Valairy_Scot Well, Anakin is a young boy so I don't judge him too harshly for visiting and leaving Obi-Wan, what with him knowing his master will be all right.
I am very happy that Obi-Wan is doing so well - no memory loss and everyone was so worried about him.
I'm glad Siri knows he's okay, too.

Obi-Wan is not out of the woods yet but that's the problem with a head-injury.  RLE

Chapter 23
The birds were singing in the garden of the healers ward when one of the mindhealers, a gentle old Elegin humanoid lady, was giving the chart of her patient to Aaqu Maerhin.
She said “he has slept the entire night and no dreams were troubling him.”
Aaqu said “thanks Sjarida for your care. Get some rest, you need it. Sitting the entire night concentrating on your patient’s mind can be taxing.”
Sjarida said “Obi-Wan deserves it. He is such a kind man and my colleagues have all offered their help. I will go now” and she left.
Aaqu saw her leave, gliding with the soft steps only an Elegin humanoid could perform. They were frail beings and all that were discovered as being Force sensitive had become mindhealers, technicians or archivists.
A short time later Enga came in guiding a large cart of supplies. She said “good morning Aaqu, ready for Obi-Wan?”
Aaqu said “good morning too and yes I am ready. Ah there is Kaagi, now we are complete.”
The bandages around Obi-Wan’s head were unwrapped and after the leads from the EEG-monitor were removed Aaqu inspected the stitches. He said “looking good and in a few days we can remove them. Most wounds will heal without a scar and only that small place where he hit his head on that sharp point will remain without hair.”
Enga said “you won’t notice that, less than a square centimetre.”
Soft fuss was already covering the head giving the pale skin a ginger glow when the sun shone on it. And the stubbles of a forming beard and moustache were also coming back.
A new bandage was wrapped around Obi-Wan’s head and Enga smiled when she saw the result. “He is looking like a ruler from Dantinna or the lead star from that old holomovie. And one of those holosoaps has someone like this in it.”
Kaagi said with a big smile splitting his face “don’t mention that to him” as he was removing the brace. “This looks good.”
Enga took the brace and cleaned it. “Here it is cleaned and ready. And we can do now the rest of his body. He sure is sleepy. Can we reduce the painkillers?”
Aaqu said “no, not yet and keeping him sleepy aids greatly in his recovery.”
The healers washed Obi-Wan and Aaqu ended with his patient’s lower body. He removed the tubes and bags from the lower life-support and wrapped him in some absorbent material all young initiates were familiar with.
Kaagi said “don’t let Anakin see this.”
Aaqu said “I won’t and it’s only for today and tomorrow. He has to get control back and with the Force returning that will be easy.”
Enga said “he will be fussy about that oh boy.”
A sleepy voice asked “what is fussy oh boy?”
Aaqu looked up as he was applying the last fastener and before he could reply Enga said with a snug look “your diaper.”
Obi-Wan muttered “I am not a baby. Next they will ask if Rian will come and take care of me or worse take me to the crèche and let Anakin take care of me.”
Enga said with a teasing voice “or the Old Folks home.”
Obi-Wan got a last look at the diaper before a green sheet was tucked around his body and thought ‘this has to go, treating me like an initiate. But it’s better than those tubes of the life-support. Force, that’s another reason I dislike those bactatanks so much, putting you in a suit and applying those thingy’s.’
Enga asked “comfortable Obi-Wan?”
Obi-Wan replied “uh yes and now I need only a larger pillow. And can I have something to drink?”
Enga said “we can try but we have to warn you. You will be nauseous.”
Obi-Wan said “yeah but master Aaqu has some ‘nice’ medicine for that” and he made a face that clearly showed his disgust. ‘Nausea medicine and those potions for your throat were horrible.’
Aaqu said “my medicines are nice, they do the work” and he smiled inwardly. ‘Obi-Wan’s full long term memory was intact and sure he will need some counselling when he recovers but everything is going to be alright.’
Enga came with a glass with water and a straw in it and helped Obi-Wan drink.
Obi-Wan felt the soothing liquid in his mouth. It was water and tasting bland but it was a first. Next he felt the churning of his stomach and giving Enga an apologising look he vomited the water on the pillow. “This is bad, why” and more vomit dribbled on the pillow.
Aaqu said “head-injuries upset your whole body and your stomach has been empty for 7 days. I can give you some medicine to fight that nausea but I don’t know if it will help.”
Obi-Wan said with a face that said no “yes give me that Ronto-dung.”
Aaqu picked the bottle from the cart and said “one Ronto-dung on approach” and he gave his patient a spoon of the liquid. The reaction surprised him.
Obi-Wan just swallowed the medicine and said “huh, a different kind of Ronto-dung. It didn’t taste bad at all. Can I have some more water?”
Aaqu said “you have to wait for the medicine to do its work.”
Enga gave him a clean pillow and left with Kaagi to help other patients.
Master Aaqu remained sitting in the large comfortable chair.
A sleepy Obi-Wan dozed and relaxed just being comfortable. He waited and watched the birds outside his window. She was resting and her mate was flying around getting her little tidbits of food.
After one hour Aaqu helped him drink a little bit and Obi-Wan gave him an exasperated look when his stomach started to churn again. This time Aaqu had a towel ready and Obi-Wan could vomit on it with Aaqu supporting his head.
Obi-Wan whispered “can I have that old bad tasting medicine?”
Aaqu said “we will try this afternoon. Get some sleep and I will stay with you.”
Obi-Wan saw his utility belt and remembering who had given it to him for his birthday he drifted of to sleep.

