep.”

Chapter three

Skoloc woke up, when he heard harsh, rough voices outside, which got gradually louder.
He quickly sprang up, shook his head to clear it and peered out of his little observation window.
They had landed- and he hadn’t noticed.
Two persons were walking towards the ship- a man with a large dark beard and creepy pale green eyes. Skoloc swallowed, then eyed the other man.
He was small, almost petite and had his black hair cut to his shoulders.
His skin was of a brown colour and a golden earring gleamed in the morning sun.
Skoloc felt his hands starting to get sweaty.
Mummy, Daddy…What do I do now?

The door hissed open with a soft sound and the ramp slowly lowered itself to the ground.
Skoloc balled his fists. Now or never!
With a battle cry, that would have made the deafest bantha on Tatooine run away in fright, Skoloc jumped down the ramp, fell on the floor, dusted himself off and ran away.
One of the men, the petite one almost managed to get him, but then he suddenly grimaced, screamed and held his leg. Skoloc only saw the shadow of a little spidery thing, that was running away and he wondered, why it/he/she had helped him. But then his survival instincts kicked in again.
“Hey you-boy! Get back here!”
Skoloc ran and ran, his body heaving with deep, hectic breaths, even when he started to notice his surroundings.
He was on a hectic, with activity buzzing space port, with so much traffic, that Skoloc stood there and just stared for a minute.

People wherever he looked. Undefinable creatures with long brown robes.
An old Lady with her excited little granddaughter, a child with so bright pink clothes, that Skoloc felt himself get all queasy, especially when she bounced up and down.
Some green-skinned Non-humans from a species, Skoloc couldn’t place stood whispering in a corner. Foreign-looking merchants debated heatedly about the price for some medical supplies. Two large, roaring Wookiees dragged a protesting human behind them and some Stormtroopers followed them, weapons at the ready.
Many people looked away, when the black, helmeted gaze of the troopers fell on them and Skoloc tried his best not to look in their direction.
They looked menacing and intimidating, probably the impression they wanted to provide and Skoloc didn’t want to get on their bad side.
His family wasn’t exactly critical of the Empire, but not exactly thrilled by it either.
Skoloc didn’t know what to think of it himself.
He was still young and spent his days rather with playing, than thinking about such grown-up stuff.
But if father is wary of those Stormies, I will be too.

An insect-like alien looked curiously to the little boy, who stood there and watched his surroundings, bright blue eyes wide open in wonder.
Skoloc was startled, when he saw the large facet-eyes watch his every move.
He wanted to run away, but something about the being made him stay and watch its approach.
“Hello,“it whispered in a guttural and odd-sounding basic.
“Hello,“Skoloc looked at the non-human more closely now.
It had those blue and black-shimmering eyes, framed by long lashes, which were almost as long as Skoloc’s thumb.
He figured “it” was a “she”.
She had a long and thin body, which glimmered gold and brown in the morning sun and she had two pairs of black arms and almost human hands at their ends, which were well-cared for.
Her body reminded him of a dragonfly.
The nails were adorned with red nail-polish and on her wrists were each two tight golden bracelets. Her feet were hidden in dark, coarse shoes, and the legs were as thin and black as the arms.
She was wearing a dark red dress-like fabric and, although she was very long and thin, she wasn’t much taller than Skoloc, who was about 150 centimetres tall.
“Are yo finished with staring now, my boy? “ The throaty voice again.
“I am sorry- I didn’t mean to-,“Skoloc stammered and backed away.
“It’s okay,” she smiled and opened two rows of razor-sharp teeth.
“I am a Sandrim and my name is Seelia.”
Skoloc tried to smile. “ My name is Skoloc and I am a human.”
“Well obviously,“she clicked, sounding a bit harsher again.
“So where is it that yo are going, little human? Yo look a little lost.”
Don’t reveal too much. Skoloc took a deep breath.
“I am looking for an official building.”
“Oh-yo are probably looking for the local Imperial base.”
“Yeah.” Skoloc tried to sound convincing.
“Well, normally I don’t help strangers , but since yo’re only an ehlep, I will guide yo.”
“Ehlep?” Skoloc asked and tried to keep up with her long strides.
“Yong ones” Seelia explained, practically dragging him with her.
They had arrrived in front of a large grey building.
“Well, here we are,“the Sandrim clicked.
“Thanks.”
“No problem. I hope yo’ll get home soon again.”
She left , leaving Skoloc to stare after her in wonder. How could she have known…?
He sneezed when dust from the street came into his nose.
This planet was impossibly hot and dry. Skoloc hated it.
He saw two insect-like beings, similar-looking to the Sandrim Seelia look at him now and then and click quietly among themselves.
He took a deep breath, feeling distinctly uncomfortable, and pushed the button with the inscription ENTER.

