An AU vignette, set at the end of ATOC Anakin confesses his feelings for Padme to Obi Wan before he escorts her to Naboo. He gets a surprising response.
Neglecting Your Education
Pacing round his room Anakin tried to calm down, why had he been given this mission; it was almost as if the council was setting up for failure. He had been surprised when he finally escaped the healing ward to find a message from the council directing him to escort Padme back to Naboo, was the council testing him? He wouldn’t put it past them. A memory flicked into his head from his numerous hours of crèche duty, the masters would purposely leave an initiate alone in a room full of sweets with the instructions not to eat them. This exercise was meant to teach these aspiring Jedi self control even at such a young age. Perhaps this was a similar such “exercise” and he had a sinking feeling he would fail.
A soft swish from the adjoining living area heralded the arrival of his master. Anakin took a deep breath and headed out to face him. “I hear you will be escorting Senator Amidala home”, placidly stated most people would not perceive the question in these words but ten years had taught Anakin to appreciate the nuances of his master’s speech, Obi Wan expected an answer.With a groan Anakin collapsed on the couch, Obi Wan sat opposite him, “Why don’t you start from when you left on that transport?”.
So Anakin began his story, recounting the agonising journey to Naboo his feelings and desires, the growing awkwardness in Padme’s presence all culminating in the kiss on the balcony. At this point he dared a glance at his master. Obi Wan was cradling his head in his hands, he looked mortified.
Taking advantage in the break in Anakin narrative, Obi Wan confessed, “Padawan it seems that I have been neglecting your education on some rather important points, still it’s not too late to rectify the situation” and with that he bustled off into his own room. Slightly confused Anakin choose to remain seated and was shortly rewarded with the reappearance of his master. “I thought I still had this” Obi Wan stated dropping a data reader in Anakin’s lap, “I went through a similar problem as a padawan myself, I expect most human males do, Qui Gon gave me this to read and I found it most helpful why don’t you give it a try”.
Bemused, Anakin picked up the data reader. This wasn’t some phase, he was in love with Padme and he doubted anything written here could convince him otherwise. Deciding to at least humour his master he flicked the reader on and scanned the title, “Pick up lines that actually impress girls”.

...Okay, I'm cracking up now.  Although, honestly, I'd think the first and foremost rule for pickup lines that actually impress women would be "Cannot be found in any book of supposedly clever or impressive pickup lines." 
But maybe your version of the Jedi have found a way to overcome that problem.

I was sort of expecting something other than the average, Obi goes ballistic then calms down. But this still came as a surprise!
However I agree with Persephone_Kore, there aren't any pick-up lines that impress girls. The thing that probably works the best is the whole 'guilt trip' thing. But it didn't work on me...

I'm trying to picture Obi-Wan studying that same lesson. "How to Pick Up Girls 101: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Grade B - technical merits are impressive, but improvisation when threatened with a drink thrown in his face could use some work."

Ponders if the datapad in question contains any examples from Master Yoda.....after all, in 800+ years he's had to have heard quite a few used by the various padawans!  Of course, whether any of the lines in question actually work is another matter!  I also wonder if various masters over the centuries have edited or updated the work, ie. Masters Windu and Jinn. My thanks for writing this!