He was flying through the air and his utility-belt was coming detached. He let go of his lightsaber and could prevent the belt from colliding with the nice blonde hair of his sparring-partner.
Plop, he landed on the floor and felt a slight sting as the lightsaber of her touched his neck. Yeah you defeated me Siri, nice.
He was sitting on the couch with his master admiring a brand new utility belt and Siri who had given it was smiling.
Adi Gallia came from the kitchen with a bottle of juice and four glasses.
To your 24th birthday and Siri and he clinked their glasses. Some juice sloshed out of the glass and it became a stream, it became a river and he was floating in it. He was on a raft and it was nearing a waterfall. All was wet and he couldn’t control the raft. Where is the Force when you need it?
“Come Obi-Wan wake up.”
Wake up? I am on a raft, huh, I was with my master and Siri, drinking? No. I am wet.
“Obi-Wan open your eyes. Do it. You are wet but that’s alright. Don’t worry.”
He opened his eyes and saw the green brown ones of Aaqu gazing down on him. And yes he was wet. ‘Good that Anakin isn’t here.’
Aaqu said “you were dreaming nice but it was turning into a nightmare because you have no control of your body yet. I will give you a dry one.”
Obi-Wan saw him leaving ‘good that this squeaky gel mattress can be cleaned so easy and yeah it is comfy.’
A short time later Aaqu came back with Hanjo Tavar carrying cleaning materials.
As the healers were wrapping him in a new diaper Obi-Wan muttered “great every time I sleep and get wet I am in a nightmare. When will I get control back?”
Hanjo said “your left side of the brain was injured and having no control yet can be one of the effects. But a brain is quite flexible and you have to work on it.”
Aaqu added “and with the Force coming back you can use that to help you.”
Obi-Wan said with a knowing smile forming on his face “yeah that will do the trick.”
Aaqu asked “like some water Obi-Wan?” and after seeing the worried gaze “first I will give you that medicine of course.”
He gave Obi-Wan the medicine.
Obi-Wan said “not bad and now the water” He sipped from the drinking-straw and felt only a slight churning of his stomach and gave a small smile when he saw the towel just held ready in the case his stomach became rebellious. It didn’t and he asked “no more water?”
Aaqu answered “just this tiny bit. It stayed down and you will get more tomorrow. But without medicine if possible.”
Kaagi came in and said “good to see you awake Obi-Wan. I will give you therapy to keep your muscles supple.”
Obi-Wan asked “more tickling?”
Kaagi said “no, you have proved there is nothing wrong with your legs and arms. I will just give you some massage and exercises but nothing strenuous yet.”
Obi-Wan said “yeah with that nausea I don’t get much nutritious food. In no time I am thin as a bean-stalk Kenobi.”
Kaagi said with a smile “those IV’s are giving you all you need” and he began with his massage.

Aaqu and Hanjo had left the room and were enjoying a caf-break in the office.
Aaqu said “Obi-Wan didn’t complain when I gave him that medicine.”
Hanjo said “after a brain-injury he can have a different smell and taste perspective or it can be gone altogether. Most cases I have known reported that it didn’t come back but he can be the exception. We will see when we give him his first normal food. We won’t tell him yet, now he has more important things to think about.”
Aaqu said “yes, getting back his control. Tomorrow when the Force is back I am sure he will remember his lessons when he was an initiate and visiting me.”
Hanjo asked “what kind of lessons?”
Aaqu answered “as a 3 year old Obi-Wan sensed that I needed medical care. I had a ruptured appendix and after the surgery the first one I saw was Obi-Wan. He had already great healing capabilities and helped me.” He told the entire story and another one of Obi-Wan helping Kaagi Adin.
Hanjo said “that kid should have become a healer.”
Aaqu said “by becoming the apprentice of Qui-Gon Jinn he helped that master heal. Master Jinn was devastated when Xanatos turned to the dark side. But by taking Obi-Wan he became like a father and they developed the strongest bond I have ever seen between two Jedi. Seeing his master being murdered was very traumatic for Obi-Wan but all his friends have been a great help to him. And now with him feeling and acknowledging that Qui-Gon is helping him I am sure he will be alright.”
Hanjo said “and I will be there for him as long as he needs us.”
Kaagi came in for a cup of caf and said “watch the birds. Yoda said that yesterday. Birds gone, Obi gone.”
Hanjo smiled “that’s a nice one” and he walked towards room number 9 to resume his morning duties.

During the rest of the day Hanjo and later Enga cared for Obi-Wan getting the occasional muttering when their sleepy patient felt something being changed. And to them that muttering was like music in their ears.

It was dark in room number 9 when a soft tip tapping sound alerted Sjarida who was having the second half of the nightwatch.
Master Yoda came in and said very softly “be with him until he wakes up. Control he needs.”
Sjarida nodded and left after she saw Yoda settling in the large chair.

He will get control and for a Jedi with the Force it is easy. But Yoda helps.

