Title: Her Favorite Things

Note: This is a response to the Musical Songfic Roulette Challenge. I got the song, "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music, and used it as inspiration. I even put a couple of my favorite lines into it.

Here I stand out on the patio and watch the two girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes play tag with each other, giggling and squealing in delight. They are Pooja and Ryoo, my wife’s nieces. We had agreed to take care of them while Sola and Darred went out on a ‘date’. It was the least we could do after they took care of Luke and Leia while Padme and I went on our second honeymoon.
Padme will probably scold me for letting the girls run around outside in their dresses, as this year’s silver white winter had just melted into spring, and the ground was muddy. However, the girls were restless and needed to get out of the house. I suppose I could have told them to change their clothes, but I don’t always think about those little details.
Details.
I can’t help but be grateful that I have the time now that I’m no longer in the order to find out the little details about my wife; such as her favorite things. For instance, I never knew her favorite bands were Pekkie Blu and the Starboys, and Sonic Free… I have a sneaking suspicion she likes the former because the lead singer is good looking… not that I’m jealous, but the guy can’t sing worth a damn! I sound better than he does when I’m singing in the shower.
It’s nice to be able to get to know my wife better after all these years. The more I get to know her, the more I love her. All those years of longing to be with her… all the frustration of having to hide our marriage… was worth it. I am more happy than I ever dreamt of being.
“Ani,” I hear Padme come up behind me and smile as she puts her arms around me from behind, but then she pulls away. “Oh no, you didn’t let them play out there in their dresses!”
Busted!

I love seeing Anakin be just a regular husband and father, free to enjoy his family for a change.