Chapter four

The door slid open mechanically and Skoloc entered.
A big hall with a cold, hard look greeted him.
The walls were obviously made of stone and little windows provided the only light source, apart from the standard blue lights, that could be found in every Imperial base.
His feet left barely an imprint in the blood red carpet, when he started to walk towards the counters.

Muffled conversations could be heard from another corner of the room.
This hall had been made to intimidate people, to make them run away, instead of coming nearer, and that was exactly the way Skoloc felt.
He was aware of the conversations stopping, whenever he came nearer and he shuddered, but he kept his gaze firmly on the carpet, not looking up once.
It felt like a lifetime, until he finally arrived at the counter.

An Imperial with a short haircut and hazel eyes, as well as a strict air about him, greeted him with a curt nod.
A middle-aged woman with curly, blond hair under her standard Imperial grey cap and clothed in the standard grey uniform stood next to him, impassive grey eyes scrutinising the boy. Skoloc saw her rang insignia.
A Lieutenant. At least that was, what Tycho had told him.
He had shown Skoloc a book with many insignias once.

“Look. When I am out of the Academy, I will still be Flight officer.
And if I am good, I will perhaps once get promoted to Lieutenant” he showed him a particular insignia “you see that?”
“You sure will,Tych.”
He gazed up in the eyes of his big brother, trusting him with his whole heart in that moment.
“Why are you so sure of that, Skol?”
“Cause you’re the best. And if that’s nothing, you’re my elder brother, and that is enough.”
“You little rascal.” Tycho tickled him, then pulled him close.
“I love you, little bro’.”
“Love you too, big bro’.”

“You want something, young man?”
The voice was sharp, harsh and befitting to the Imperial.
“Yes, sir. I wanted to ask- I-I…”
“Well, spit it out, laddie.” The woman, now. She didn’t seem to be as harsh as the man.
“I wanted to ask- you see, I got lost, and I want to get home- and-“
“What makes you think we, the representatives of the Empire, would help a little boy, only because he was inattentive and managed to get lost?”
Skoloc was nearly panicking by that point.
What had Mia told him?

“The officials like it, if you butter them up a bit.”
“Butter? Like the one to eat?”
“Don’t be stupid, Skol. Only figuratively speaking, of course.”
“Figu-what?”
Mia had laughed and ruffled his hair. “Sorry, Skol. Inattentive sister, that I am.
I should know, that you don’t know all these terms yet.
I wanted to say, that, if you want to please someone with more power than you, when you are in a hopeless situation, you can influence them with using friendly and polite words.”

He had still not understood everything, but he figured, that she meant, he should be nice to the grey-clothed men and they would be nice to him.
“Sir, my Papa always tells me, that the Empire is great and big and it helps everyone, who has problems, and since I have a problem, I came to you, because you looked so kind too…”
He added quietly, since he wasn’t sure, if it would help:
“My father will be very grateful for your help. He-he owns a holonet company.”
The sharp lines around the Imperial’s eyes had softened a bit and he looked friendlier.
Skoloc didn’t know if he looked friendlier because of the hidden message in his words, if he was as greedy as the other people, that Tycho had talked about, or if he really was flattered by Skoloc’s polite words.
The woman was openly smiling and she whispered something to the Imperial, who considered her words shortly, then turned to Skoloc.

“We usually don’t do something like this, but…because you’re such a well-mannered young man, we shall make an exception.”
His eyes hardened abruptly again. “However, this is an exception. Remember that.”
“Yes, of course, sir.”
“So…how did you arrive here?”
Skoloc hesitated.