Obi-Wan is recovering but there are some more surprises in store. Some of them are glimpsed in the next update. And those initiates, my brother did this rocking when he was that little and he blocked a door to the closet.
Chapter 24
Obi-Wan opened his eyes after a good night of rest and a nice dream about his youth. He smiled when he saw who was responsible for this. Yoda was sitting in the large comfortable chair, ears in a relaxed position and eyes closed.
‘Yeah it was about control and the nice brown blanket I got from master Rian after I proved I could stay dry during the night. And that fun with Bant and Reeft. Getting food for that insatiable stomach of Reeft and crawling through those ducts and we ended up in the garden. Bant saw the swimming-pool and that purple monster and we dove in fully clothed.’
“Uh I am wet.”
Yoda opened his eyes and said “wet you are Obi-Wan. Control you need.”
Obi-Wan said “I will tr”
Yoda jumped up from his place and landed on the bedsheets at the foot of the bed. “Try Obi-Wan? Do! Two years you were and you did.”
Obi-Wan muttered “yeah do. The first time I did Rian praised me. And when I stayed dry he gave me that nice fluffy brown comforter. I wonder if that thing is still somewhere.”
He thought about the time he moved to the Jinn-Kenobi apartment and got his own bedroom. ‘Master Qui-Gon gave me a new bed with that large blue comforter. And after Naboo I took his bed and he had the same kind of blue comforter and I have used that ever since.’
A soft beeping sound interrupted his thoughts and it didn’t surprise him when a short time later Kaagi came in carrying a new IV-bag and his supplies.
Yoda said “leave now I will. Have to see Anakin for new lesson. Control.” and he left the room. ‘Fluffy brown comforter, get it I will.’
Kaagi had changed the IV-bag and said “before I start giving you instructions I will change that.” He unpacked a new diaper and changed it expertly. “You have to try Obi-Wan. Enga is the healer of the afternoon and you know.”
Obi-Wan muttered “yeah, tickling with those cold hands. You at least have nice gentle ones.”
Kaagi grinned “I am a therapist you know and you cannot have your patient squirming and making things worse.”
Obi-Wan nodded and relaxed under Kaagi’s ministrations and drifted off to sleep after he heard ‘will come back this afternoon for your second session of the day.’

Yoda was entering the crèche and heard some conversation between Anakin and Rian.
A muttering ‘that baby, I have changed his diaper and now I can begin anew.’
A gentle voice ‘Here is a new one. Come I will change it. Watch that little Rodian.’
An exasperated voice and heavy footfalls ending abruptly ‘Hey that’s not for you, you will get dirty. Oh nooh, now you are and who has to clean you?’
A friendly ‘you can do it Anakin.’
A muttering voice ‘you need to be cleaned in the fresher. Come with me!’
A shouted ‘now you are blocking the entrance to the fresher with your crib.’
Yoda came in and smiled when he saw a little 1 year old Telrite girl rocking in her crib. Doing so the crib was moved to the open door of the fresher and Anakin was locked inside with a smiling Rodian who was using his finger to create a fountain of water and spraying the Padawan and the entire fresher wet.
Yoda said “use the Force, size matters not.”
Anakin muttered “I tried master Yoda, but she is so unpredictable” and he pointed at the Telrite.
Yoda said “meet you in garden of a thousand fountains after lessons I will. Lesson I have.”
Anakin said “I will be there. Your lesson cannot be disastrous like this” and he pointed at the Telrite and Rodian.
Rian was ready with his charge and said “control Anakin, it seems that the children are in control.”
Anakin grumped “he is wet, I am wet.”

Obi-Wan opened his eyes and saw the birds in their nest. He felt something and smiled. The Force was back and probing he could feel that the birds were almost to hatch. ‘Oh no, Anakin is in trouble in the crèche. Yeah Yoda, that’s right; size matters not, I have heard that many times when I was an initiate. Control? Hey I am wet.’
“Uh master Aaqu can you help me?”
“Sure, I will get a new one and you know.”
“Yeah, Kaagi told me.”
“I will get you something to drink.”
Obi-Wan saw Aaqu leaving the room.
‘Good to have the Force back, now I can work on that control’ Obi-Wan thought as he felt the Force flowing through him giving him more awareness.
Now he saw for the first time how extensive his injuries to his brain had been.
Now he could see what was needed and he closed his eyes needing the concentration. ‘That didn’t come from that fight. Some one must have pushed me and those pieces of breaking glass were no good either.’

Master Aaqu came back and saw the concentrated look on Obi-Wan’s face and placed his hand on the forehead of the Jedi. “You can do it. Remember what you did when you helped Kaagi. Remember what you did when you helped me. Remember what I taught you. Concentrate on what is now important.”
He felt the Jedi’s power, redirecting functions, redefining pathways, getting back control.
Obi-Wan opened his smiling eyes and saw the smiling green brown ones of master Aaqu looking down on him.
Aaqu said “I will give you a new one but I am certain it is the last of this day” and he changed the diaper. “Tomorrow I will get you a pair of boxers. And now that the Force has returned you can sleep alone again.”
Obi-Wan gave him a big smile. “Uh and when I start to dream badly again you will come.”
Aaqu said “sure and now that drink. First we try without medicine. Again a little bit and don’t be upset if your stomach starts to churn. That has nothing to do with control and is only a reaction of your body.”
Obi-Wan took a mouthful of water and swallowed it. As predicted his stomach refused the water and most of it came back on the towel. He whispered “more medicine?”
Aaqu said “yes, you need that to keep that water down” and he gave the medicine and wasn’t surprised anymore when Obi-Wan didn’t react. The perception of taste and smell would have to wait.

