	Title: Your Eyes Author: LilyHobbitJedi Timeframe: Second half of SOTJ/ During the Clone Wars Characters: Obi-Wan, Siri Genre: Romance, Angst Summary: As Siri dies, Obi-Wan reflects on just how much he’s always loved her. Notes: Just a plot bunny I got today that I just HAD to write. The song is from RENT. Your Eyes “For star’s sake Obi-Wan, I’m dying! Do you have to interrupt me now?” Obi-Wan was shocked and stunned as he looked down at his best friend. Siri, couldn’t be dying, this had to be some cruel joke. Siri was in worse jams than this and she always made it. But then again, this time she was fatally wounded from the blaster of a bounty hunter. You didn’t have to be a Jedi to realize that Siri was fading quickly. Obi-Wan couldn’t believe it; no he didn’t want to believe it. “You’re not dying.” He said, despite what his mind was telling him was the truth. Obi-Wan looked deep into Siri’s sapphire blue eyes, and then memories surfaced. He shared so many of these with Siri, most of them good, but there was one that was heartbreaking. He well remembered the time when he was sixteen and they both realized they loved each other. For one starburst of clarity, Obi-Wan remembered holding her, and wishing beyond all hopes that it would never end. Your eyes As we said our goodbyes Can't get them out of my mind And I find I can't hide from Your eyes When it ended, Obi-Wan’s heart felt like it was shredded inside and out. And even years later, he still had his regrets. The ones that took me by surprise The night you came into my life Where there's moonlight I see your eyes They never mentioned that mission again, and their friendship was affected for a long time. As they grew older, things became easier and eventually they were best friends again. They were Jedi and lived their life like Jedi in every way imaginable and neither could have seen themselves leaving the Jedi Order for the other. The emotions they once felt as teenagers may have been subdued, but they were never forgotten. As Obi-Wan watched the woman he loved suffer, he wanted nothing more than to take her pain. He wiped the tears falling freely into his beard and a thought struck him, he didn’t want to live while she died. How'd I let you slip away When I'm longing so to hold you Now I'd die for one more day 'Cause there's something I should Have told you Yes there's something I should have Told you Obi-Wan helped Siri reach for her warming crystal, the one that matched her eyes so perfectly. She didn’t have much time left, and he felt it clearly through the Force. He saw the pain in her eyes clearly, but as she looked at him he saw a different emotion in their blue gaze. It was love. When I looked into your eyes Why does distance make us wise? You were the song all along And before the song dies “Yours,” Siri said pushing the crystal in Obi-Wan’s hand. “Now I will never leave you.” And it was true; Obi-Wan knew it because Siri’s spirit could never die. He could never forget Siri, for she captured his heart and never let it go. She was his soul mate, hit one true love, proof that even Jedi weren’t immune to falling in love. Obi-Wan leaned down and his face was right next to hers, as she stared back at him. He felt her soft gasps for air, and he struggled with four emotions at the same time. Speechless, he looked at her telling her through his gaze what his heart always felt. I should tell you I should tell you I have always loved you You can see it in my eyes Siri’s last breath came, her heart beat for the last time, and Obi-Wan looked down at woman who was once full with so much life.