“Well?” prompted the woman.
“I came on a ship.”
The man behind the counter raised his eyebrows and his long, narrow face stretched.
“No withholding information from the authorities, child. That you came on a spaceship is to be expected.”
Skoloc hesitated once more. “It was not an Imperial ship. We were playing- and the ship departed suddenly.”
“Were you in there unauthorised?”
Skoloc squirmed, but finally decided that answering was better for him.

“Yes, sir. I was playing with some friends an’ they dared me to go in the ship’s cargo hold.”
“What kind of ship was this?”
“I-I don’t know, sir. I don’t think, it was an Imperial ship. It looked strange.”
The woman raised an eyebrow. “Strange?”
“The people looked not so nice, Madam.”
The woman frowned and her face got harder. “Which landing platform did the ship arrive at?”
“I dunno, Ma’am.”

He was asked to describe the platform and after he had finished, the woman scowled.
A moment of silence passed.
“Uh…not wanting to be disrespectful, sir, Ma’am, but what will you do to the people?`”
The Imperial smiled, but Skoloc didn’t think, that it was a nice smile.
“We will merely ask them some polite questions. Are you satisfied with that answer?”
“Yes, sir.” Skoloc wasn’t, but he was afraid to ask again.

The man said nothing, but he frowned.
The woman started to speak again. “Your name.”
“Skoloc Celchu, Madam. I am eleven years old.”
“We have just asked you for your name. Don’t elaborate further.”
”Yes, Madam.”
The Imperial looked up again. “Where are you from?
Skoloc took a deep breath. “From Alderaan, Tamaleau, sir. It’s not far away from the capital Aldera.”

Clang!

Skoloc jumped, when the official’s fist hit the counter top.
“Don’t get smart on me now. You don’t joke about these kind of things!”
“Wh-what kind of things, sir?I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Why you little-!” The Imperial had jumped up and shook his fists.
Skoloc backed away. The woman said suddenly:
“Commander, I think, he really doesn’t know.”
Skoloc started to tremble harder. “Know what?!”
A monotonous voice behind him interrupted them and when Skoloc turned around, he saw another grey-clad Imperial standing there, hands linked professionally behind his back.

The dull buzzing in his ears transformed into a loud roar.
“The planet of Alderaan was destroyed by the Rebel Alliance, 3:00 pm yesterday, Coruscant Standard time.”
“Liar!!!!Nooo! You are lying!!! ”
He wasn’t even aware of his own desperate screams, him pounding on the grey uniform with his fists, screaming and crying, sobbing-
Heads turning, people coming closer.
Skoloc didn’t notice anything, nothing.
Grey, White, Cold. “Mommy! Papa!”
And voices: What is the problem here? Restrain that boy! What has happened! Someone fetch a medic!
The faces were contorted, evil people, who wanted to fetch him, to kill him.
The shades came closer, tried to choke him.
He wanted to run away, get away, “No! No! Tycho! Mia!”,but they refused to let him go, and the shades got bigger, surrounded him, faded to grey- And then everything was suddenly black.

Poor kid. sad That probably wasn't the best way for him to be told, by those less-than-savory strangers.
I hope he'll be okay.

Thanks for the PM, Abeja! Send me another one soon. wink

Poor Skoloc indeed. Alone, no loving family to comfort him.

How is he to survive? What will the Imps do to him? Will Tycho defect before he knows his brother is alive & be unable to rescue him?

What will Skoloc do now that he is alone?

Well written as always. Looking forward to the next post.

Your friend Demon

Chapter five

He woke up to loud voices.
“-can’t keep him here, Beth!”
“But I want to! He is so lost, so small…”
Skoloc stayed still.
Maybe if I don’t move and close my eyes, this nightmare will end.
But it didn't. He felt the rough fabric of the bed sheet under his hands, crumpling it in his fingers.
The room smelled of cold caff and stale air and dusty curtains.
It was dim in here and only a small, old-fashioned lamp in a corner spent a flickering light.