Yoda had left the crèche after Anakin had gone to his lessons and he was sitting on his hoverpad with a satisfied look on his face. He had found it and he was sitting on it.
---
Obi-Wan was smiling when he accessed the Force and the bond with his Padawan. Anakin was in the basement of the Jeditemple with Yoda running on the obstacle course. ‘Yeah master Yoda did teach me that one too. O, they are coming to the healers ward.’
Aaqu sensed it too and said “Yoda and Anakin will be with you during lunchtime and I have to get something to eat too.”
A short time later a sweaty Anakin and a snug looking Jedimaster entered room number 9.
Anakin said “that was poodoo master. I had to run the obstacle course with Yoda sitting on my back in a bag and he is heavy master. And that was after he did take me to the garden of a thousand fountains. Did you do that in your youth?”
Obi-Wan asked with an innocent smile on his face “what?”
Anakin answered “building towers from pebbles. I was using flat big ones and could put 5 in my tower before it disintegrated. And Master Yoda; he used tiny ones and he had a tower as big as himself. 50 Master, he used 50 pebbles and the tower remained intact.”
Obi-Wan said “I made the same mistake by beginning with large ones but after master Yoda told me that size matters not, I copied him and could build one with 50 pebbles too.”
“Geez master, I will try next time” and Anakin thought ‘I will out-class them.’
“By the way how are you doing?”
“Better but still nauseous when drinking without the aid of medicine.”
“That will get better. I know and I can help you with feeding. Master Rian can tell you everything about that.”
Obi-Wan said “yeah and I heard you were playing pirates with his pots and pans.”
Anakin said “I did and it was fun with those initiates and master Rian can cook, fabulous. I have finished my last exams perfect” and he told his master more about his lessons.
‘Just some light conversation, nothing strenuous. Master Aaqu has told me that before I entered the healers ward. And that about loosing my belt, going to that orphanage and giving that droidpart away can wait. I don’t want a lecture yet.’
Yoda observed and thought about what Anakin did tell and didn’t tell.
‘Only about being perfect, being the best Jedi ever. Not humble at all. Difficult to teach that is. Too old he was to come to the Jedi. But strong in the Force he is. Future is clouded in him.’
Anakin ended with “and communication techniques was great” and he saw that Obi-Wan was sleeping.
Yoda said “go back to lessons you will. First have lunch we will at Serinka’s” and he left the room with Anakin but before leaving he left briefly his hoverpad and he put a soft but old comforter on the sleeping Jedi.
Aaqu saw them as he was returning from his lunch.
Yoda said “sleeping Obi-Wan is.”
Aaqu said “he needs that and he will be rested when Kaagi comes for his physical therapy” and he went inside. He smiled when he saw the comforter.
‘It had been Obi-Wan’s since he was 2 years old and was left in the crèche when he was sent away to Bandomeer. And after that he was the apprentice of Qui-Gon Jinn and got new things from his master.’

Obi-Wan opened his eyes when he heard the soft beeps of the IV-control. He recognised immediately what was covering him.
“Hey that’s my old comforter. Nice, I have to thank Yoda and Rian for that.”
Aaqu said “they will know. Reach out with the Force.”
Obi-Wan did and he saw the smiles on Yoda’s and Rian’s face and he saw more; pure beings of light and when he reached out he felt the soft touch of Qui-Gon. ‘Yes Padawan you did it.’

Yoda was smiling when he sensed Obi-Wan’s thoughts. He had been walking from his room to the centre of the temple and had stopped before one of the ancient chambers built thousands of years ago before the Jeditemple became the large structure that it is today.
It was partially embedded in the mountain and when you entered it you were in a cave like structure. It was the hall of crystals and in it were many lightsaber crystals that were placed there by Jedi who got new crystals. Also crystals found by Jedi in excavations and markets were stored there.
Yoda’s ears perched up. ‘Hmm. Crystal a new master it needs.’

Kaagi said as he was finishing the therapy “your responses are normal and those exercises will keep your legs supple and strong. You won’t have any trouble when we are getting you on your feet.”
Obi-Wan asked “when?”
Kaagi answered “in about 7 or 8 days.”
Rian came in and said “and in no time you will be back in your own bed.”
Obi-Wan said “hey Rian. Again thanks for finding the comforter.”
Rian said “you earned it again. I found it in the back of one of the closets only after Yoda came in and we started our search for it. Take that old comforter this time with you to your apartment when you leave the healers ward.”
Obi-Wan said “I will. By the way Anakin told me about feeding. What was he doing in the crèche?”
Rian answered “feeding the little ones and he had a unique approach to that. Every spoon full of food was a little podracer and like those some crashed and I had to clean some initiates but feeding was fun to them. Almost like your feeding when you were that young.”
Obi-Wan snickered “yes I liked everything sweet and dunked in fruit-mash.”
Rian said “and Anakin and babies you should have seen him this morning changing diapers and trying to control a bunch of exited initiates. He ended in the fresher and the little ones were in control of everything.”
Obi-Wan said “good that I am back in control and now I have to work on the next thing; eating without getting nauseous.”
Kaagi said “that will improve. Each day you are getting stronger and tomorrow we will give you the first liquid food.”
Obi-Wan said “with Ronto-dung or I will be as dirty as those initiates.”
Kaagi said “yes, we don’t want to clean you again.”
Rian added “and if you are dirty I will come youngling Kenobi.”

