Wow talk about a cliffie... I can't believe you left it there. Good to see both ObiWan and Siri back with the living. It will certainly be interesting to see what Yoda has to say about everything going on.

That was an excellent chapter, and now he is letting her
know how much she means to him.
“You would have gone on living,” Siri interrupted firmly.
“No,” Obi-Wan shook his head in protest. “It would have killed me.”
Siri’s eyes widened in surprise. “Wha -,”
Siri is shocked but I suspect she will love him for it.

Now Obi-Wan, where's your famous serenity??  Wonderful update. Loved this:
‘The Force will provide a “willing” subject with all the sleep necessary,” Obi-Wan had lectured time and time again. “Sedatives are only for those too lazy to connect with the Force and relax until they fall asleep.”
“He won’t like it,” Anakin mused.
“I know,” Barriss chuckled. “I think we healers are the only ones who got his infamous speech more than you did.”
“On the other hand,” Anakin began, a slow smile forming on his face. “He was being stubborn about connecting with the Force to relax.”
“I agree,” Barriss nodded. “Do I have your permission?”
“You don’t really need it, you know,” Anakin pointed out.
“Yes I do,” she argued. “Considering his well known opinion, I’m not about to take full responsibility for overriding it.”
“Understood.” Anakin gazed down at Obi-Wan’s peaceful face. “Sorry, Master,” he whispered, “but this is for your own good.”
No one wants the blame.

 Sorry, I've been a bad reader, not replying...
The last two updates were wonderful. I love that now that Anakin made his decision, the doubts have left him. Only 100 Jedi left. Grrrrr  Stupid Palpy!
But Master Yoda's here now...which means everythings going to go to pot isn't it? 
Great update, can't wait for more.

Ha ha...no one but Anakin could have taken the blame for that one, but it looks like Anakin got away this time, seeing as Siri is the one who was with him when he woke up. Ah....hurry up and spit it out Obi wan and tell her how you really feel!!!! And Yoda....always the perfect timing!!! Great post, as always, but I have to complain....why must it be so short...:( I'm positively bleeding for more....theoretically.

They're both okay!!!
It looks as if Anakin doesn't have to worry about Obi-wan being upset about the sedative since it seems Obi-wan's going to be preoccupied with Siri.

Glad to see a new update. This story rocks.
I enjoyed the back and forth between Anakin and Barriss regarding giving Obi-Wan the sedative. Good stuff.
I also wondered about Obi's dream. Was it just a sedative induced nightmare or a foreboding vision of the future? ;-) I'm glad to see Siri up and around and hope she stays safe.
What news does Yoda bring?

This is such a great AU for ROTS. I love the characterizations of Obi-Wan and Anakin. It’s nice to see Obi-Wan with real human emotions and not the stiffy of canon. And it’s so refreshing to see a more mature Anakin who actually trusts the Jedi family that saved him from a life of slavery (albeit begrudgingly at first).
UGG! – I was so upset when canon Anakin stupidly bought Palpy’s lies about being able to stop death.
I love this story, may I please be included on the PM list?

Helen_Taft: Aww! The mini-calm after the storm. I loved Anakin's reluctance to shoulder responsibility for overriding Obi-Wan's professed dislike of sedatives *g* and apology to the unconsious man afterwards, lol. Poor Obi-Wan with that nightmare, but at least he got to wake up to proof that it was only a dream. You have me wondering what news Yoda will be bringing with him--unlikely to be good *quakes*. Thanks for a great update! The both of you are doing a wonderful job with this story. More soon!!

Chapter 8
All of the surviving Jedi waited just outside the mountain’s entrance in a semi-circle, eyes glued to the landing ship. Obi-Wan stood next to Siri, one hand resting on the back of her hover chair. He had tried to convince her to remain in the healer’s ward but she insisted she needed to join the rest of the Order in greeting Yoda.
He couldn’t argue with her reason. Somehow, knowing Yoda survived gave him and the others just a bit more hope the Order could actually recover from their brutal decimation.
“That…that looks like Senator Organa’s ship,” Anakin whispered in a puzzled tone.
Obi-Wan turned his attention to the ship as the landing ramp was lowered. “That is the Senator’s ship,” he replied, exchanging a confused glance with Anakin.
The two fell silent as the ship’s door opened and Yoda began hobbling down the ramp, Bail Organa respectfully behind him.
Yoda reached the end of the ramp and stopped, his eyes traveling over each of the remaining Jedi. His glance paused for the briefest of seconds on Padmé before continuing their scan.
Padmé silently reached for Anakin’s hand, her heart fluttering with sudden worry. Though Anakin had assured her she would be welcomed to stay with the Jedi wherever their new location would be, she was suddenly filled with doubt. Even she knew the entire Order deferred to Yoda’s will. And while she considered the diminutive Master a good friend, there was no guarantee he would offer her sanctuary. After all, she wasn’t in imminent danger.
Yoda closed his eyes, inhaling deeply before continuing his journey to the waiting Jedi.
“Glad to see everyone I am,” he whispered softly. “Much work we have to do if rebuild the Order we are,” he paused, eyes flickering to the younglings. “Answer your questions Senator Organa and I will. When settled everyone is, all Knights and Master are to gather in the dining hall for a briefing.”