The voices outside continued to argue and Skoloc felt incredible weary.
So it’s all real, he thought, too tired to feel anything more than emptiness, they’re all dead.
Mommy, Papa, Mia, Rian, Tryan, Grandma, Grandpa, Grandmother, Grandfather---
His eyes hurt. His fingers were cramped. His head swam with images of a happy family, all gone, gone, lost and a little boy, who tried to understand it all, but felt, how his grasp already slipped again.
“I want him to stay here!”
The woman again. Why does she even bother?
Skoloc flexed his fingers and closed his eyes.

“Close the door, Beth, he might hear you.”
“I don’t think so,he is still out cold-“
The woman, Beth, shut the door and turned around to her opponent, the same Imperial, whom Skoloc had spoken to earlier.
Her blond hair was hanging loose over her shoulders, the cap was off, and her eyes sparkled with a fierce determination.
Her flushed cheeks and the hectic red spots on both faces were evidence for a long fight.
“He reminds you of your little brother, doesn’t he?”
“He does remind me of our little brother, but that’s not relevant.”
“It is. You can’t let your personal feelings interfere with your job, Lieutenant Stone.”

“I am not-“ She interrupted herself, sighing. “Fine. But I have some other information, which might interest you too.”

“Yes?”
“The boy’s name is Skoloc, Skoloc Celchu.”
“Yes, but we know that already, I don’t know, why-“
“Hear me out.” She cut him off, glaring exasperatedly.
“This Skoloc Celchu is the son of Johannes Celchu, who owned Novacom. You have heard of that one, haven’t you?”
“Yes, but-“
“So, his name is not entirely unknown.”
“I don’t see, how this can still be of importance after Alderaan’s destruction.”
Alderaan’s destruction. Beth felt the bitter taste of ash on her tongue.
“Well, it is. Not because of the money, no. The boy has an elder brother who has inherited all the money from Novacom.
I did a little research. The brother is a certain Tycho Celchu, graduate of the Academy on Prefsbelt 4.”

“Your point?”
“The latest news are, that two day after Alderaan’s destruction, he is listed under AWOL. Wanted for crimes against the Empire: defecting, assaulting and killing Imperial personnel.”
“I still don’t see what all this has to do with the boy.”
Beth smiled slowly.
“I am getting there. The graduation class of his age group is considered the best in the history of the Academy. The best graduate was one Lieutenant Tycho Celchu, third-best graduate in the history of the Academy, only bested by Han Solo and Major Soontir Fel.
So..if this Celchu is so good and he joins the Rebels…”

The brown-haired man smiled finally.
“I think I understand, what you are saying, Beth. If he is that good a pilot, he will probably, once they have got to trust him, rise up high in their ranks.
And the boy could be a…leverage, because Celchu would want him back..”
Suddenly he scowled.
“But this, Beth, would mean, that we put ourselves on the same step as the dirty Rebel scum. We won’t ever negotiate with that filthy lot, and besides, you silly girl, the Emperor and our glorious fleet will soon defeat this sorry excuse for a military.”

Beth stayed calm.
“Pride comes before a fall, isn’t that the old saying?”
She saw his anger flare and added quickly, not about to be losing her trump card:
“I am not saying, that we will lose. We will win, that’s obvious, but one should always be prepared. Let’s say in the case, that the Rebels ever try to take over this planet…”
“NOT while I am still here, Beth! Only over my dead body!”

She sensed, that she had pushed it too far.
“I wasn’t implying that. I am only saying, that a lot of…let’s name it inconveniences can be avoided, when you have a leverage. And no matter how much of a gamble this might be, it could still prove helpful.”
He composed himself again. “We aren’t taking him in, and that’s my final word, Beth.”
She had to try another tactic.
“This boy could be a help in other things too.”

His curiosity piqued, he leaned over to her and she whispered something in his ear.
Pulling back, he looked contemplative. “That might indeed be an advantage.”
“Beth” grinned with the air of someone who has just managed to win a hard battle, revealing gleaming teeth.
“I thought you’d say so.”

Something evil is afoot. Beth must have some devious plan to use Skoloc somehow.

Skoloc will be definte leverage against Tycho, too. Tycho, if he knew his little bro is alive would move heaven and earth to recover him. It could be Tycho's downfall.

Update soon....

PS: I like hot Green Tea to relax in the evenings but Camomile is very good, too.