Yoda jumped up from his place and landed on the bedsheets at the foot of the bed. “Try Obi-Wan? Do! Two years you were and you did.”
Obi-Wan muttered “yeah do. The first time I did Rian praised me. And when I stayed dry he gave me that nice fluffy brown comforter. I wonder if that thing is still somewhere.”
Somehow, I had never thought to put Jedi and bed-wetting in the same story. Of course, I understand why, but still...
New crystal...okay, is Obi-Wan going to build a new lightsaber? At some point he replaces Qui's, so it seems logical.

He was injured badly and more is to follow and loosing Qui-Gon's lightsaber is the central motivation for the story. When he goes with Anakin to Ilum he has a blue one.

Jedi are normal except for the Force and that can be different with each Jedi.

Chapter 25
The next day Obi-Wan awoke and he felt some itchy sensation on his head. ‘Wounds healing and yeah with no decent shower in days, there sure should be a lot of sweat in my hair. Do I have still hair or have they shaved it all away? I had a lot of scratches after flying through that window.’
Aaqu came in with a tray and on it a gleaming steel bowl with a spoon, a small bottle and a syringe. He said “first this” and he gave Obi-Wan a spoon full of the medicine. “And now this.”
'This' was only a spoon full at first but it stayed down after only a slight churning of his stomach. It tasted sweet and he said “nice that Mujaa mash.”
That brought a little smile on master Aaqu’s features and he said “I will give you some more at lunchtime. Little bits at a time and if they stay down we can try more in the evening.”
Aaqu placed the bowl on the nightstand and Obi-Wan gazed towards it.
In it he could see a distorted head, his head and he began to smile.
Aaqu asked “what’s funny?”
Obi-Wan answered “my head, I am looking like one of those holo-soap stars with those bandages. And the make-up is a bit overdone.”
Aaqu said “that ‘make-up’ is a result of your head-injury. I need some blood-samples to test” and he filled a syringe from the tap on the IV.
Obi-Wan asked “I lost a lot of blood?”
Aaqu said “yes. Head-wounds bleed profusely and you blood chemicals are not up to normal yet.”
Obi-Wan asked “can I see those injuries?”
Aaqu answered “yes, we will change the bandages after I have tested those samples” and he left the room.
Obi-Wan muttered “and leave the bandages away from my head. They are becoming quite icky and sweaty.”
Aaqu turned his head and said “we will see.”

When Aaqu was entering the test-results of the blood-samples in his computer he saw Hanjo Tavar entering the office. He said “Obi-Wan did recognise the taste of Mujaa fruit.”
Hanjo said “that’s a first and maybe the smell and taste centre is not that badly damaged. I saw that he has full control over his functions back.”
Aaqu said “yes, he used the Force but he cannot use that for his smell and taste. And he is still suffering from nausea.”
Hanjo said “that is to be expected but he doesn’t have to worry. Come, let’s go and take care of those injuries before visitors arrive.”
Aaqu asked “visitors?”
Hanjo said “Master Yoda has told me that Captain Okkinsi wanted to make his apologies to Obi-Wan and he will be arriving in one hour. Yoda will come too.”
Aaqu said “that is great and those policemen can tell what happened after his arrest. Obi-Wan wanted to hear that. I will contact master Rian” and he pushed the button on his comterminal.

Obi-Wan heard the jingling of a tray of supplies and he saw two healers coming into his room.
Hanjo said “time to inspect your head-wounds” and he used a pair of scissors to cut away the bandages. No more blood was on them. “No more need for new ‘icky’ new ones.”
Obi-Wan gave them a smile but that disappeared when Aaqu held a mirror before his face. A gaunt looking almost bald head with sunken eyes, surrounded by fading bruises was staring back. Soft ginger spikes were coming back except for the place in the middle of the large wound with many stitches.
‘The place where I had surgery.’
A small row of stitches was just below the hairline. More stitches were almost obscured by his returning beard. Smaller cuts were revealed by the thin red lines where the scabs had peeled away.
“Never knew it was that bad on the outside” and with a soft chuckle “now I am again a Padawan teaching a Padawan.”
Aaqu said “don’t worry. Before you are able to leave the healers ward, your beard will be almost back to its usual length and that hair will be longer too. Tomorrow we will remove those stitches.”
Obi-Wan asked “when can I have a normal pillow?”
Hanjo answered “in a few days. You are recovering faster than I had expected. Most patients with head-injuries like yours were laying flat on their back for a longer time.”
Aaqu was covering the wounds with salve.
Obi-Wan said “hey nice, no foul smelling stuff.”
Hanjo removed the brace and went to the fresher to clean it.
Aaqu took another jar from the tray and applied this salve to the wound on Obi-Wan’s arm.
“Yuck bacta.”
Aaqu said “that other salve was iodine-salve and you were always complaining about that.”
Obi-Wan said “iodine-salve? I didn’t smell a thing. Uh is my nose affected?”
Hanjo said coming back with the brace “yes and this is another after-effect of your injury. It can come back but can take a long time.”
“Yikes, that feeling is not affected at all. Why does Kaagi make those so uncomfortable?”
“You can ask him when he comes for your therapy.”