Senator Fang Zar stepped into the reception area of Mon Mothma’s office and froze at the sight of the empty room. Where was the receptionist? Perhaps he’d gotten the time of the meeting wrong?
Reaching for his comm, he quickly contacted his office.
“D'jek, check my schedule and verify when I’m supposed to be meeting with Senator Mon Mothma,” he requested.
“Just as I thought,” he murmured a moment later when his aide confirmed the date and time were correct.
‘Perhaps she gave Tionne the afternoon off,’ he thought, crossing the room and knocking softly on the door. He remembered the young woman had recently married and relished any extra time she could get to spend with her new husband.
He frowned when no answer came. “Senator?” he called out loudly, knocking again.
Still no answer.
Zar’s heart skipped a beat as a wave of icy fear washed over him. “I’m coming in,” he announced, palming the door controls.
The door immediately slid open, revealing Mon Mothma slumped over her desk.
“Senator!” Zar pulled out his comm, hastily calling for security as he rushed to her side. “Mon Mothma?” he gently lifted her arm, checking for a pulse.
Nothing.
“NO!” Zar grabbed her shoulders, pushing her back into her chair, gasping in horror at the burn wounds covering her body.
“Dear gods!”
“What happened in here?”
Zar turned as several members of the Senate security team ran into the room.
“I..don’t…know,” he gasped, tears filling her eyes. “I found her like this.”
“Those are lightsaber wounds,” an angry guard announced, stepping closer to the body. “Jedi scum,” he spat. “I’ll alert the Chancellor. They won’t get away with this.”
Zar stumbled backwards, his mind screaming in disbelief. He couldn’t deny the guard’s words. The wounds on Mon Mothma’s body could only have been caused by a lightsaber but he didn’t believe for a moment the Jedi were involved.
“I’ll…I’ll..I’ll be in my office if you need me,” he stammered, heading for the door. He need to contact Senator Organa immediately.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Master,” Anakin stood, bowing respectfully to Yoda. “I would like to start the meeting.”
Yoda gazed at him silently, holding up both hands to quite the surprised murmurs from the rest of the Jedi.
Anakin felt his heart skip a beat as Yoda nodded his permission. “I know this isn’t the best time,” he began, ignoring the beads of sweat beginning to form on his forehead. “But I think everyone should know,” he paused, clearing his throat.
“Senator Amidala, Padmé, and I were married three years ago. She now carries our child.”
Stunned silence filled the room. Anakin swallowed and took a deep breath.
“I’m sorry, Master,” Anakin continued, bravely turning his gaze to a shocked Obi-Wan. “I…we fell in love and we decided….we realized couldn’t be without each other.”
“Master Yoda,” Anakin turned to face him. “I know I don’t have any right to ask this, but Palpatine is aware of our relationship and I believe Padmé would be in danger if she were to leave. I would like her to remain here under our protection.”
“Agree I do,” Yoda replied, his voice laced with concern. “Free to stay here the Senator is.”
“Thank you.” Anakin sank into his chair with relief.
“You mean that’s it?” A young voice called out.
All eyes turned to Ferus Olin.
“Anakin breaks a major tenant of the Jedi Order and we just shrug and offer his wife sanctuary?”
“Ferus!” Siri hissed, her eyes narrowing with anger.
“Deserving of punishment young Skywalker may be,” Yoda began with a pointed look, “but more important matters we have at the moment wouldn’t you agree?”
Ferus nodded, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
“Begin Senator Organa will.” Yoda turned to Bail, seated next to him.
Bail rose, straightening his tunic before speaking. “First, I would like to offer my deepest sympathy for all the Jedi who have been killed in the last couple days.” Tears filled his eyes as he struggled to continue. “Second, I want to officially pledge my full cooperation and support in helping Master Yoda rebuild the Jedi Order.
I know it will be difficult,” he continued. “But I believe the fate of the Galaxy rests on your shoulders. We need you.”
“With all due respect, senator, what can you do to help us?”
Bail exchanged a quick glance with Yoda. “I have many contacts around the Galaxy who can provide food, medicine and other supplies needed to keep this base functioning,” he answered, “and I have a proposal that, if accepted, will allow the Jedi to help defeat Palpatine.”