What was that all about? worried Get out of there, Skoloc! Don't trust these people.

I hope they don't realize Skoloc was listening...then he would really be in trouble.

Thanks for the PM, Abeja. happy

Demon:Hi...You're absolutely right. Tycho would be horrified, if he knew that Skoloc is still out there. But for now, Skoloc will have to do alone. Thanks for the review! (Yes, green tea is great as well. But I really love a tea sort called "Sweet Kiss". It's great, with strawberry, vanilla and rhubarb drooling )

Meredith_Kenobi:Welll, he doesn't trust them, but they won't let him go anymore....)-; Thanks for the review- and of course you're welcome!

Sorry for being a bit brief today, but I am feeling like a car has run me over. Sore throat, coughing, perhaps fever too? and all that- oh the joys of doing practical work (or how do you call it?) in a kindergarten.

Greetings, Abeja (*cough* *cough* cry )

Chapter six

Skoloc had fallen asleep again, after the woman had closed the door.
When he woke up, the voices were gone, and he felt exhausted, despite having slept for so long. He stood up and walked around the room. Opposite of his bed was an old, cracked mirror.
A pale, blond boy gazed back at him with red-rimmed blue eyes, which formed an odd contrast to the dark rings under them.
Skoloc slowly brought a hand to his face and rubbed it over his forehead, leaving a wet, sweaty trail.
He shook his head at his reflection and turned away, looking around the little room.
The curtains were of a rusty, brown colour and he shied away from them.
The bed was the only furniture in the room, it was empty otherwise, except for the big mirror.

A plain brown door led to the next room, where the voices had come from earlier.
Skoloc pushed the door open and winced, when it creaked loudly.
When everything stayed still, he entered.
This room was bigger than the other. A small door next to him revealed a refresher station.
Skoloc closed it softly again.
The same curtains were there, but some big windows spent a little more light.
A large holo-map hung on the wall.
The planet of Corulag: Major cities and settlements it read and the city of Curamelle, capital was highlighted red.
Skoloc turned away and tried to open the large exit door, but the lever was blocked.
Too tired and too apathetic to care, he wandered back to the map.

When his fingers touched Curamelle, the image dissolved in order to reappear as a complicated mass of white dots and red lines.
Skoloc understood, that this was a closer view of Curamelle.
The white dots marked Imperial bases and the red lines main traffic lines, according to the key.
Skoloc stared at one, which was marked Main Base.
Two similar-looking dots were on the map.
One read: Imperial Academy Corulag and the other read: Second Base Thunder district.
It was highlighted green.
At least he knew now, where he was.
Corulag. He didn’t know much of the planet, only that it was one of the main Core worlds. Father had tried often enough to get him interested in geography, but he had been rather fascinated of tinkering with ships and working with the holonet.
Father…He gulped down the large lump in his throat.
On the table was a Holonet terminal. It wasn’t turned off and Skoloc sat down behind the large oak desk, accessing it, but only because he hadn’t much to do otherwise.
He looked through the latest news.
Alderaan destroyed by the Rebel Alliance
Skoloc squashed every feeling, that arose in him and concentrated on the article.

Two days ago the planet of Alderaan was destroyed at 3:00 pm, Standard Coruscant time.
Deeply shocked we look to the Alderaan system, disgusted and shaken by this new atrocity commited by the terror group, which calls itself “The Rebel Alliance.”
And this is how it happened: Some Rebels managed to smuggle themselves on the new defence station, that the Emperor has invented to protect the Universe from terror acts and to preserve peace. They sabotaged the weapon system, which lead to a chain reaction, that caused the weapon station, which was only intended to be used in pacific causes, to suffer a malfunction, which in turn destroyed the planet of Alderaan.
The Emperor has already promised drastic measures to be taken against the Rebels.
The Empire’s revenge shall be great and terrible, in the name of those billiards who died that fateful day. Let us all remember the planet of Alderaan as a symbol of martyrdom, a symbol that shall be avenged.

The article finished with a Long live the Empire!

Skoloc felt sick. He felt bile rising up in his throat and ran to the refresher.
When he was in the refresher station, he threw up.
Then he settled down on the floor, dry heaves shaking him ever now and then.