The unmistakable sound of a gimerstick was heard accompanied by more sets of footsteps, one soft and the others with a kind of determined purpose and six beings appeared in the door.
Yoda was the first to enter and he said “have visitors for you Obi-Wan.”
Obi-Wan saw master Rian and three black clad police officers. The sixth man was wearing a pale grey suit.
One with spiky grey hair and three stars on each of his shoulders said “I am Captain Luuk Okkinsi of the Corunda sector police department and these three men are our doctor Nat Greg, officer Bruce Regnic and officer Jeb Zuchin.”
Each of the men nodded briefly and captain Okkinsi continued “we have treated you wrong and want to make an apology. We have misjudged you and other members of your order. We are very sorry. Can you forgive us?”
Obi-Wan said “apologies accepted. Not every being on Coruscant knows of the Jedi. Don’t feel bad anymore, I will recover. I have to ask you something.”
Captain Okkinsi said “ask and I will try to answer your questions.”
Obi-Wan said “I want to know what happened after you arrested me. The fight and flying out of that window is clear to me but what happened afterwards not. And before that some is still a blank in my memory.”
Aaqu said “that will return when we tell you about those days before the accident.”
Obi-Wan said “yes but first this. Wanting to know about my accident is important for me.”
Captain Okkinsi said “we will tell all that has happened to you and thank you for accepting our apologies. Telling you the story will make clear why we made all those mistakes.”
Jeb Zuchin began and said “one of my mates hit you with his weapon-stick and you were carried by two men to our transport.”
Bruce Regnik said “I thought they were your friends and after arriving at the station you were put in a cell with them. All of the prisoners were inebriated and we decided to have lunch and report to our captain first. We didn’t recognise the seriousness of your head-wounds and those two men were paying attention to you and making you comfortable. You had only a few cuts in your face and with that brace on your arm we couldn’t know you were injured there as well.”
Jeb Zuchin said “and those Djeds were there as well and we interrogated them first and made our reports. We waited for the prosecutor and the Djeds could be put into prison awaiting their trials.”
Bruce Regnik said “coming back to the cells those two were clamouring for attention and we took them to the interrogation booth and they were released after making their statements. They said you were one of the Djeds, a group performing in the Temple of Doom with slaves as their assistants.”
Jeb Zuchin said “and you were half hidden by that table and dressed like them in beige and brown. And you were wearing sneakers, the same footwear as the Djeds.”
Obi-Wan asked “sneakers! Where are my boots?”
Aaqu said “you had no boots when we found you.”
Jeb Zuchin said “one of those miners was sporting a nice pair of boots and the other had a utility belt that caught my attention for a moment. Neatly polished and unlike a normal one used by miners.”
Obi-Wan muttered “and the pirate found only my belt. Now I have to get new boots.”
Captain Okkinsi said “those miners were released almost three hours after you were arrested. Your friends arrived getting past all security measures as if they were not there at all.”
Aaqu added “we saw a public transport taking off when we arrived.”
Jeb Zuchin said “and those two men were on it, headed for the spaceport and their destination Bonadan.”
Bruce Regnik said “the arrival of the Jedi got the entire station on alert but I thought we had just a break inn to free some prisoners. I followed them with Jeb and Karel Ooms and found you and took orders from master Solma. It was weird how you could have entered that cell.”
Jeb said “I had the key on my belt.”
Rian said “you did follow the orders and your doctor and captain arrived.”
Nat Greg said “and I saw that brown robed man holding his hand on your forehead and wanted to take over. That got us into a conversation and I even accused master Aaqu of being a Djed. Your master Solma interfered.”
Yoda said “arrive I did. Get you back fast to temple we did.”
Aaqu said “yes Tomy Itsy had gotten clearance to take the fast suborbital spacelane.”
Captain Okkinsi said “now we have seen the powers of the Jedi and if the Jedi are in need of our help, we will give it gladly.”
Obi-Wan’s eyes were soft and liquid when he said “thank you for telling me all that has happened. This has helped me and I thank you for sharing your memories with me.”
Captain Okkinsi said “great that we could help. I wish you a speedy recovery and if you need anymore help contact me.”
Jeb said “recover soon master Kenobi.”
Bruce and Nat said the same.
Yoda said “see more of the Jeditemple you can. Come with me”
Doctor Greg and the policemen followed Yoda.
Obi-Wan said “thanks Aaqu and Rian. Now I know everything that happened to me in that police-station. And now I like to hear the story between the milk and going after Anakin.”
Rian said “Anakin is not eager to hear a lecture about loosing his utility belt and talking about droids is not done after a bad experience at Master Cjeb Terindin’s place.”
Obi-Wan said “oh it can wait. Anakin and no droidtalk, that’s a first. I will ask him in a few days. Laying flat on my back I cannot lecture him like I do when sitting” and he remembered some lectures by Qui-Gon delivered mostly on the couch and sometimes standing at attention next to his desk. ‘Yeah those standing at the desk were impressive.’
Rian saw the bowl of fruit-mash and asked “like something to eat?”
Obi-Wan said “sure, feed me like a youngling.”
Aaqu said “first this” and he gave Obi-Wan his medicine.
Rian fed Obi-Wan and did this more during the afternoon. Only once Obi-Wan was a bit nauseous and some dribbled on the pillow.
It was Enga’s turn to take care of him and she muttered “hey Kenobi, waited for me to clean you?”

Anakin came in at the end of the afternoon and saw the last bit of fruit-mash being fed by Enga. He said “I am doing that in the crèche master. Can I feed you next time?”
Obi-Wan answered “uh no Anakin. I have heard the disastrous results.”
Enga said “and I don’t want to deal with two Jedi soiling the bed-sheets. One is enough but he is improving.”
Anakin observed his master and saw for the first time the head-injuries. He said “wow, you are looking like a Padawan master. Those were big injuries.”
Obi-Wan said “yes but they will heal and with a beard and long hair covering the scars you won’t see them anymore. And my memory is returning and I have had visitors this day. Captain Okkinsi, Officers Bruce Regnik and Jeb Zuchin and the doctor Nat Greg were here and they have told me everything that happened to me. They apologised for what they have done to me. And I don’t blame them for not recognising who I was. Not everyone of the millions of beings staying here on Coruscant knows of the Jedi.”
Anakin said “nice to hear that. I was taken to another police station and they didn’t know what Jedi were either. They believed I was one of those slaves of the Djeds and no arguing could convince them that I was a Jedi. A nice officer was interested in my droid” and he told more but omitted the parts about becoming angry at Miss Dunjel and hearing his master’s anguished shout and ended “After a long boring wait Miss Dunjel took me to the orphanage.
Obi-Wan asked “and you went willingly?”
Anakin said “uh yes and she cared for me when I was having a nightmare dreaming about you.” He saw the soft gleam in his master’s eyes and continued “I felt you were safe and going to be alright. Miss Dunjel sang a song to me and that was really beautiful. It was even nice there and somehow Yoda must have discovered where I was because he came the day after I was brought there to take me back to the Jeditemple. Wow that little master can give a lecture. I had to promise him to never leave the temple without your permission. I think I have learned something from this adventure.”
Obi-Wan asked “and?”
Anakin said “don’t leave the temple without your permission.”
Obi-Wan said “and your belt is found too I see” and he grinned when he saw Anakin’s face.
Anakin started to say “yeah I lost it” but was silenced when Obi-Wan said “you can tell that another time and be sure Padawan, it will be accompanied by a lecture about losing things valuable to a Jedi.”
Anakin sulked “can I go now? I see your wits have returned too. A lecture” and he sped away before said lecture could be given.
Enga said “he sure was eager to leave.”
Obi-Wan said “thinking about the lecture I will be giving him will be a lesson for him too.”
Enga said with a big smile forming on her face “and won’t he be lecturing you about loosing your belt and” after a pause “your lightsaber?”
Obi-Wan said “he can and I am looking forward to it. When the student teaches the teacher it will be alright.”

Chapter 26
Obi-Wan was gazing outside towards the tree and the birds when he heard the jingling sound of an approaching cart. ‘Food, they are going to feed me again. Let’s see who it is.’ He had found Bones Barani changing the IV-bag when he had woken up at his usual time of six in the morning. The healer had washed him and left saying that his breakfast would arrive soon.
Master Enga appeared and said “good morning Obi-Wan. It is time to remove those stitches from your head-wounds and the ones from that small wound in your abdomen.”
Obi-Wan said “you again! Don’t give me sleeping-milk this time. But did you bring breakfast?”
Enga said “no, master Ekiway will come with that. Rian contacted him after he saw that unopened bottle of milk and that box of eggs on your kitchen-table.”
Obi-Wan said “ah yes that was before I went after Anakin. I had paid a visit to the children’s farm of Master Ekiway and he commented on my old clothes.”
“Yes old clothes Obi-Wan” master Ekiway said as he came in with a bottle of milk and a bowl of mashed fruit. “Good to see you recovering Obi-Wan. I have breakfast for you.”
Obi-Wan asked “can I have milk already master Enga?”
Enga said “sure, milk is easy on your stomach and won’t give a problem and yesterday you had fruit.”
Master Ekiway poured some milk in a glass and helped Obi-Wan drink.
The Jedi gave him a grateful smile when his stomach remained the same and the fruit gave no problem either. “Nice raspberries, you know I like those.”
Master Ekiway said “each day I will bring you fruit and milk until you are recovered. And if that Padawan of you need some work you can send him to me. Sneaking away from the temple and going to that Corunda sector and getting you in trouble is not done.”
Obi-Wan said “no need for that. He is staying with master Rian in the crèche and he has a lot of lessons to follow. And Master Yoda has taught him some lessons.”
Master Ekiway said “good but if he is giving trouble in the future I like to have him as my assistant for some time.”
Obi-Wan’s eyes became distant for a while when he felt something in the Force and he smiled ‘yeah Anakin would be quite agitated about that, staying with master Ekiway and feeding the chickens. Anakin has no love for animals at all.’
Enga said “and now I have work to do.”
Master Ekiway said “see you Obi-Wan” and he left the room.

Hanjo saw him leaving and asked “and?”
Master Ekiway said “he did taste raspberries and milk.”
Hanjo said “good, his taste for milk and sweet fruit is unaltered. Will you bring cheese in a few days? That’s one of the things that can taste quite different.”
Ekiway said “sure” and he left the healers ward.

Obi-Wan asked “talking about old clothes, is my sweatshirt in the waste-bin?”
Enga said “no. Master Solma had the pieces when you were guided into the surgery-wing. I will ask him where he has put them and knowing his sewing-skills I am sure he will make it like it was.”
Obi-Wan said “nice, uh oh time to pester me.”
Hanjo entered room number 9 and helped Enga with the removal of the stitches.
“Hey, that’s cold. Grr, that’s a hair.”
“Oh a rather thick one. It’s a stitch.”
“More tickling, you know I don’t like that. Aauw”.
“More pain-medication needed?”
“Uh yes, keep me drowsy and sleepy.”
“Good that Bant isn’t here to hear you complain.”
“Oh she endures that, we have been friends since our crèche days.”
“Is he always so?”
“Yes, and I like it.”
“Ready Obi-Wan.”
Another voice mingled into the conversation.
“Jedi Knight Kenobi, it is nice to see you awake and complaining, or should I say Padawan Kenobi?”
“Hey Master Windu!”
Master Mace Windu said “good to see you recovering. Grow back that hair. Now you are looking like all those human male Padawans.”
Obi-Wan said with a smile “or a certain Jedimaster.”
Mace started to say “uh we can or ” but Obi-Wan interrupted “don’t worry I let my hair cover those scars. With Anakin almost reaching my height non Jedi will think he is the Master and I the Padawan.”
Mace said “your Padawan is giving you a lot of trouble. Now he wasn’t seeking the thrills of racing in those garbage pits but going away alone to a dangerous sector. Yoda has told me everything.”
Obi-Wan said “I know and I hope Anakin has learned his lessons seeing me in the healers ward injured badly. By the way you and me together in one room in the healers ward can also be trouble.”
Mace said “I know but that is only innocent trouble, a Smiley’s war to be precise.”
Obi-Wan asked “can you tell me some about what has happened on the debating sessions during my mission on Zonoma Sekot and after that. I have missed those and they can be quite funny.”
Mace said “sure” and he was soon engrossed in a tale about the last debate.

Anakin was also debating. He was in a class about Galactic politics and they were discussing the rule by a monarchy or a president and ministry.
Anakin was in the group that was defending the president with Padawan Pirka leading and another Padawan led the opposition.
After a heated discussion Anakin whispered “I don’t like the politics in a ministry” and he started doodling on a piece of paper. Folding it in two he came to another idea and soon he had it ready near the end of the lesson. He put his hand in the air as if asking attention and let go of the paper plane.
Giggles were heard from two Padawans when the plane landed in the hair-bun of their teacher.
The teacher said “Pirka, Gwemele and Anakin, extra work for you. This chapter and the next 5 for next week. Dismissed.”

Still muttering about the debating class Anakin entered the next class but he was silent the moment he saw what was on the schedule. ‘Yippee the workings of a lightsaber’
The teacher told about how lightsabers were made and the crystals used to power the blade. She said at the end of the lesson “some masters are in the possession of old books describing how to build one. Mostly it is the last Padawan a master teaches to Knighthood that inherits the book from his master.”
Anakin thought about that ‘yes my master was the last Padawan of master Jinn. I will ask him if he has such a book.’
The teacher said “Padawans, next lesson will be about building your lightsaber. You are expected at 10 in building-room 102.”

That afternoon Anakin went to visit his master and told him about the politics lesson.
Anakin said “I made a paper-plane and it landed in our teacher’s hair-bun and that got me extra study.”
Obi-Wan said “as it should be” and a soft chuckle followed “I was no better with those debating lessons and Garen, Reeft and I changed the pedestal from a little one to a large one and the teacher had to jump atop of it to see us. We were having fun of course and that cost us 5 chapters extra to read for the next week.”
Anakin started to holler with laughter and asked “and was your next lesson lightsaber-theory?”
Obi-Wan said “no, swimming with an aquatabreather but that was fun too. And yours was?”
Anakin said “yes and our teacher told us that some masters have an old book about building a saber.”
Obi-Wan said “yes I have one and if you need it you can find it on my desk. I have used it to make my lightsaber-hilt.”
Anakin said “thanks master.”
Obi-Wan said “I have built paper-planes in my youth. Do you like to hear those stories?”
Anakin nodded.
Obi-Wan told Anakin about his adventures with paper planes until Kaagi came in to give him his therapy.

Master Mace Windu said “good to see you recovering. Grow back that hair. Now you are looking like all those human male Padawans.”
Obi-Wan said with a smile “or a certain Jedimaster.”
He's recovering - he's complaining, wondering where his breakfast is, and teasing Mace and having fun with Anakin. Wonderful.

Obi-Wan asked “can I have milk already master Enga?”
Enga said “sure, milk is easy on your stomach and won’t give a problem and yesterday you had fruit.”
Master Ekiway poured some milk in a glass and helped Obi-Wan drink.
The Jedi gave him a grateful smile when his stomach remained the same and the fruit gave no problem either. “Nice raspberries, you know I like those.”
Ah good his taste buds are intact.
Oh my! is he bald like Mace
